TortoiseImpaler
Looking for a goood goood horror movie, I haven't seen many at all I'm looking for something actually scary. Seen Purge (not scary at all) Annabelle, ring and thats pretty much it. Found them scary as hell. Pop in suggestions here. I don't find guts spilling out scary at all, as my username could suggest.
Orius
It's hard for any horror movie to be scary nowadays, with how desensitized we all are. I can't remember any horror movie actually "scaring" me after I've turned 16. I'm just too old to be scared anymore. I can still be crept out and disturbed, of course, but "scared"? I just can't imagine. So while I can't personally recommend you any, I guess I could pop in the usual recommendations others would suggest: The Exorcist The Babadook Psycho (not the remake, of course) The Descent The Orphanage (if you don't mind foreign films) Pan's Labyrinth (again, foreign film) The Omen (again, not the remake) The Ring (remake this time) The Conjuring Funny Games (not really horror, but I'm stretched thin here)
Cy~
@Orius's list is good stuff, but I would like to add a few more foreign and non-foreign films that made good impressions on me - Shutter (2004 Thai movie) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0440803/ Jacob's Ladder (It's a classic, not sure if I'd call it scary but it is a WEIRD movie) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099871/ The Wailing (2016; great mindfuck horror) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5215952/ The Host (2006, definitely not scary but it's great camp horror) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468492/ The Cabin in the Woods (stupid af, not necessarily scary, but glorious) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1259521/ Train to Busan (2016; fucking intense zombie-style horror movie) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5700672/ The Devil's Backbone (2001; one of the best movies outright, that I have ever seen) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0256009/ The Conjuring 2 (I nearly wet myself watching this. Yes, I am weak. ) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3065204 It's hard for any horror movie to be scary nowadays, with how desensitized we all are. Not all of us! I scream and hug Zoop until she's squirming in pain, which isn't always great since she gets scared too. So, there we are, trying to sink further and further into our sofa while clinging onto each other making weird noises. lol. Still, I watch horror for the same reason that I eat sour food - it's the ultimate palette cleanser. After a good horror movie, all of my irl shit is completely forgotten. Now, THAT'S escapism.
zoop
Jacob's Ladder (It's a classic, not sure if I'd call it scary but it is a WEIRD movie) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099871/ Train to Busan (2016; f****** intense zombie-style horror movie) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5700672/ The Wailing (2016; great mindfuck horror) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5215952/ The Devil's Backbone (2001; one of the best movies outright, that I have ever seen) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0256009/ The Orphanage (if you don't mind foreign films) Shutter (2004 Thai movie) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0440803/ The Conjuring 2 (I nearly wet myself watching this. Hope you're okay with subtitles!
