What's the general consensus on Space Dandy?

Hey guys. As someone who is new to anime, it can be kind of daunting to pick and choose shows to watch and to purchase. I've gone off of reviews and word of mouth, and also just googled such topics, but I'd love to get opinions from the forum. In your guys' opinions what are the must watch anime and for a collection/collector the must own anime. Like what anime out there is considered the pinnacle of Anime?

Only problem I'd say is I'm obsessed with bluray's and not just that, but limited editions Seriously if I find out a release has a LE I tend to go for that purchase...! But I think I'll definitely look into those sales and such to see my options. Definitely doesn't hurt! It might be nice to eventually get bookcases/media cases with doors. But so far dusting hasn't been that big of an issue for me cause my collection is quite small. If I were to eventually get ones with doors they'd of course have to be see-through so I could see the collection. Heres m my current set-up- But I don't like the black background for my anime and the bookcase is super cheap. The back part is paper and not real wood. And this arrives literally tomorrow: Its going to be my dedicated anime shelving. I think it'll class up my display quite a bit. What do you guys think?

Thanks so much cose! Code geass is on my wishlist, and I just received anohana the series in the mail. (Still have yet to buy the film. Steins Gate I already own. The rest I'll look into. Heard very mixed things about Darling in the Franxx so I haven't pulled the trigger on that one. Konosuba is something I just read about haha! The rest I'll check into for sure. Fate overwhelms me with all the different versions. But I'm considering getting into that series.

Yeah I think you're right. I'm trying to diversify my collection but I think as luck would have it, most of what I currently own is romance/ slice of life. So I'll go with that being my favorite for now.

I second Koneko. But I haven't seen too many series with loli's in them yet.

I haven't watched enough anime to say for sure but so far probably the emotional ones. My faves are "your name" and "A silent voice". I'm not sure what category those would be considered. Second would probably be comedies. My favorite movie genre is horror but I haven't watched enough horror anime's to be able to say yet. All I own is Shiki and Elfen lied. Haven't watched either. I guess I could include HotD, I really liked that one. I don't think Death Parade is considered horror is it?

I just preordered 4 AoT nendoroid figures and 2 "your name" nendoroid figures for my collection. I'm honestly just trying to catch up on anime I've missed out on that have already been released. I have 104 items on my rightstuf wishlist!!! Granted some of those are figures but most are bluray box sets I despirately want. Also just bought a brand new bookshelf to display my collection so I'm extremely excited to upgrade the look of where my anime will call its home haha! Seriously I've become obsessed! I used to be a statue collector, but the way I see it, $1000 and I'll just about be caught up with my current anime wants. That should just about be enough for my whole wishlist. Whereas $1000 would be just enough for "1" Prime 1 statue. So yeah, I don't collect statues anymore. Now it's all about anime and the oddball small anime statue or figure. And honestly, getting to watch my collection gives me more joy than just having a statue on the shelf!

Thank you beocat. Currently working on finishing up K, then I'm on to the next series. So far I've really enjoyed everything I own. I went ahead and PO'd a silent voice cause I watched it on Netflix and was blown away! So yeah I'll need to add that to the collection for sure!

Just finished Death Parade. It was AMAZING!!! One of the best things I have EVER watched in my life. It was so so good! I was thinking of watching something else before I resume DxD. Maybe I'll choose Claymore then! I haven't seen those films yet but they are on my must list for sure!

Anime has really surprised me with how emotional and interesting and just plain fun it can be! Some of the concepts anime has shown me has been so unique that I can't believe I've missed out on the medium before. i just watched "your name" and legit teared up! It seriously blew me away! Hi! I'm extremely new to anime even though I've been collecting for a couple years now. I have almost 2 shelfs full now but most of the anime I've bought I haven't even watched yet! I just finished High School DxD New and I really needed a break from all the you know what in that show so for a complete change of pace I just started Death Parade.
