Wickett
Between it being about gaming and Japan, I thought I'd start a thread for this in case anyone else here is as interested in the ongoing conversation (if you want to call it that) between Ubisoft and a large portion of the Japanese people. I, personally, feel like it has raised many questions and exposed many holes in the tactics that Ubisoft has used, and I'm glad that Japanese fans of the series are calling it like they see it. In case the community isn't as interested in this as I am, I'll save some typing for later. Would be curious to know what everyone thinks.
Detelpa725
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is wild. People are losing their minds over the setting, characters, and historical accuracy (or lack thereof). Some fans are hyped for the feudal Japan vibe, while others are nitpicking every detail. Wickett
I thought Ubisoft had already spoken to their "Japanese scholars" and confirmed this to be a historically and culturally accurate game? Sadly, thousands of uneducated and/or shameless young Americans believed their "authentic" marketing campaign, putting Japan in a situation where they have to address this to set straight what is actual Japanese culture and not a false depiction. It also was discussed that tourists are climbing on and painting graffiti on their Torii's (gates). Do your homework before you visit another country and show some respect. It's not that hard.
