ItsSammy
So, today I decided to make a forum about Harley Quinn ... I know Suicide Squad came out months ago but I've recently been thinking about how they could have gotten a much better actress to play Harley, so I decided to make a list of a few actresses who I think would make a great Harley Quinn. Now, here's a few pictures of Harley in her comic outfits. Most of these pictures were taken from actual comic covers while a few were fan art, but did you notice how all of them had the same re-accruing traits? Harley's big smile, blue eyes, and round face shape. Now, while I was watching Suicide Squad I noticed that their Harley had little resemblance to the actual character ... For instance: her face shape doesn't match, I thought her eyes looked a bit smaller than they should seeing as Harley has Anime like eyes, her smile didn't really match either since it always seemed to be lacking something ... Crazy. Now I know some people say that no one could look exactly like Harley Quinn, but you don't have to get it perfect, just close enough and then add really good acting where it actually seems like the character came to life. So after a few hours I put together a list of actresses I think could be a really good Harley ... I know Kate Upton may not have much acting experience but her face shape is almost identical to Harley's, her face and features would work almost perfectly, but, if she couldn't pull off the act then even the almost perfect resemblance could not make it work well enough; it just depends on whether or not her she could actually act well enough to get the role. I also think Chloe Grace Moretz could possibly pull of being Harley Quinn quiet well. Her face shape is fitting, and her eyes, if enhanced, would work quiet well. She might look a bit young but that just means she'd lean towards the more cartoony side of Harley Quinn which most people love, her acting skills are great and I think she could play Harley very well in a movie. Although Amanda Seyfried may have a slightly narrower face shape then the other two I mentioned above, she does have the big Anime eyes like Harley Quinn and I think she could be a pretty great Harley. Although, this hangs on whether or not her acting is good enough ... I'm really not sure since I've only seen her in a few movies, but if she could pull off the crazy Harley Quinn smile I think she'd work well. Zooey Deschanel was also one the actresses I thought could, possibly, do well as Harley Quinn. Although she doesn't exactly have a round face it's still not really narrow ... Her eyes are rather big and bright which works since Harley's are very big, but it may not work out as well as the others since her nose is a bit bigger than Harleys and I'm not sure if she could really pull off a crazy smile. She'd also have to play a slighter older Harley since her features are a bit different but could possibly fit the more mature looking Harley Quinn art style we see in a few comics. Alexandra Daddario is one of the best actresses who could play Harley Quinn, her face shape is fitting, her smile is perfect for the role, and her body shape would work amazingly. She can act magnificently as well as we can see in the Percy Jackson series, and I think she would have been the best pick for Harley Quinn. So there you have it, the actresses that I think could play a really great Harley Quinn. Do you agree, or have any others you'd like to add to the list? ... Something else I think would be really cool but might not work because of the actresses age and the fact that they want to have someone who can be in movie series for many years is, if they got Tara Strong to play Harley Quinn. I mean, she's voiced Harley in almost every game and even a lot of the cartoon movies so all the fans are used to her voice anyways; She also Cosplayed as Harley Quinn before and looks rather good. The one problem is her age, and at 45 years old she wouldn't be able to play Harley for very long and they'd have to change her out quiet soon anyways ... I just think it'd have been cool for her to have played Harley in an actual live action movie, once. Edited May 1, 2017 by Guest
The Bunk
I thought Margot Robbie was actually one of the only highlights in that cancerous film. She brought some life into it
ItsSammy
I thought Margot Robbie was actually one of the only highlights in that cancerous film. She brought some life into it To people who haven't read Harley Quinn comics she probably seemed like the best thing in the movie, but seeing as I read her comics and love her character I just couldn't stand seeing the movie version ... She never really made any jokes that were actually funny or sounded like something she'd ever say, she had quiet a few scenes that were majorly out of character, her voice was not nearly squeaky enough and had a few random high pitched, Boston-y accent sounding times that were just cringey, her look was way different than the actual comic Harley, and she never skipped, used her hammer, and she called Joker, "Puddin'." instead of "Mist'a J." even though the latter is her most used nickname for him and she only calls him Puddin' a few times in the comics. You gotta remember, filmmakers make movies that appeal to a wide audience, not just for fans of the source material. The average movie goer won't care what Harley was like in the comics since they never read them. I myself haven't read the comics, although I do remember Harley from The Batman animated series. Regardless, it didn't bother me because I thought Margot Robbie delivered well with what she was given imo. Would it have been nice to see those quirks on screen? Sure, but it's not really required to adapt a comic book character with 100% accuracy, as long as you can still make them interesting characters. I do agree that there were some problems with her, but I'd say that's more because of the terrible script. In fact, I doubt anyone else could have done any better. Even the actresses you named would also probably just end up being eye candy and have to trudge through the bad writing like the rest of the cast did. ItsSammy
Even the actresses you named would also probably just end up being eye candy and have to trudge through the bad writing like the rest of the cast did. Yeah, true ... Although, seeing someone who looked more like Harley Quinn and could actually pull of the crazy smile would have been way better even with the horrible writing ... Now, I know the movies are made for wide audiences who haven't read the comics so Hollywood uses big names to draw people in, but I felt like this whole movie was a complete flop and they just butchered Harley and Joker like there was no tomorrow. Me, being a HUGE Joker and Harley fan, was completely disappointed and quiet disgusted with how they decided to portray these amazing characters; they changed them completely. The Bunk
Yeah Jared Leto's Joker was terrible, that I definitely agree with. Waaaay too over the top and corny for my taste and he didn't even need to be in the movie to begin with.
ItsSammy
Exactly. They veered so far off the actual Joker's path that there was nothing left that connected the two, in any way.
