Children

So how do you feel about children? Babies? Young kids? Teens? Do you want any? Would you want to give birth and be pregnant (male or female)?  Do you like them? Do you hate them? Natural kids or adoption?

Personally I have never had any desire for kids and never liked hanging around with them much even when I was one, Sure there were fun times and things I enjoyed, but in the long run... not worth it. I sure don't want to raise them or be responsible for them,

At the same time I would have happily stayed a child potentially forever.

I do not ever want children.

My reasons why:

- The nine months carrying around a child is accompanied by many pains such as in the back and feet. There are also mood swings, nausea, and stretch marks.

- Labor is incredibly painful and it usually takes anywhere from 12-24 hours. I can tell you all with confidence that I would not be able to handle that.

- Infants are extremely fragile. It is too easy to hurt them.

- Sleepless nights from tending to the baby. I’ve dealt with this first hand when my sister and her newborn son lived with us for a little while. It was terrible. I never want to deal with consistently waking up to tend to a crying baby again.

- Supplies for infants and babies are expensive and you have to purchase that supplies regularly.

- Diaper changes. No. I don’t give a damn if it’s natural. It’s vile. Again, no.

- When they become toddlers and then young children, they are very annoying. I seriously cannot stand their screaming, tugging at your shirt to get your attention, crying, and hyperactivity.

- I have depression and borderline personality disorder so I would feel guilty should my child have those passed onto them.

- Bringing a child into the world in 2025 is also not wise. The world is seriously messed up right now with the higher tensions between the U.S, Russia, and China, A.I getting more powerful, climate change, etc.

- I want to spend my hard earned money on myself. I want to freely buy things that I want without having to worry about someone else.

- I just don’t have a desire to be a mother. That desire just isn’t there and never has been.

…So, yeah, children are too costly, vexing, and the whole pregnancy ordeal just isn’t worth it in my opinion.

You could adopt.

But yeah, there are 8,000,000,000 people. We need fewer kids, not more.

Not that it's a hue problem for anime fans...

Hey, that’s an interesting topic! It actually reminds me of some touching family moments I’ve seen in anime like Clannad and Barakamon, both show beautiful bonds with children in heartfelt ways.

In most anime don't the parents either die or leave their children in the care of an old man who lets them play with cursed objects?

I think I'm about 18 years late to this conversation, as I already have two, a soon-to-be 17 and a 12. For me and my wife, it was always the plan, we even talked about it a year into when we were still dating. And we got exactly what we wanted, one of each.

I won't deny anything that's been said here. It's not for everyone and that's fine. It's a difficult adventure no matter what age they are (more so with one versus the other, in my case). But through it all, there's a bond there, and we find a way to come out smelling like a rose, even if we're littered with thorns in the process.

Did you know Sonic was voiced by Jaleel White?
