Apologies for the double post, but new less blurry poster for the next movie has surfaced, heck there might even be a better one than this, but stumbled onto this one with no effort, just noticed someone had updated the -tri- page on Digimon wikia, so thought I'd have a look:
-
Sure, no problem, just wanted to check you had wanted to put Honour, in essence, create a new crest, and wasn't a mistake, in which you actually meant Honesty... or Sincerity, gah, it's hard to keep this straight in my head...! There are only two crests that were renamed in the dub: Crest of Reliabilty was originally Crest of Sincerity, though was also referred to as Crest of Honesty, however the words can be synonyms in certain instances; Crest of Sincerity was originally Crest of Purity! Oh, turns out there were Crests of Miracles and Destiny, exclusive to Digimon Adventure: Memorial Goods... whatever that was! I believe I can see what you're saying about Iori being more wise than knowledgable, and about Miyako being knowledgable; although I'm using one of the movies as evidence, Miyako was able to use her technical skills to open an access port (or rather loads of access ports) at Daisuke's request in Revenge of Diaboromon, whilst I believe it was Iori who had the idea to power up Imperialdramon's sword! In relation to Daisuke, and friendship, it's possible friendship is like breathing to Daisuke, he's not aware how socially personalible he is, I mean some of the crest "awakenings" seemed to be related to the chosen children becoming aware to traits they never knew they had! I'm now thinking it might have been better to re-watch Adventure and 02 before Tamers, Frontier, Savers and Xros Wars, so I could make a criteria checklist for crest embodiment, but oh well !

Cheat away ! Made some changes to my post since posting it, kinda started when Mono D. I-Fly accidentally put Kindness down twice for his Tamers Crests suggestions, that I thought we might have to look extend by inferrence, that the Golden and Wonderswan Digimentals have crest equivalents! I've ended up already made one chosen children the embodiment of a Wonderswan "crest" (expand "Xros Wars Crests" tag), and considered whether to make other chosen children the embodiment of alternate crests outside the "nine" (expand "Considerations" tag)! When you say Honour, do you mean Honesty? The original name for the Crest of Reliability? I initially couldn't remember the original name for Reliability when I created the thread, hence leaving it as Reliability, whereas, I changed Sincerity to Purity! In relation to the 02 chosen children, they already "embody" crests, given they have Digimentals with crests on them, so Daisuke apparently is the embodiment of Courage and Friendship, Miyako is the embodiment of Love and Purity, whilst Iori is the embodiment of Knowledge and Honesty! Although we could consider which of the two crests, they embody more! I might change Reliability for Honesty, but I might have to study the various means of Honesty, to ensure the meaning still fit the choices I've made; looking at my choices, it looks like I'd have to review them, although as I said, I will probably consult a Dictionary first, unless I decide to keep it as Reliability!

Ah yes, I can see that too! Thanks, true, I mean more "unusual" than strange, which was why I put "strange", but it could have meant anything I guess, but basically I was referring to what you mentioned!
-
Oh yeah, there were nine crests, so would have been enough to go around - didn't need to go breaking out the Golden Digimentals or Wonderswan ones! Yeah, it is pretty crazy he has an ultimate, but then Hikari has a Digimon that maintains a high level form, rather than the usual Rookie or In-Training form! Ah right, I think Tamers might have been my favourite series, still not finished Hunter (had a Digimon-athon from Adventure to Xros Wars, so by the time I got halfway through Hunter, wanted a break), I class it as a separate series, but Digimon wikia groups it together with Xros Wars! Was re-watching Tamers movies, and can see what you mean about Ruki in relation to Courage, although I was also reading that Chiaki J. Konaka wasn't consulted on Ruki's character for second movie, which might explain continuity errors in the character, however Konaka also praised the movie for showing a side of Ruki's family not previously explored! The bit about Konaka wasn't me saying that she only seemed Courageous in the movie, more it might have been the Love embodiment I feel she has, might be movie based, as I said, will have to re-watch Tamers, but also Frontier, Savers, Xros Wars and Xros Wars II, as although I've put something down for the other series, I'd like to check my decisions do not change! So, think you might put your opinions down for the other series? This thread was meant to be as much anyone's opinion as to embodiments of crests, as well as my own!
