    One Piece

Close, and freedom is certainly part of it, but I thought it was more about taking a good look at the world around you and realizing you do not have to follow everybody else's rules. Other people kept telling them how to live, who they were, that things were impossible. Luffy's job originally was to do literally physically impossible things like it was the easiest thing in the world to show them. So Zorro and Nami and Colby and the Marines were all freaked out when they saw him, having only heard vaguely about devil fruit powers and guys like Gold Roger, while the rules kept them under the thumb of people like Alveda, Arlong, Morgan and whoever. Then they started adding other people, most of whom abused their power, to contrast these guys once the point was made. After that the impossible people with powers became common place. What happened to the treasure being in "one piece"?
  4. Reddit was not that toxic when it started and became more so over time as more people joined.. That is a really nice collection.
  5. I think it is possible, but there are a lot of small details as the story gets too long.

  8. DH v3.3.4 now has the option to generate only surface features. This means that you can vastly expand the (DH) render distance even on relatively low-powered systems. I've read of people on monster machines setting their render distance to over 100,000! Of course it does take a while to generate the terrain, but the playable limit now seems to be more about how much HD/SSD space you have to cache the LODs. The new setting is "Distant Generator Plan". A single-player game with the render distance set to 2048 and the Plan set to "SURFACE_ONLY" only took about an hour on my older system. The built-in/vanilla render distance for these screenshots is 10 chunks. The DH mod is rendering everything from 11 to 2048 chunks...
  9. Tell that to Disney. I'd settle for them just trying new things instead of sticking to formulas. Or even just remembered to have decent villains.

    Death

Personally I think that whole "death gives life value" is one of those things mortals have to tell themselves.
  11. Same here, I tend to stick to the App store as well!
  12. There's a lot of repetition and a lot of "what will make us money" instaed of what will viewer's actually enjoy

    Death

i can imagie so, My own perseption on it has chnaged over the years from glorifying it to understanding why it's dreaded This is an interesting perspective, definitely moves away from the dread of living thousands of years into the future
  14. I agree about the visual side of Edgerunners. Even the smaller characters had really distinct designs, which made Night City feel more alive. Rebecca is probably the easiest example, but David and the rest of the crew had their own style too. That’s also what I like about the fashion in the series. A good cyberpunk jacket can have a lot of personality without needing to copy a character exactly. I’d actually like to see the new series take that idea further and give the new cast some completely different looks.
  15. Korra is now officially mature
