Animes related to science that aren't psychopass?

I really like realistic animes, where they basically dramatize certain things wether its a sport, like haikyuu, or if its an 'occupational anime'. Is there any that involve a scientist? That isnt psycho pass or Dr. Stone. Something a little closer to reality/ the main story line follows a modern scientist. I appreciate any answers!

As a science / engineering geek who likes realistic speculative fiction myself I'm sorry to say that those kinds of stories are few and far between.  Especially these days when everything is an isekai segue into some sort of fantasy.  Relatively recently there was a comedy / slice of life called Science Fell in Love so I Tried to Prove It that was vaguely sciencey.  Another one that was more geology oriented was Ruri no Houseki / Ruri's Rocks.  That one just finished in the last season.  Going back a bit there were also a couple/few space themed ones like Uchuu_Kyoudai / Space Brothers and Planetes that at least took the underlying science or physics of the story seriously.

That's unfortunately all I can recall at the moment.  Hope that helps.  If anyone else wants to chime in please do so.  I'm always on the lookout for such myself.
