Optic
I am sure virtually everyone has seen or heard of Black Rock Shooter in some shape or form. The pale skinned female warrior with her signature blazing blue eye. How Black Rock Shooter started is an interesting story, when it started off as a fan art drawing. This paragraph from Wikipedia sums it up nicely: Quote The origins of Black Rock Shooter date back to an original character illustration titled Black Rock Shooter by illustrator Ryohei Fuke, best known by his handle 'Huke', who posted it on his blog and the online artist community Pixiv on December 26, 2007. Similarly the origins of the OP for Black Rock Shooter is interesting: Quote Ryo of Supercell was inspired by the illustration and created the song "Black Rock Shooter" based on that character using vocals from the Vocaloid singing synthesizer Hatsune Miku. Huke joined Supercell and provided the illustrations used in the music video of the song, which was later posted online on the video sharing website Nico Nico Douga on July 13, 2008, which as of August 2009 had over 2.2 million views. The song was later used as the opening theme for the 2012 anime television series. So has anyone else seen the anime TV series adaptation? What are your thoughts? I found this to be one of my most favourite series. The blending of slice of life/drama with such beatifically animated combat scenes in the parallel fantasy world that reflects their real-life counterparts is surreal. I would highly recommend giving it a go, it's a fine series. If you're undecided, watch the trailer.
Dark Jewel
I've watched the anime twice, actually. I give it an 8. I can really sympathize with Yomi, and by the end, I felt in a similar way for Yuu. The action scenes were nice (I think Dead Master is pretty cool, tbh), but I didn't like how the show suddenly got convoluted near the end... I normally like convoluted things, but it felt out of place and I don't think that it was handled well. Additionally, I think that the series could have really benefited from a few more episodes and suffered somewhat from how brief it is.
Optic
Additionally, I think that the series could have really benefited from a few more episodes and suffered somewhat from how brief it is. Agreed. I actually wanted to learn more about the counsellor and her link to Black Gold Saw but they only touched on her briefly with Yuu. Who would your favourite character be? Dark Jewel
Yeah, . An extra few episodes would have mitigated things like that and made other things seem less sudden. Anyway, that would be Yomi/Deadmaster, lol. I usually like characters that I can relate to, and she fits the bill well enough for this. I could relate with Yuu, too, but it was too late in the series to count for much... Yours would be BRS? x.x
Optic
Yes, I love Black Rock Shooter's character design so she's my number one favourite! Yomi/Deadmaster I found intriguing, seeing her and Black Rock Shooter in battle was heart-wrenching..
Dark Jewel
I think BRS is alright, but I don't think she's one of the greatest things out there. Her game for the PSP was fun, though.

KimmyKins83
I used to have this brilliant series on DVD, my only problem with it is that it really ought to have been made just that little bit longer, instead of just 11 episodes, maybe stretched to a 12 or 13 episode long one I would love it if it eventually got a Blu-ray release, as I would buy it immediately
