  1. I use a few different programs... Free: Inkscape for basic vector editing when I don't feel like being fancy GIMP 2.0 for a more complicated and powerful Photoshop alternative (also a better replacement for paint.net) Paid: Clip Studio Paint Pro (the successor to Manga Studio) for all my illustrations using my graphics tablet
  2. Why is Shrek hanging out in the McDonald's Play Area?
  3. No problem! Let me know if you have any more questions! (Actually, Microsoft released a new expansion for Age of Empires II last year digital only.)
  4. Okay, the 1989 show is actually quite good if you can accept all the cheese. It makes a great viewing with a bunch of Zelda Fans. It ran as a side-show/short during the first season of the Super Mario Brothers Super Show (another classic) and it a very short series, as well as all-American. It looks like there are tons of DVD copies floating around Ebay if you're interested.
  5. Welcome to the forums! I'm brand new here, too. Good luck and have fun!
  6. Thank you alll! I really appreciate the kind words. I can see you're all very friendly, so maybe it won't be so hard. As far as favorite anime goes, ChibiChan12, it was Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji) for quite a few years, but I started One Piece about two and a half months ago and have absolutely fallen in love with the show. I'm currently on episode 158. I've never taken the time to sit down and really watch Sailor Moon, but every time I do watch some is really enjoyable. Most people seem to have a lot of the same problems with Sailor Moon that they have with One Piece, that it's too long and has too much filler. I'm more interested in the journey and the messages the shows impart than the conclusion, though. And for video games, to those who are interested, I still do play them, just not religiously like I used to. I really like RPGs, both Japanese (e.g. Final Fantasy) and Western (e.g. The Elder Scrolls), but I'm probably best at action-based games, specifically those in third person. My favorite series in Metal Gear, hands down, though its been absolutely trashed since Kojima left Konami. My greatest achievement, I'd say, was beating the Last of Us on the PS4 with grounded mode on and with the HUD turned off (this being the first time I'd even laid eyes on the game). I'm getting more into tabletop gaming as a result of my waning digital interest, though, so there are lots of roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder in my life, as well as wargames like Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar (which is where all of my time painting goes to). Feel free to send me a private message if any of you have any more questions or want to talk about anything I mentioned!
  7. I suppose I should make a thread here before heading to bed on my first day here, lol To make a long sob-story short, I started university last fall and thought I had a really good group of friends, but was summarily ejected from said group with no regrets on their part. So since then I've been drifting in a weird, social grey-space and am now trying to find someplace to fit in. I used to be really into video games, but those have sort of faded from my life. I've been casually interested in anime since 2012, and have really enjoyed the convention community, so I'm trying to fill the void, so to speak. Other than that, I'm trying to improve my painting and drawing skills as well. As far as real life is concerned, I work just enough to satiate my hobbies and spend the rest of my time either in class or doing the copious amounts of reading and writing required of a Philosophy Major. So, yeah, the forum seems really friendly so far, so I look forward to my interactions with you all, Purple Baroness