-
Hehe, indeed! Thinking about it, the -tri- evolution sequence reminds me of the Tamers evolution sequence, I believe it also featured an "egg", but a "matrix" theme rather than code! It's cool when familiar music pops up, it's like in Pokémon, when they use an adaptation of the game music, or feature music from one of the movies! Is that the one with CheerGalmon? Heard of it, and think I read a transcript, or overview, but I believe that was when the original forum was still going ! Yeah, Disney dubbed it with the Tamers movies and Frontier movie to promote Savers, so showcased the four movies pretty much on top of each other, or something like that! I can tell you from experience of watching the amalgam-movie and then the original movies, you can still grow to hate the dub movie ! Actually mentioned in the "...The Eng Dub's Charm" thread my views on the dub (movie), probably not the best place to voice them - I mentioned how after watching the original movies you notice things like: anomalous actions - in the original movie 3, Daisuke asks some kids the way to Summer Memory, and they point the way, whereas in the dub he doesn't ask them for directions, yet they still have their fingers pointing (the way to Summer Memory); Hikari's "Hey kid [Wallace]!" or something to that effect, Laura Jill Miller's flat dialogue, but then Hikari in that scene was "flat", as the original "energy" of the scene completely different; Mimi didn't appear in the sequence with the older chosen children in the dub (but then she was spirited away right in front of Hikari and Takeru, so might have been difficult to keep her in, when the whole spirited away plot was removed)! The dub's method of how Miyako, Daisuke and Iori travel to, and around America annoyed me (frequent flyer miles, uncle's taxi firm, Pizza Guy, etc.), but I can see the reason why they did it, I mean keeping in hitchhiking and accepting lifts of strangers would probably have caused parents en-masse to storm Fox Head Office! Heh, probably, but it would have been given more of a chance if it had been a separate movie, less editing, probably! Apparently the amalgam-movie's only eighty mintues long because Saban lacked funding to produce a two hour movie! I don't hink I got the full effect of the "Davis bashing", as 02 got split into two parts on UK terrestrial television; maybe it wasn't popular and got dropped, and brought back as people e-mailed and/or wrote in asking for it back, can't remember at what point it stopped, so perhaps it was after they got to the Digimon Kaiser, and thought the series had finished, until some months later they noticed there were unopened "tapes" of 02 ! I actually watched a bit of the German version of 02 (uncut Digimon), as a friend of mine access had RTL II for a while! After 02, I watched a bit of Tamers (dub) before it was dropped by terrestrial television, and it wasn't until Xros Wars, that Digimon returned to UK terrestrial (Frontier didn't come to UK at all, and Savers was on a Digital only channel), not watched much of the Xros Wars dub, disappointed they renamed Akari, although surprised that they kept in the next episode preview, that's usually something that's cut from kid's dub anime! It was also interesting they renamed Xros Wars, given the American use of "X-ing", etc.! Yeah, "Brother, My Brother" is later on, it's when it's a mass battle of clones versus originals! Ruined forever, that said, I kinda prefer some of the other movies, like the second and fifth anyway - second ones got some corny dialogue: Melody: [reading Legend] The world will turn to ash. Misty: Ash, the Legend's talking about you. Ash: Right now I wish my mom had named me Bob instead. Actually speaking of character bashing, there was quite a bit of "Ash Bashing" going on courtesy of Misty, so I think that might have been why I preferred Advance Generation, with May, although as with Tamers, Advanced got dropped on terrestrial, and didn't re-appear until Diamond and Pearl, then they went backwards to Battle Frontier, forwards to Battle Dimensions, Galactic Battle, Sinnoh League Victors, X&Y, and then further back to cover all of Advance Generation they'd previously missed out - that was pretty crazy, shame Universal isn't as on top with UK releases of the movies, after all, they stated they were the English Language distributors for the movies, and yet there's been nothing for the UK after Movie 15! Yeah, Disney used an instrumental rendition of their Frontier opening and evolution theme for openings and evolutions respectively, and some poor photoshop skills, actually I think there are some differences in the music depending on the movie, I'm actually making myself curious about comparing them, luckily I don't think I feel up to putting in the effort required to do so (plug in the hard drive they're on, copy the files over, etc. )! True, that was amusing, although unless it was just the translation, Jou said that he doesn't have time to find a girlfriend, rather than he's looking for, or has one, but then maybe he does say just that ("I don't even have time to find a girlfriend") and whilst I take that as a statement he doesn't have time to do anything but study, others see it as a declaration that he wants a girlfriend! I guess it'll be explained in a later movie, although the lack of acknowledgement of their disappearance is the