  1. I did some digging at one point a while back and found out that the older hajime no ippo actually had more frames, at least in fights, than the newer ones which I thought was interesting. This difference wouldn't become as big as the newer anime got more used to itself, but it's still there. This might be why, as when I watched the newer ones I remembered that the fights in the older ones were better still.
  2. So I've been doing some remastering using AI algorithms on an old anime, hajime no ippo, a boxing anime and have just finished it. The type of remastering I did was to enhance the resolution, clean up artifacts/noise, and frame interpolation. I've made my own subreddit, in there I've got more info, as well as some FAQs. Check it out! https://www.reddit.com/r/InterpolateAndEnhance/ For now I'll be doing anime, the next series will be the old hunter x hunter. At some point I want to try out live action content, specifically action stuff like martial arts movies, or straight up action, but for now the interpolation algorithms aren't quite good enough, or well actually they kinda are, at least the high end ones, but good luck trying to interpolate anything with those on anything other than a RTX 3090.
  3. Eh, not really, 970 only got like 3.5GB of vram, I'm not sure you can do much with that, you could try the one by mortenhannemose over on github, but I've got no clue if you'll have enough vram, I can just barely do 1440p with my 2060 super 8GB, so you might be able to do a 720p footage. As for how long it'd take, not quite sure either, it takes me roughly 5 hours for a 25 minutes clip at 1440p, so I'd imagine it'd take you longer, not sure how much longer though, 7 hours I think sounds decent for a 720p video?
  4. The first part of it is decent, after a certain arc though it just gets worse. Depends though on what you like I suppose, if you like battles with increasing powerlevels, similiar to dbz, then bleach as an entirety is decent. I personally have a problem with it, in that after a certain arc, it kinda feels like nothing really happens in terms of progression of the relationships etc... and also, even though they get much stronger and stronger as the show goes on, the show kinda has to patch it's own holes as it goes, similiar to dbz wherein they're so powerful they can just destroy the entire planet easily but just never do; or have to invent rules to explain why they can't just make someone explode or slice them in half anymore. You've got a fairy tale avatar, so I guess you like the show? You'll probably like bleach then.
  5. I've actually recently launched a patreon that deals with anime interpolation, you can check it out here: link removed, look up enchancethis on patreon, NO DIRECT LINKS The problem with stuff like SVP is that the algorithm isn't quite up to snuff, which admittedly is a bit weird considering it's been updated for a while now. But then again, this is a big ordeal and can't be solved by just "any" algorithm. You generally have to look for machine learning based technology, wherein the programmer just gives the "tools" to the program, but the program itself needs to figure out how to do it (by studying varying good examples), and this "figuring-out" is done extensively. But anyway, there are several out there, just do a google search and you should find some, though problem is that most of them require a hefty GPU, and even with a pretty good GPU, you'll still have to wait hours or days just for 1 episode. You could still try one of them if you want, I think right now, from my testing, the best one for interpolation would be the "dain-app", it's even got a GUI! But goodluck trying to interpolate anything more than 720p with even a rtx 2080.
