Optic
The amount of bundled adware, browser toolbars and unwanted content in some installers these days is staggering. Recently I updated my Vuze (formerly Azureus), a Bitorrent client to the latest version and received two prompts to bundle various browser toolbars after opting for a "Custom" install: Then I received two more prompts to install some "bonus" applications: I'll continue to use Vuze on this occasion, but may be time to look for a more lightweight client. What are your thoughts on adware? Have you had to prevent any from being installed lately or removed any after they were installed on your system? drill
Ugh... adware. I'm pretty good about keeping it off my PC, but I hate seeing those dialog boxes As for a client that you could use. I use the torch browser for my torrents. Its a great client that isn't exactly lightweight, but is the fastest client I've used (probably since most of the others are linux ports after all, so they weren't designed to use on Windows). I would not recommend you actually use the browser function though, as its mediocre at best.
Columbus
Adware is a pain. Especially bloatware that you get when you buy a computer. I'm pretty good at keeping it off my computer. CCleaner is pretty good at getting rid of it as well as Malware Bytes.
drill
CCleaner is pretty good at getting rid of it as well as Malware Bytes. Definitely agree with both of these. On my Windows laptop, I use both of these (and luckily was able to get Malware Bytes lifetime before they shut that down). I'm on linux on most of my machines though, so I don't usually ever even think about adware most of the time.