most worrying thing, though I might have to re-watch episode 1 and pause it on the scene with Maki Himekawa's laptop as she seemed to have GPS tracker locations of the chosen children, not sure if that included Daisuke, Ken, Miyako and Iori, or if they had "lost markers" assigned to them! As you noticed, I did realise that later! I forget about the WonderSwan stories, but that's because I haven't played them, that said, outside of Rumble Arena, not played any Digimon games; when I was younger I had an aversion to games that didn't represent scale properly, so the mismatched sizes of Digimon to Partners and World Map put me off the Digimon World games, saddened by that now! As mentioned I do have Re-Digitise for PSP, and I even have Digimon Story: Lost Evolution, but outside switching them on, and seeing what they're like, haven't done anything else, simply because there are other games I was playing, plus having a translation to follow would be good, which for De-Digitise, last time I checked, only came as part of a translated rom, they hadn't released a transcript, so I'd basically have to simu-play my actual copy and the rom - blown away at the graphics to the opening animation of Re-Digitise though! Want to play Digimon World Data Squad at somepoint, but unfortunately that's for the PS2, and wasn't released in the UK! True, although it seemed like she might be entering into the fold with the main chosen children, and if that was the case, she should have appeared in the epilogue; this'll be where a special edition of the epilogue digitally adds her peering from around a tree ! Other thing is that Mei-chan must be special, else why would Alphamon be after her, and special Digimon are usually used for main chosen children, I'd think! Daguya! Yes, believe that was it, I don't know, but when Meiko and Mei-chan expressed their gratitude, Crunchyroll used "Ta much" as a way to express Meiko's different dialect! True, Orphanimon does compliment Seraphimon, plus I felt it strange that she goes from beast type Digimon, to human type Digimon, and then back to beast, makes me think of Pinocchio in Shrek 2, when he gets turned into a real boy, briefly - "I'm a real boy, I'm a real boy, I'm a-" is turned back into a puppet! Still the fact she has a beast and human mega form does make it interesting from a Frontier standing, given the three Holy Digimon in that series are Orphanimon, Seraphimon and Cherubimon, a two-one split in "favour" of human type, but Serphamon could be Magnadramon instead, and it'd be a two-one split in "favour" of beast type!

Interesting, though I think I'd have put Ruki as the embodiment of Love, not just because of her t-shirt, but relationship with mother, grandmother and father, which would put Takato as the embodiment of Courage, and whilst he does have a dark evolution episode, like Taichi does, I don't think I would put him as the embodiment of Courage, still, this is based off your post, I will have to re-watch the series at somepoint to form my opinion on the subject ! I notice you have Kindness twice, but then, there are nine Tamers, compared to the eight chosen children from Adventure, so makes sense there's have a double, we can open up the floor a bit more, to include the possibility that there were crests of Miracles and Destiny, and if we include the Wonderswan exclusive Digimentals, there are crests of Darkness, Desire, Guts and Vanity! Was your post because I hadn't put anything down for Tamers, or was Tamers the only one you had an opinion for?

Watching -tri- again, the -tri- versions are growing on me, it's just they don't have the same punch the original version did, actually, Brave Heart -tri-, doesn't feel too different to the original! Wish they'd "kept" the original evolution sequence, although -tri- version's not too bad; actually need to compare the different series' evolution sequences at somepoint, felt some series had better ones than others! Agree with you about the BGM! True, didn't mention it here, but did mention it on another thread, I think! Hah right, I guess I'll have to re-watch Adventure and 02 again at somepoint, still even if it's not there, I still like the idea of a love triangle between Sora, Yamato and Taichi, or maybe just the tri-dynamic! It's a shame the amalgam-movie missed out Sora's apology e-mail back to Taichi! It could just be that Yamato and Sora are one of those "off again, on again, off again... on again" couples, maybe it's like Ross and Rachel in Friends, they were "on a break" ! However could be that movie 4 is not canon, I mean we now know the girl with the bike that Jou borrowed isn't "Mrs Jou" - plus if movie 4 is canon, then the dub makes Diaboromon a very sore loser, I mean the villain in all but one of the Adventure/02 movies... let's just check the dub didn't make him the villain in the first movie as well ! Read yesterday that the poster that appeared behind Yamato and Sora in the picture Diaboromon was sending to everyone in movie 4, featured swearing in English, in the Japanese version, edited out in the dub! I also read that the amalgam-movie could have been released as movie 1 and 2, with movie 3 being released as a television movie, it's a shame something like this didn't happen, the dub movie might have come out better that way, in my opinion! Apparently the synopsis for the amalgam-movie still mentions