By girlier, I'm specifically looking for something that either is more cutesy, sparkly, and frilly or something that focuses more on makeup, crushing on boys, fashion, and shopping. Tokyo Mew Mew is the only magical girl anime I've seen

    I'll try Wedding Peach

From your comments I think you'll like Wedding Peach as it has most of the things you mention.  It's called Wedding Peach for a reason.  It's  rather 'wedding themed' but don't let that put you off it's got a decent storyline which is set against a large backstory that is slowly revealed. Like all Magical Girl series it's made up of a series of battles with the Bad Guys or their agents and the three girls each have their own Transformation sequence and dramatic Special Attacks. The individual plots are a good mix of amusing incidents and quite serious subjects.

I spill no spoilers, but some things are not quite what they appear to be.

My birthday presents came on my birthday, so they kind of were like actual birthday presents.

It's always nice when your birthday cards and presents arrive on your actually birthday rather than the day before or after.

Happy Birthday 🎂. (for whenever it was)

This is so very true because my mom still yells at me about what I spend money on. She is always telling me I shouldn't be buying anime merch / going to concerts / anime conventions / clothes / etc and that I should be saving it to go on vacations

I can relate to that. My mother was often complaining about how much I spent on buying anime DVDs, merch and going to anime conventions. I pointed out to her that as I didn't smoke or drink my total monthly anime spend was far less than I'd spend in a month on cigarettes and visits to the pub. This muted her protests a bit, but the real issue was that anime was Japanese and she didn't like the Japanese.

The best part about being an adult is definitely having money to do or buy the things you wanted though 🤣

And while your parents might not approve of what you spend your money on there's not a lot they can do about it because it's your money that you've earned, not pocket money that they've given you.

I have liked season 1 of this series as a 6/10 if I were to rate it but the reason I did not finish watching season 2 and 3 yet was because I also was not sure how I feel about the season 1 or if I like it enough to continue watching it. On the one hand I thought perhaps will like it more if I finish all the seasons as some shows become more interesting in later seasons.

If you liked the first series you'll probably like the other two. Series 1 & 2 are I think the better ones, series 3 while being a bit repetitive in background story terms does have a lot more in terms of intrigue and scheming on the part of the various factions in the school.

I like the character Suzune the most in the show even she comes across as anti-social and stuck up but I feel a bit sorry for her. She seems to be a caring person but tries to hide this fact.

The third series gives a lot a insight into her character and why she acts as she does.

I am actually not much a fan of the main character Kiyotaka because the personality of him I don't like very much, though I understand that he is lazy and appears unintelligent on purpose in the show I find the character boring and this is what makes me consider if I would continue with seasons 2 and 3.

In the third series we find out a lot more about his background and early life which explains a lot about how he acts. He's quite an interesting person and not quite as nice as he appears and is quite willing to use people for his own ends.

Somehow I feel since I started the anime I should finish the series and watch the remaining seasons to see if I feel different after finishing it all

This isn't the sort of series I usually watch and while I wouldn't say I enjoyed watching it I'm glad I did because it was an interesting story.

That's true. I feel like people in my life have always had adult expectations of me, even as a child, I never got to be a child. I was always told not to act that way or do such-and-such thing when I would get hyper/excited or just wanted to play. Then when I got in my teenager years if I did anything that wasn't just sitting down and not moving I got my favorite line of "You are almost 14, 15, 16 (whatever age I was closest too next) years old you need to act right". I feel like that took away a lot of my childhood and I could really only be a teenager / kid when outside with my friends or with friends online.

That's so sad, I think the worst thing you can do is rob a child of their childhood. I'll always be grateful to my parents for letting me have a childhood, although once I became a teenager my mother would make the occasional remark that I ought to behave more appropriately for my age, my father on the other hand wasn't too bothered about it.

So as an adult I am doing all the things I wanted to do as a child and couldn't

Ah yes, catch-up time - with the added advantage of having money to do the things you wanted to do. 🙂

That is so true lol since becoming an adult I just constantly find myself looking to relive the nostalgia of being a teenager 🤭  But I still act like a kid and you are only as old as you feel I guess ~

The transition from "teenager" to "adult" can be difficult. People suddenly have expectations of different behaviours and attitudes from you.

So just take comfort from this wonderful quote from C.S.Lewis:

“When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”

I started to watch a new anime I found recently called 'Classroom of the Elite'. I believe it has 3 seasons and I have only watched so far the season 1 but I will continue to watch all of the seasons.

I binge watched all three series last week so I'd be interested to hear what you thought of it.

You might want to finish watching it all before reading my comments a few posts above this one.

  9. I now finished watching the second season of The Dangers in my Heart. I wasn't too impressed with the first season, so I didn't expect much from the second, but I thought that it was generally better than the first and even had some good scenes and amusing incidents, but overall I found it a bit dull and tedious.
