I found a free version of it on YouTube, but its quality was (fittingly) not so stellar. Despite that, it was a good hour and 40 minutes of my time. I had heard about it on TikTok, and I fell in love with the dark, mature, and gothic nature of the art style. Lo and behold, I found out that the series was made by none other than Yoshitaka Amano (who is famous for designing characters in the Final Fantasy series)! And I can certainly see his essence within this film. The animation and music were amazing, the voice acting felt so natural, and the plot was oh so heart wrenchingly tragic. I'm such a sucker for gothic romance, and the magnetism between Charlotte and Meier was mmm... As for D and Leila, there are some great parallels between the two kindred spirits. It made me feel happy for them, for they've found friends in one another. Spoilers below: Spoiler I liked that the ending was ambiguous regarding Meier and Charlotte's fate.