the disappearance of the original chosen children, even though that was cut! If -tri- does get dubbed, I think we might escape the introduction of pop songs into these movies, because if we look at the Pokémon movies, it's only the first movie that featured pop songs (can not watch that movie because of "Brother, My Brother"), the second movie only featured pop songs on its album, and by the third, gone all together! So I think the dark days are behind us, plus if they use Crunchyroll's format, and make it into a series, I don't think we have to worry about pop songs at all! Wonder if they could get the rights to remix the song used during the Fox Kids era, or if they'll have to do what Disney did, and use music they have rights to - Disney also did a very bad photoshop for editing out or modifying original Japanese logo, even on the one movie whose series they did own?! Anyway, there's still enough shipping to go around, I mean you've got the previously mentioned Koushiro and Mimi, and Hikari and Takeru, latter amuse me, in regards to the dialogue: Takeru: I'm taking a friend to my brother's concert. Hikari: [stops] So Takeru's a babe magnet. Takeru: It's not like that... why is Hikari jealous? Hikari: No way. The new animation style makes it difficult for me to keep straight that the series is after 02, (hoping that this is not taken the wrong way) but Mimi looks less... developed in -tri- than she did in 02! Plus they've gone for the leaner Savers Greymon, rather than the dumpier Adventures one, but that's neither here nor there, it'd be stranger if they'd used Xros Wars Greymon ! You mean 02 children's disappearance, or something else? Could be that Alphamon was able to snare children with a D-3, but not children with an Adventure Digivice, or a D-3 that "evolved" from an Adventure Digivice, after all, the D-3 are supposed to open portals to the Digital World, and a door works two ways, three if you use it as a surfboard; Alphamon had hoped to have the powers Shakkoumon and Silphymon as well as Imperialdramon, but unfortunately, as Hikari and Takeru had D-3 that were originally were Adventure Digivice, they couldn't be snared! Was just wondering how they explain the introduction of Meiko, when she didn't appear originally, and thus didn't feature in the epilogue, even though she looks like she might become the *think about it* eighth and three-quarters chosen child -that's with counting Ken and his brother as "they" had an Adventure Digivice originally, hang on, that destroys the theory I mentioned above, damn!! When thinking about why she does not appear in the epilogue (other than the fact she wasn't created at that point), characters such as Rhythm (Savers Movie) and Luca (Xros Wars) came to mind, non-human characters, resembling humans; is Meiko such a character? Probably not, given she moved from elsewhere in Japan, and has a regional dialect, but it could be a cover, plus Tentomon speaks in Kansai-ben, which just makes him awesome! Thanks, EmperorQuinmon pointed that out as well, although it seems you saw that, and replied to my next post later further down! Ah right, well if the story grabs me (probably should, it's a game version of Adventure), I will probably not notice its linear nature, I mean people tell me they didn't like the linear nature of Final Fantasy XIII, I didn't notice, as the story had grabbed hold of me! You and I must have been looking at the same websites way back when, I'm aware of those theories too, even mentioned them in another thread! I know Angewomon evolves into Orphanimon in Adventure (PSP), so do you think -tri- is going to do the same, or stick to movie 3, and use Magnadramon?
-
So the return of Digimon Adventure got me thinking, in both the original Adventure, and sequel 02, the chosen children embodied traits: Courage (Taichi); Friendship (Yamato); Love (Sora); Knowledge (Koushiro); Honesty (Jou); Purity (Mimi); Hope (Takeru); Light (Hikari); Daisuke, Miyako and Iori were each a mixture of two embodiments, whilst the embodiment of Kindness was either Ken and/or Osamu (his brother), -the details escape me at the moment-! So, what about later series like Tamers, Frontier, Savers and Xros Wars, although crests do not play into those series, which characters do you think embody those crests? Did plan to try and work it all out (by re-watching Tamers through to Xros Wars II), but I haven't got round to doing so yet! I do have some ideas, but think they might change when I get round to watching those episodes! Takato Masuda embodies Courage, Jenrya Lee embodies Knowledge, Ruki Makino embodies Love, Juri Katou embodies Kindness, Ryo Akiyama embodies Light, Hirokazu Shioda embodies Friendship, Kenta Kitagawa embodies Purity, Shiuchon Lee embodies Hope, with Ai and Mako embodying Honesty! I'm sure in a couple of my choices (Takato, Ruki, Juri and Shiuchon), however I'm not sure about some of my other choices, although will list my reasons! It would probably help if I'd re-watched Adventure (and 02) first, in order to set "standards", but oh well, I've made the best of what I've got! [spoiler=Crest Reasons] Takato Masuda - although he loves Digimon, and a desire (Wonderswan Digimental) to have one at the beginning of the series, it seems that what triggers most of Guilmon's evolution seems to be Takato's courage, however Ultimate seems to be triggered by