ssjup81
I don't watch many new shows in general. Last "new" series I watched was Isshukan Friend, which was recommended to me. Who knows what I last watched prior to that...oh Sailor Moon Crystal. Didn't care for the art style, even if the design was closer to the manga. I just prefer 80s/90s style. FSL29
I watch old anime and new anime just fine. I dont hate old animation (ex. school rumble) and I do like the new animation better but I prefer them to keep the consistency.

If the plot entertains me, I'll watch it...but I'm still not all that big on CGI. I like 2D stuff...although, ironically, I watch the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Yuuki_Radosian
I get used to animation styles after about one or two episodes , but to be honest I prefer the newer animation styles as they are a hell of a lot more slick and have better flow (most of the time) , the old animation styles are quite easy on the eyes , in the sense that the colour palates were softer and not as vibrant so they were easier to look at over longer periods of time (for the most part). Yuuki_Radosian
yess and no. they where easy on the eyes but they also got dole after a while I think you mean dull ? I have to agree but that also lets you watch for hours on end without hurting your eyes (as much).
Nuh1000
I adapt pretty quickly, I first realized this when I watched Princess Kaguya which was starkly different from regular animes and movies in the sense of Art form.

SurrealBrain
If you're like me, you've learned to get used to different artstyles from a young age. Whether or not it's pleasing creates a whole other can of worms, however, and even if the character designs are excellent, poor and off model animation and/or art can kill it. In the case of poor art and animation, the story needs to hold it up in order for it to remain watchable; not even having that is bad, but that's another discussion. This doesn't just apply to anime, either; this applies to animation, period.
