Personality types

I've recently been taking a re-interest on personality types, for some odd reason. I want to know what type of people use this forum.

 

If you don't know what personality types are, it's an theory that people fit into 16 different types of personality types, or often called MBTI.

Of course these personality types are usually extremely stereotypical, and don't represent every person. But I do feel that these personality types fit into a lot of people.

It's basically horoscopes, but with actual studies and not completely baseless.

You're proving no one if you end up getting INTJ or INTP on your 3rd try. Just answer honestly.

ISTP's are rational and logical people, and have a compelling drive to understand the way things work, and like to apply this knowledge on practical concerns.

They typically don't have interest in theories and such if it doesn't have a practical application.

While they are good at analyzing physical objects, they often apply this in social activities.

An ISTP analysis and watches before striking, and because of ISTP's constant analyzing and understanding of reality, often excel in physical and mental activities even as beginners.

While ISTP's can focus on a subject intensely and improve at a rate that's above average, they often lose interest fast when they feel like they mastered the subject or get bored of it. Because of this ISTP's usually have an abundant of hobbies and tricks under his belt. With all these hobbies and interest, ISTP's are usually popular people, because of ISTP's connection to multiple hobbies.

 

All this and said, ISTP's have a tendentious to be stubborn and irresponsible. They are often insensitive and hurt people around them without realizing it with there brute honesty. and are often bad lovers because of their dislike to commitment. They can also make risky behaviors being completely oblivious of those around him.

Also, ISTP's are NOTORIOUSLY infamous for being hard to understand. While you can easily strike up a friendly friendship with an ISTP, it's mostly likely never going to get passed that. ISTP's are generally pretty private and independent.

These are just sterotypes of ISTP's and don't apply to all ISTP's, like I said before.

Also, this is just scratching the surface of an ISTP. ISTP's and every personality type have a lot of depth to it. I just didn't want to write every aspect of an ISTP because the amount of typing I would be doing.

But it's fun to talk about them, and see what type you are.

Oh yes, classic Myers & Briggs personality test.

 

I think they do have value as a self-reflection tool. It's easy to get caught up in the routine of life. By that I mean time can fly by quickly when you have full-time commitments with work, family and friends.

 

Doing things like personality tests to me is a refreshing way to sort of pause life for a moment and gain a new perspective as from memory these tests really do force you to reflect on events to answer them.

 

I'll do it sometime soon and report back on my result.