friendship; Jenrya Lee - he serves as a mentor to Takato in the beginning, with his knowledge of card combinations, and the knowledge that he is not alone, unlocks evolution to Ultimate; Ruki Makino - although she displays courage, or rather guts (Wonderswan Digimental), it seems that what triggers Renamon's evolution is the love or friendship between Ruki and Renamon, however the evolution to Ultimate seems to be faith (Honesty), or hope; Juri Katou - she displays kindness, looking out for friends (such as reminding Takato if he doesn't get back to work, he'll get in trouble), as well as expressing concern when Leomon is injured, resulting in her becoming his Tamer; Ryo Akiyama - he is chosen as the saviour or light of the Adventure/02 universe (although obviously not embodying Light, as Hikari Yagami embodied Light), given he's "groomed" to be the one to defeat Milleniumon; Hirokazu Shioda - his concern for Andromon/Guardromon results in him becoming a Tamer, and has a strong friendship with Takato resulted in him helping Takato smuggle Guilmon on the camping trip; Kenta Kitagawa - he has the ability to understand MarineAngemon, which could be considered a "child-like" ability to understand non-human noises; Shiuchon Lee - she usually causes Lopmon to evolve into Andiramon in a hope, or desire to help out her fellow Tamers; Ai and Mako - due to Impmon's faith in them, he is able to evolve into Beelzebubmon Blast Mode! [spoiler=Alternatives (Monox D. I-Fly)] Alternatives (Monox D. I-Fly): Takato Masuda - Love Jenrya Lee - Knowledge Ruki Makino - Courage Juri Katou - Kindness Ryo Akiyama - Reliability Kazu Shioda - Friendship Kenta Kitagawa - Hope Shiuchon Lee - Light Ai and Makoto - Purity [spoiler=Lost Tamers] Anyone notice that Juri's friend Ayaka features in the opening animation? She features in middle opening, far left, kinda falls off the screen; shame the series was before widescreen became standard! Was this hinting Ayaka was to be a Tamer, before being dropped for Kenta, or lazy character design on someone's part? Was Ayaka's character design created for the opening or series (which ever was storyboarded first, probably the series), and then re-used in the series or opening (which ever was storyboarded after), but with no link between the two instances? Actually looking at the other children that feature in that same scene, I think Miki and the other two of Juri's friends are also present, but could be wrong! However, unlike Ayaka, who has a stripy top, which makes her quite unique, as a grey silhouette, the others have plain clothing, which doesn't make them identifiable as grey silhouettes! [spoiler=Ryo Akiyama Conundrum] As mentioned above, I put that I see Ryo Akiyama embodies Light, which I base on the WonderSwan games, however question is, should Ryo's Adventure/02 "purpose" serve as a factor in the choosing of his crest embodiment in Tamers? Resumed a re-watch of Frontier that I had on hold for a while, and have come to new opinions as to embodiments for some of the characters, a new re-watch will allow me new opinions or re-affirmations on some of the other characters, but won't be doing that right now! Still for the new opinions, they are about Izumi Orimoto, and Junpei Shibayama; Izumi embodies Honesty, whilst Junpei embodies Friendship! [spoiler=Crest Reasons] Takuya Kanbara - Courage, he even has an episode where he losses and regains his courage, similar to Taichi in Adventure; Kouji Minamoto - Light, although this could be based on the fact that he is the Warrior of Light; Junpei Shibayama - Friendship, although he is a very extroverted person, he has difficulty making true friends; Izumi Orimoto - Honesty, alienated by her time in Italy, she finds it difficult for people to see the real her; Tomoki Himi - Purity, wants to believe the good in people (and Digimon); Kouichi Kimura - Kindness, possibly based on Ken (02), corrupted by darkness, but also wants to find his brother, for their mother! Alternatives (Monox D. I-Fly): Junpei Shibayama - Friendship Given the smaller "crew" in Tamers, do we extend it to include Katsuharu, Teppei, Chiaki and Teruo (the kids that remained in the digital world, and watched over by Angemon)? Actually when they were introduced, I was expecting them to be part of the group, with the water, steel, wood and earth spirits to transfer to their mobile phones, turning them into Digivices! Alternatively, do we include Ranamon, Mercurymon, Arbormon and Grumblemon as embodiments for crests instead? Whilst I see the Ranamon, Mercurymon, Arbormon and Grumblemon that appeared as "incomplete" manifestations, similar to Takuya as Flamemon, but looking at Digimon wikia, evidently that's not the case! Masaru Daimon embodies Friendship, Tohma H. Norstein embodies Love, Yoshino Fujieda embodies Courage, Ikuto Noguchi embodies Honesty, Chika Daimon embodies Kindness, Megumi Shirokawa embodies Light, Miki Kurosaki embodies Darkness, Kouki Tsubasa embodies Desire, Nanami embodies Knowledge, and Ivan embodies Hope! I'm sure in a couple of my choices (Masaru, Tohma, Yoshino and Ikuto), however I'm not sure about some of my other choices, although will list my reasons! The problem is that I base the embodiments on what appears to trigger evolution, and not all evolutions in this series appear to be triggered by an embodiment, they just happen! [spoiler=Crest