I finished Revolutionary Girl Utena today. Other than a few too many...unsubstantial (for lack of a better word) episodes, it was great. One of the best OSTs ever, and great animation. While I didn't understand everything that went on (let alone all of the symbolism), I understand why it's stood the test of time, and is still well regarded. (Shana, on the other hand, while enjoyable, was meh overall. I probably would've enjoyed it more if I had watched it earlier in my history of anime watching.)
Started Read or Die TV this week, and it's a fun series. I loved the original OVA when I finally got around to watching it last year, and while the TV series not having Yomiko is a bummer, it's enjoyable so far. A good series to watch a couple episodes at a time.
Watched the first two episodes of Gunbuster tonight. It seems like it'll be a good OVA. I haven't watched many pre-'90s anime, so I've been trying to watch at least some of the big ones. Tbh, haven't seen as many from the '90s as I'd like, either, but I've seen enough that I'm less focused on them atm.
