You say the pictures aren't great, but I'd disagree with that. The sunset pictures are amazing and really like the soft colours in the sky and and in in the water.

The nighttime pictures are equally as good, it can be tricky to get nicely exposed night shots but you've captured the scenes perfectly. I really like that illuminated bridge.

Thank you  I did do a color overlay on those with a bit of editing but only a soft blue overlay to bring out the colors more ~ 

I hate taking nighttime pics on my phone lol it just doesn't seem to cooperate right and they aren't the best but they aren't TERRIBLE either

This trip was really fun and the day was a perfect day for it. The man who runs the tour said that this was one of the prettiest sunsets he had seen in awhile so we picked a great day. You took some really good pictures of it too.

Ya I think we got really lucky with the day we picked ~ it turned out to be beautiful and much better than any picture could ever capture honestly

It's hard to capture the true colors and beauty of something on just film. I think it's better to experience it yourself (▰˘◡˘▰) but you still do a darn good job.

That's why I'm always a bit upset when I see people only capturing an event through a phone lense instead of experiencing it in the moment. Of course I understand wanting to capture the memory, but if you're recording the entire memory through a phone you haven't actually experienced the moment. I always take a few pictures or a short video and then experience the rest in real time because there's nothing  like the real thing. Maybe I have an older mindset than most people our age, but I feel as though our entire generation lives life through a phone instead of really living. Alright I'm done thanks for coming to my Ted talk

You have always taken great pictures and these are no exception. The sunset looks really beautiful. Glad you both enjoyed yourself.

No you aren't alone with that feeling Jase. I have similar feelings when I see people recording everything tbh. It's great to capture the moment to share it with others and remember it but it does seem like people do it so much they don't experience it the way they should.

I know where you're coming from. A couple of years back I realised that I was spending so much time at railway galas taking pictures that I wasn't really seeing the trains, so now I make a definite effort to lower the camera and actually look at the trains.

I felt lime I wasn't even really seeing and enjoying it anymore because I was recording the whole thing and really there was no need for that. You do miss the moment doing that so I've stopped taking so many videos when I'm going to events too.

When I go to some events I'll not see people in front of me put their phones down for a second and it's started to irk me in some ways.

I had been the same way at one point and realized I'd leave places and wonder what the hell I just saw and have to look at the pictures or video to see it again because the only memory I'd have is staring at my phone camera recording it.

That's what I realized as well and started doing it far less.

I do too when I go places like I try to take in what I'm seeing more than I used to and usually I don't film things at all anymore I just take some pictures and then go about enjoying whatever it is I'm doing ~

My parents my dad especially always had a thing about making sure we didn't have technology access a lot when we went on trips so we were not doing that. I think I carried that into adulthood a bit because my first thought when seeing something is usual not to film it or take pictures unless it's a pretty sunset then I will probably take some pictures.
