Started Final Fantasy VI the other day, as I've never played it. Picked up the Pixel Remaster awhile back, so I could play III-VI, as I never played them (finished V earlier this summer). Only a few hours in, but I've been enjoying it thus far. Kefka is shaping up to be an awesome villain, hah.

I know of most of those. Got into Amity Affliction a couple years ago, and they're pretty good. I've loved visual kei since I was a teen. Hope you find some you really enjoy!

Put a few hours into .hack//G.U. Last Recode. I started Redemption earlier in the week. While I remembered most of Rebirth when I replayed in, I'd forgotten most of what happened in Reminisce and Redemption. In part, it feels like playing a new game, lol.

I finished Revolutionary Girl Utena today. Other than a few too many...unsubstantial (for lack of a better word) episodes, it was great. One of the best OSTs ever, and great animation. While I didn't understand everything that went on (let alone all of the symbolism), I understand why it's stood the test of time, and is still well regarded. (Shana, on the other hand, while enjoyable, was meh overall. I probably would've enjoyed it more if I had watched it earlier in my history of anime watching.) Started Read or Die TV this week, and it's a fun series. I loved the original OVA when I finally got around to watching it last year, and while the TV series not having Yomiko is a bummer, it's enjoyable so far. A good series to watch a couple episodes at a time. Watched the first two episodes of Gunbuster tonight. It seems like it'll be a good OVA. I haven't watched many pre-'90s anime, so I've been trying to watch at least some of the big ones. Tbh, haven't seen as many from the '90s as I'd like, either, but I've seen enough that I'm less focused on them atm.

It's not as combat-focused, but .hack//SIGN is a good series, although not strictly fantasy (takes place in an MMO, but isn't separated from the offline world). Not action-packed, but there is action. I second Scrapped Princess. Also, they're not amazing, but The Tower of Druaga, and it's sequel The Sword of Uruk might be up your alley. They were enjoyable, but again, not anything mind-blowing.

The original Mistborn trilogy was great, imo. Wax and Wayne was good, but I didn't like the vibe as much, but certainly worth a read. Probably at least in part because I wasn't expecting the tone and setting change. (I still have to read the final volume of it, myself.) I feel you on Stormlight. They're really long - I didn't re-read them, lol. I've probably forgotten quite a bit, but they were still enjoyable, and I remembered enough. I haven't read anything about fan reactions to Wind and Truth, but I loved it. I didn't play much of Dishonored, but that seems like a cool setting for a novel. Almost done with The Intrigues of Haruhi Suzumiya, just have the epilogue and afterward left. It's taken me quite a while; the first half I read sporadically over months, lol. It was enjoyable, but I have to be in the mood for light novels. I've blown through the second half the past few days, and it's added some interesting developments to the series.

I'm about halfway through Shakugan no Shana. It's enjoyable, but nothing spectacular. I've wanted to watch it for a long time, because it was big back in the day. Also watching Revolutionary Girl Utena. As a fan of yuri, it's been on my list for quite awhile. I'm enjoying it so far, even though it can get a bit meandering. The mistreatment of Anthy so far by other characters has been rather...surprising, to put it mildly.

It worked well as a stand-alone novel, but considering how Sanderson seems to tie all of the Cosmere together, it's not entirely surprising. I'll probably have to re-read it when new ones come out, it's been so long. Have you read any of Sanderson's other books? I picked up Tress of the Emerald Sea, so that'll probably be my next one to read. Only a couple chapters in.

Indeed! Reading has always been a favorite past time of mine. Although I do go through slumps. I finished Brandon Sanderson's Wind and Truth recently, which unfortunately took quite some time. It was a really good end to the first part of The Stormlight Archive, but I'm not looking forward to how long it'll be before the next arc starts. (IIRC, he's said he's going to write all of era three Mistborn, and a couple Elantris sequels before he finishes Stormlight.) Also finished The Myth of Sissyphus by Albert Camus. I genuinely enjoy philosophical-type works, even though I usually feel dumb after reading them. I understood some of what I read, but not even close to all of it, lol. OP, what're some of your favorite books/authors?

I got the plat for Persona 3 Reload today - which happens to be my first plat, after eighteen years of having a PSN account, hah. I don't usually care about them, but P3 is one of my all-time favorite games, so I wanted to try for it. It wasn't particularly difficult, just time consuming. I'll either continue my file for the FFX-2 remaster next, or play something I haven't actually played before.

Albi here. I came across this site when I was looking around for active forums, as I've long since grown tired of (mainstream) social media. I also miss being a member of forums, because I used to have a blast on a couple from about 2009-'14. Partly due to nostalgia, and partly because the format is better, imo. Not really much to say. I started watching anime as a kid, via stuff airing on TV, then started watching (genuine) fansubs around 2007. Except for a period of a few years, I've always been watching. Although, I do re-watch stuff pretty frequently. Other interests are gaming, music, reading, and films. Cheers. ^^