Reasons] Masaru Daimon - Friendship, although most of the time his Digisoul is awoken by hitting an enemy, there are times where his Digisoul is awoken by his friendship with Agumon; Tohma H. Norstein - Love, new evolutions appear to be awoken by his love, Perfect was unlocked when MetalPhantomon was messing with his memories of his mother, whilst Ultimate was unlocked when Relina was in danger; Yoshino Fujieda - Courage, although it is damped by her heart and Lalamon's song combine as courage (or that's what Lilamon said when she evolved), however she also displays courage when she attacks Gizamon XT with a barrel, whilst defending ElDoradimon; Ikuto Noguchi - Honesty, the evolution to Perfect is unlocked when he comes to the realisation that he a Human with a Digimon heart; Chika Daimon - Kindness, when Piyomon decides to (re-)fight Craniumon, she decides Piyomon shouldn't fight alone, also earlier when Piyomon is turned back into an egg, saved from berserk mode, she is happy; Megumi Shirokawa - Light, given that she always works in partnership with Miki, they could have complementary crest; Miki Kurosaki - Darkness, given she always works in partnership with Megumi, they could have complementary crests; Kouki Tsubasa - Desire, he seems to be only driven by a desire to fight, usually against Masaru; Nanami - Knowledge, she appears to find her intelligence a curse, bored by life, looking for things that may interest her, she is also able to come up with counter-strategies against Tohma; Ivan - Hope, he hopes to better provide for his siblings, so does whatever he can! [spoiler=Character Eligibility] Three other characters could be considered, such as Rentarou Satsuma, Hiroshi Yushima and Suguru Daimon, although from the Crests left, that only leaves Purity, Miracles, Destiny and Vanity! Given that they're all part of the previous Digital World Exploration Team, I'm tempted to "exclude" them on this basis, however I feel that Suguru could embody Miracles or Destiny! Actually thought of someone else, Kurata, who could possibly embody Vanity! As Nanami, Ivan and Kouki are "villains", should they be "excluded"? I wouldn't say because they're artificial "chosen children", because in some instances (for some series), artificial can still be "as real" as the real deal! As mentioned, I base the crest embodiments on evolutionary triggers, but like with some others, Nanami, Ivan and Kouki don't appear to have triggers, so whilst I've put Knowledge for Nanami, it's not an evolutionary trigger, but a trait she exhibits! An alternate crest suggestion would be based on Adventure/02, and how Light and Hope "complement" each other, so whilst Megumi will still embody Light, but Miki will embody Hope instead, however this will then have to change Chika to Purity, and Ivan to Kindess! [spoiler=Xros Wars Crests] Taiki Kudo - Reliability, whatever you need, an extra player in basketball, football, or world saviour, he's your man; Nene Amano - Knowledge, never goes into battle without knowing her opponent's strengths and weaknesses; Kiriha Aonuma - Love, Deckerdramon said so, and who are we to argue with a giant crocodile Digimon; Akari Hinamoto - Courage, Omegamon said, who're we to argue with a WarGreymon/MetalGarurumon Jogress; Zenjirou Tsurugi - Friendship, Omegamon also called this one too; Yuu Amano - Kindness, hates fragility of things, so easily tricked into believing the Digital World is just a game; Tagiru Akashi - Hope, always chasing after Taiki in hope of surpassing him; Ryouma Mogami - Desire, has been chasing after Taiki as well, longer than Tagiru; Ren Tobari - ask me again later; Suzu Airu - Purity, may not be pure in a good natured sense, but has childish mentality to obtaining cute Digimon! Given that Hideaki Mashimo features in the opening (not much however), should he be included in the list? What about the other Allied Hunters (Mizuki -partnered with Submarimon-, or Kiichi Funabashi), or Ken's Team (Ken, Haruki and Nobiru -partnered with ShimaUmimon, Witchmon and Allomon, respectively)? [spoiler=Considerations] Other Characters Should we also include characters like Yuma Kagura (from tie-in game, World Data Squad), or Meiko Mochidzuki (new chosen child in -tri-)? However if we do that, are we opening the floor which chosen children embody which crests for all games, like Digimon Story: Lost Evolution, and Digimon Re-Digitise? Other Crests Should we also look to the Wonderswan games for more crests? Inferring that if there are Digimentals of Desire, Darkness, Guts and Vanity, there are quite possibly crests too, and on the subject of inferring, also infer that there are crests of Miracles and Destiny, given there are Digimentals to those too? I ask this as, after some thought, looking at the remaining "original" nine crests, couldn't think what would be appropriate for Ryouma, so decided to make use of the possibility there could be a crest of Desire! So same as, should we include tie-in game, movie or new characters, should we include crests outside the original nine, or stay with nine, just re-assess the lists, and ensure the lists only go up to a maximum of nine chosen children? I have other chosen children who I think might embody a Wonderswan "crest" more than one of the original nine: Suzu Airu - although I put Purity, in that she had "childish" methods of obtaining cute Digimon, perhaps