Dr. Stone was mediocre at best in the beginning and by the time I suffered through to the end of season 2 I was dying inside. Natsu and Juvia would have been better. Two airheads and conflicting abilities would have been funny. Gray and Lucy would also have been better seeing as how they both are hardly ever dressed. I'm fine with Gajeel and Levy. The last one being hidden makes that so funny. It's like these are bad, but this is even worse.

If I care enough about a series to read the manga instead of wait for the anime, or because the manga will likely never be adapted, I will read it digitally. I don't have a particular place I like to go for digital, as long as it's not obviously illegal or a suspicious site. The one set that I have physical copies of is Psycho Pass' Inspector Shinya Kogami simply for collectors/decoration purposes.

Yeah I'd say so.

Cool, I see that our state of Michigan opened up America's first manga cafe a couple of years ago. I'd like to see more in time, what I've found online just now about these looks really neat.

Right, look at what happened with Death Note. The ending was originally going to be around episode 26 or 27 as I understand it, and they were pushed go further until finally they dug their heels in and backed out. Another agreement from me. If you're going to make the entire story the same concept on repeat then at the very least the ending needs to be super strong, and I simply found it underwhelming. I'd personally also add Dr. Stone to the list of disappointments. The overall idea and execution was interesting in the first season, but dear goodness the entirety of the second season was a gauntlet to get through.

I truly appreciate older animation for what it is, but that appears to me as a very welcomed facelift. I've enjoyed the fights a lot so far, and it's interesting to me that the new version would be more manga accurate. Generally these things go in the wrong direction.

Based on the sharpness of the resolution I'm pretty sure I'm watching the remastering. I am correct in assuming nothing was changed, yes? I'd rather not watch a botched job of a classic.

Rurouni Kenshin. Never had watched it and am enjoying it so far.

Yes, solid anime. I had my nitpicks but I enjoyed it and would have loved to see that world explored a little more.

I agreed with basically everything you said but I'll admit I don't know what series you're referencing here and am curious to know. I'm okay with longer shows that can span 3 or 4 seasons, but it's far better if the mangaka already knows what the ending will be, and everything you're watching is just build up to a well thought out conclusion. As you say, this is far easier to do with one or two season shows. Was Evangellion even good at all? Aside from Cruel Angel's Thesis there was no pleasure derived from that show at all.

SAO's first season was one overused trope after another but at least it was done well. After that it progressively became more and more weird with the isekai feel where every single girl wanted to have his child but he's with Asuna. Quickly became not my thing.

Anime discussion has been a bit slow as of late so I thought I'd chuck a random topic out there and hope it hasn't been done recently already. List an anime or two that you've watched that started off great and by the time you were close to the end you were only finishing it to say you had, and preferably why as well, if you can remember specifics. For me it would first be Aldnoah Zero, interesting characters and overall plotline but every development I hoped I would see didn't happen and by the end I felt like the direction and whole point of the story had been completely missed plus a serious lack of character development. Cannot recommend at all and it's a real shame. The second one I have, however, is way worse. I finished 86 later last year and I have to say I don't think I've watched many anime more overrated in my opinion. It starts sad and meaningful, takes a weird turn in the beginning of the second season, gets hopeful, gets weird again, and then I won't say much else for spoilers. Just tragic, again in my opinion. Somehow it has very positive ratings. What about everyone else?

Bleach is the worst written of the three with One Piece in the lead. It is not, in any way, fair to say that Bleach's writing dropped off after the first arc. That's a Redditor level ignorant take if I'm being brutally honest. It was rushed at the very end as are many high profile manga unfortunately but the quality stayed steady up to the Fullbring arc.

I should have been more clear probably about what I wanted you to clarify. I'm curious as to why you don't think the Japanese VAs are good at voicing the characters.

This is a truly stupid fact of the anime community. I do not understand the hate and it's entirely unnecessary. Take @Zeref for example, he used dub to learn English the same way we do sub to help learn Japanese. I think I may be missing something here. Why is it a negative that it's their native language?

drama Amazon NEEDS to get SUED for this...

Never thought I'd see a self-proclaimed 11 year old Christian buying an anime cat girl body pillow declare war on Jeffrey Bezos. -

I really can't stand a lot of things in Japanese comics

Curiosity killed the cat. It's me... I'm the cat. If this thread doesn't get taken down I'll bite on a couple of the points you made and hope also that you're not a Bot or something because honestly I can't tell, but am trying to be respectful to different dialects within text. To address the broader point (I believe) of your posts, I never have gotten the impression that harem anime was a very accurate representation of Japan's dating scene and how the sexes interact with one another. Usually the premise alone of a harem is beyond unrealistic and often resides in a strong science fiction theme. There are also freight car loads worth of anime/manga where the women are delicate introverts slowly given strength by a strong male protagonist who needs a little humbling himself, resulting in a nice relationship between the two. I do feel like you're taking a single genre and misapplying it to the entire country's youth. Please let me know if I'm way off the mark in what you're trying to say. -
I know that AI is being used a great deal in school these days which is definitely not a good move, and until the average teacher can begin to recognize it students will continue to get by with it. I'm not sure about the writing community and things like manga dialogue. The whole idea behind writing your own story is because you want it to be your own words, so hopefully that spark of creativity doesn't die out, though I'm sure it will eventually be affected. I tend to believe that one day books will be a treasure to a select few, and I don't delight in that at all.

Don't. You're welcome. In all seriousness, I don't know if it was an Ergo-Proxy type where the information is there you just have to study it for hours on end to understand the subtle story progression, or if I'm just grade A stupid, but I didn't enjoy it, the ending did not satisfy, and I finished it just to see if it would pleasantly surprise me in the end... it did not. Hit a dry spell after finishing my rewatch of Fire Force and Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions second season, so I picked up Tower of God and so far it's at least a little better than I expected.

If I was to go back before Kuroko's Basketball and to my childhood, I'd have to give most of the credit for anime to Zoids: Chaotic Century. I also of course watched Pokemon, but Zoids fit the typical anime mold more and following that show was a blast a kid. Also used to make my own Zoids out of Kinex toys which was fun.

They'll have to figure out where your consciousness comes from first, and then you'd need to be in the top 1% of financial prosperity.

No I just wanted to watch people argue about the origins of christmas.
