K-on twas good slice o life, not comedic gold but just relaxing

Ok ghost stories has a bit of a weird story. The original japanese dub sold.... very very poorly and the company didn't really want to spend much on an oversea's market so they sold the right to whoever the hell did it i can't remember at the moment. Anyway they were only given a very short set of instructions on how to dub it, 1 the character/monster names can't change and 2 the overall plot of the episode can't change. So the company went nuts and did a full gag dub making fun of everything. While no longer the childrens show it used to be it had it's rating turned up and sold much better as an adult comedy piece, so much so that it actually had the english dub, subbed and resold in japan to much more success. Personally i thought the show was hilarious but i did go into it on the recommendation that it was a gag comedy piece. It's also no where near breaking any laws apart from maybe germany cause im sure there's a nazi joke somewhere. I'd recommend watching it if you want what is basically the first abridged series but if the comedy's not for you that's fair. Also i think this is the only dub of it's kind so i wouldn't exactly say dubbers are ruining anime.

Yea loved that show, was one of the better ones from that season i tink, and yea she's not as menacing its her done in the same form as konosuba's season 2 OP when they dance.... the contrast amuses me

Hrm, anime i haven't but I've read a few manga that's scary and the author I'm about to recommend does quiet good work. Junji ito's work isn't just gorey (although it can have that at times) but revolves around making the mundane horrifying or taking a weird concept and playing up the horror of that. One example is the fault of amigara which is about people shaped holes appearing in a mountain. I can't remmember the name of the next one but it involved balloon heads murdering people (if you google it it should come up). Of course there is his most well known one uzumaki which is all about spirals and that gets pretty spoopy. But yea next season or the one after is supposed to contain a sort of compilation of his various works. Hope this helps if your looking for scary.

Hey new here, but i second lucky star its kinda soft and chill so it wont distract, maybe planetes as well, at least the earlier episodes are chill as well. Personally i download podcasts myself.

Hello all, long time anime fan and seasoned poster over on RWBY forums which unfortunately closed down recently Tis an australian and very very stereotypical one at that so keep the insults coming and hilarious and i hope to have a good time. I'm sure we'll get to know eachother more during my time here but i figure knowing some of my personal likes in anime as well as a few dislikes will be an icebreaker I like a main lead who's either crazy smart, plain ol crazy or a bit of a nutter. Tanya the evil is a recent example of this but also characters like Joseph Joestar or neptune from the neptunia series (best girl is plutia though ) i tend to mainly stick to comedy and slice of life animes but will branch out if the action is awesome enough (sengoku basara, drifters as examples) , or there's really smart plot ala baccano. Or sometimes just some dumb sexy fun (monster musume) Dislikes the standard generic protagonist (we all know him), characters who moan a bit too much instead of getting their shit into gear and funnily enough shows that rely too much on fan service. Anyway hope that gives a bit of insight and feel free to chat or ask questions