Vanity might be a better choice, her Vanity in collecting only cute Digimon; Kouichi Kimura - similarly how I put Kouji for the embodiment of Light, and he's the Warrior of Light, should Kouichi be the embodiment of Darkness, given he's the Warrior of Darkness? Double Crest Embodiment As you can probably tell, I'm referring to "Double Spirit Evolution" from Frontier, I can just hear the music playing in my head, though bizarrely, I'm hearing Izumi or Tomoki's voice saying the line, even though they never did, though I would have liked to see JetSylphimon animated! Anyway, what I'm gonna say here, is that given the Frontier "crew" is so low on numbers, rather than increasing the numbers in its rank, we could double up some crest embodiments, similar to 02, there are six chosen children, and as with 02, we know some of the chosen children embodied multiple crests, through the Digimentals, whilst others only embodied one (Hikaru, Takeru and Ken), the latter children were also established elsewhere such as the previous series or Wonderswan games! Still, unlike 02, none of the chosen children have been previously established elsewhere, so seems unfair to "discriminate", between the children, although Digimon does make a habit of this (given Digimon of certain children evolve more than others, or how even though Omegamon, Imperialdramon and Susanoomon are a "partnership" of two children, only one child is considered the Hero of their world - finally got round to finishing Xros Wars II)! Alternatively, we could Triple Up, so similar to how Takuya and Kouji are the only ones who can (currently) perfom Double Spirit Evolutions, they will have multiple crest embodiments, rather than just one! I know the forum is a shadow of its former self, but thought I'd put the question out there, see what people think, and maybe at somepoint, I'll re-weigh in with my ideas, when I've re-watched all episodes! Also who knows, perhaps I'll finally finish that avatar I started editting when the original forum was online, so if you've not guessed already, or see me mention it in a previous post, I've "returned" from a long absence, one that I hadn't planned on, and then the forum went down, but didn't see the need to join the new forum, but -tri- turned up in its "animeforum" van enticing me with sweets, how could I say "no" ? EDIT1: Thought I'd inject a bit of life into the post, so added some colours and images, although they might possibly change! I've also added Monox D I-Fly's suggestions in, as alternatives (see Tamers and Frontier "buttons")! EDIT2: Probably guessed, but colours for chosen children relate to their Digivice, some sense also true for Adventure chosen children as well, as their device changes colour when higher evolution activated! EDIT3: To make the post shorter, put some of it into "spoiler tags", also continued with some edits I tried to make last week, but my browser had decided when I backspaced to correct a mistake, what I "really" meant was to exit editing altogether! EDIT4: Added considerations: do we include tie-in game, movie and new characters, or crests outside the original "nine"? EDIT5: Added some more to considerations, corrected some spelling mistakes, deleted a post, when clicked reply rather than edit, and used smaller image files for series titles!

...ah, had a feeling I could be wrong about Zudomon, the name of his evolution escaped me, but yes, quite true, thinking about it, there's no doubt that it's Rosemon rather than Lilymon, so, it may have taken over ten years, but we finally see everyone at Mega in animated form!

Had wondered what it would take for me to "return", now I know, Digimon Adventure tri! I enjoyed it, although I was disappointed with the -tri- remixes of Butterfly, I Wish and Brave Heart, however it was cool how "episodes" 2-4 had actual opening animation! I wonder if they're going to swap to a -tri- version "Keep on" some movie down the line! So we now know why 02 children weren't in the promotional material, although their disappearance is almost like turning Hurricane Landing!!/Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals! on its head, instead of the older children going missing, it's the 02 children! Unless I'm misreading it, it seems -tri- has brought back Sora's indecision of Taichi or Yamato, given how she tries to dodge Yamato's invite to his concert by she noticing Taichi, and her stress at attending both Yamato's gig and Taichi's football match! Obviously we know what happens in the "end", unless we're now in an alternate universe, after all, we have new character, Meiko, and her partner Mei-chan! Trying to make out the details of the Decision Poster, so Imperialdramon versus Zudomon, with Jou, Mimi, and ahhhh, now I can see, Lilymon, at first I thought it was Sora, then I thought it looks like Akari (Xros Wars), though it couldn't be, and now, I can see, it's Lilymon, once I thought "that doesn't look like a school uniform"! I had planned to finish Xros Wars II before -tri- came out, but I didn't! Another thought that came to me was I should finish Re-Digitise before Decision is out, but then I realised I was thinking of Adventure (PSP), which I don't have - although I still should finish, and start Re-Digitise, just need to do it with a computer so I can simu-play a translated rom, as I don't think a transcript has been released!

