Great game. Can't say the same for the sequel but Zero Dawn was a solid adventure. Still mostly playing Cyberpunk 2077 and waiting for Battlefield 6.

The only sports anime I've ever watched was Kuroko's Basketball, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes anime, not even necessarily sports anime, but I don't believe it got a dub.

Burn the Witch. No idea what's going on with Kubo's second anime but it had a promising start and then just vanished.

I'm hoping the second season of Dragon Raja gets better. It cracks me up when it randomly decides to save a little bit of money on the animation cause man does this anime struggle sometimes. Dandadan is still great, unsurprisingly, as well as Kaiju No. 8.

Definitely these two, and then I'd add Hiroshi Kamiya who is my personal favorite. He's Levi Ackerman from Attack on Titan, Akashi Seijuro from Kuroko's Basketball, and Yato from Noragami. he always sounds hilariously unbothered and it's great. Other great roles that Junichi Suwabe had was Juzo Inui from No Guns Life and Aomine Daiki from Kuroko's Basketball.

That was actually a really good watch. Still watching Dragon Raja and will be checking out this weekend's episode of Kaiju No. 8 tonight.

I randomly started watching Dragon Raja a couple nights ago, later realizing that it's based off a video game. I'm two episodes in with the first being about 48 mins long and I'm pleasantly surprised so far. The art suffers from random still shots of ultra realism and odd color choices but I'm assuming that's the Chinese video game adaption flare going on there. The humor is pretty solid too.

I've only watched 3 episodes and I just have that feeling that it will get worse instead of better. The characters interrupting each other with well-timed cuts has kept me entertained if nothing else, but at some point I'd like to see Nagumo have another actual cool detective moment.

I started Detectives Are Crazy These Days! the other night as a relaxing and humorous watch and it's been pretty good. Also started Sakamoto Days on Netflix. In some ways I like it okay and it has its moments, but not sure if I'll hang with it yet.

Banger opening and certified W of a main character. Really liked that anime.

Call me shallow but I'm not watching a vending machine. These two are carrying the summer for me. Excellent anime.

I finished The Promised Neverland. The first season was brilliant, really enjoyed it. I got about 4 episodes into the second season and guessed that the anime had been significantly altered to fit a time frame. I didn't look anything up until I finished it for spoilers sake, and sure enough I got it right. I don't know why adaptions would ever take place if you aren't actually going to adapt it. If the manga is too dark for the audience you want to attract, don't adapt it. Period. In the end I considered it only decent, and would give it a generous 7/10 but only because they got the first season right, and it was thankfully really good. Go figure, because they followed the manga. Watched the first episode of Kaiju No. 8 season 2, very good. Still really liking this anime. Watched the first episode of Dan Da Dan season 2, also really good. Glad the new studios didn't change the art style too terribly much as that was so much of it's charm. Started the classic Cowboy Bebop because I've never actually seen it before, so I'm getting through it on the side.

I can start this by stating the obvious, and that's everyone has a right to their opinion, but I'm a little lost here. What about Attack on Titan wasn't deep, and why would you make that claim even though you only watched less than 1/4 of it? Also, was it a matter of gore and darker themes that turned you away from it? Because depending on tastes and age this is a fair critique to make.

Started season 2 of The Promised Neverland. Very solid watch so far.

That is unfortunate. That's alright though because I'm going to start Promised Neverland tonight as it was a recent recommendation so I can knock it out first.

Currently rewatching the first season of Kaiju No. 8 in anticipation of the new season coming out.

This aged like milk that was already one day past its expiration. By episode 8 or so this anime had dropped off so badly and had become a mess of unexplained phenomenon and inconsistencies that I could barely get through it. I managed to dig in and finish it but wouldn't you know it the end was just as bad as the middle. Upon completing the show I realized it didn't get a full adaption from the manga and I am not surprised by that, at all. Apparently the first season wasn't adapted well, wasn't received well in Japan, and therefore never saw a season 2. Probably for the best. 3/10 for decent fight scenes, that's it.

If I may ask, what genres have you leaned more towards as you've grown a little older?

Exactly, it isn't that one single scene is going to turn you into a drunk or make you addicted to nicotine, but it's an influence in conjunction with everything else in life, plus genetic predispositions that tilt you in certain directions. I enjoy my bar at home and making drinks and such, which is why scenes like this often pop in my head. It's also cool that I have essentially the exact same drinking glasses.

I feel like some people are lying to themselves in here. We're lifelong fans of some of these anime characters and you want to try and claim that they don't influence you at all? Even if you don't act out smoking or drinking, you never put it together in your head that lighting up a cigarette or sipping a cocktail would be like that cool anime character? Again, this isn't the same as acting it out, just the influence of it.