Digimon: Digital Monster, The Eng Dub's Charm
senshikoi replied to EmperorQinmon's topic in Anime Discussion
Don't think I could stomach the dub anymore, although I might just be basing that belief on the dub movie, which condenses three movies into one, and then edits it so that there's a common story between at least two of the parts, and once you watch the original three movies, you spot anomalous actions in scenes because of the editing, like the kids pointing to the way to Summer Memory in the original, but in the dub they're pointing for no reason whatsoever! I'm now having flashbacks of Hikari's "Hey kid [Wallace]!" scene from the dub, or words to that effect; Laura Jill Miller's flat dialogue, but probably because Hikari's expression in the scene is "flat", given that the scene's use in the original is completely different! Still, as I said, it could just be the amalgam-movie that puts me off the dub, I do have random scenes (somewhere) from Adventure, 02, Tamers, Frontier and Savers, which I got from a fan site probably hosted on geocities or freewebs from years gone by! You know, it wasn't until I watched the original versions of the amalgam-movie that noticed Mimi doesn't feature in the third part of the movie, in the sequence with the other older chosen children! Actually made a list of the differences, with the originals and amalgam-movie playing side-by-side, though, I think I got sidetracked, when the differences became too numerous! Never saw the dubs to Frontier or Savers, and only a bit of Tamers, I don't think Frontier ever made it to the UK, Savers wasn't on terrestrial television, and Tamers got dropped from terrestrial after a few episodes! I watched a bit of Xros Wars dub, and was surprised they kept the next episode preview, that's something that doesn't happen, although was disappointed they renamed Akari! I'm assuming Joshua Seth was the original Taichi, as there was a different Taichi for the Disney dub of Revenge of Diaboromon, due to commitment issues with the original voice artist, I think! Found out Juri (Tamers) was another character to "suffer" change in voice actor, for Runaway Locomon! If they do dub -tri-, I wonder if they will use terms like "Omnimon" rather than "Omegamon", given you've got Alphamon in these movies, it makes more sense to use Omegamon, but then Omnimon is a pre-established name for the west, it depends what name Saban have used in Xros Wars, that is unless someone other than Saban dub it, like with Pokémon the Origin and the main series (or maybe they were both dubbed by the same people, but used different voices, I don't know)! Crunchyroll's translation I think takes from both Japanese and American, given they use "Omegamon" but also use "Biyomon", I think! I believe I heard that too, is the same thing happen with "Yolei"? -
Alternate evolution lines that are TV-implementable.
senshikoi replied to Koumi's topic in Anime Discussion
An obvious alternate evolution would be Angewomon to Orphanimon, which is an alternate taken by Adventure (PSP), contrary to the evolution that occurs in Hurricane Landing!!/Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals! Angewomon's evolution to Magnadramon just makes me think of Pinocchio in Shrek 2 when he gets turned into a real boy, and then back to a puppet ("I'm a real boy, I'm a real b-") - she starts off as a "beast form" Digimon, becomes a "human form" Digimon, then back to "beast"? I remember thoughts people had as to ultimate evolutions to the chosen children's Digimon, other than those that had been seen, although as for the evolutions I can only remember people thinking Zudomon would either evolve into MarineAngemon or Plesiomon, and Lilymon into Rosemon, although people could have speculated others, I can't remember! I would like to have seen the appearance of the wider Digimental evolutions, including Cheergalmon ! Oh and the other double-spirit evolutions in Frontier, JetSilphymon looks pretty crazy, that it has to be done! -
Did anyone else pick up Digimon All-Star Rumble?
senshikoi replied to Shattered Rift's topic in Anime Discussion
I plan to get the new Rumble game at some point, although I also can't help but feel that it was only made as eye-candy to distract us from the fact that they didn't release Digimon Re-Digitise or Digimon Adventure (PSP) to the west, not that it stopped me owning Re-Digitise (shame 3DS is region locked), I just need time to play it, in front of a computer, so I can "simu-play" with the translated rom copy, as I don't think a transcript has been released! Would have liked to get Adventure, but it either wasn't available when I looked on Amazon, when I bought Re-Digitise and Digimon Story: Lost Evolution, or it was too expensive, I forget which, it has been quite sometime! -
YouTube channel TheOSTDigimon got taken down for...
senshikoi replied to Koumi's topic in Anime Discussion
Got a whole YouTube account full of dead videos, from as Koumi puts it "copyright trolls"! What annoys me is that among some of those dead videos are things that, although were copyrighted, weren't available elsewhere (or at the time), like Friends Bloopers and deleted scenes from the original Star Wars Trilogy, actually the latter was available on the Behind the Magic CD-ROM, but that meant you had to have the CD-ROM! Then there were videos that weren't actually owned by a company *coughPokémonUSAcough*, but the company decided as it was theirs (possibly by extension), can't remember exactly what the videos were now, but think they were of the original (Japanese) version of the series! Don't bother much with YouTube now these days, well, logging in anyway!
