As to fan service, this has been a feature of many anime series for as long as I've been watching anime. In some respects I think there was more fan service in anime in the 80's and 90's when it seemed that almost every episode had either a shower scene, a locker room scene, a girl wandering around in her underwear or managing to loose various items of clothing for no immediately discernable reason.

I'm sick of it. As you said, there are many amazing series that deserve that far more attention and were cut short. The amount of fan service in some animes is annoying, and while I don't mind a little fan service, it almost feels as if these series revolve around it in a way.

It seems like most newer series are becoming shorter and shorter, and there are some older anime that get unnecessary updates. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of amazing new series coming out. However, there are just as many bad ones. This may be a bit of an over exaggeration, but I'm a little concerned for the future of anime.

Chaa (Angel Beats)

I just thought of this game so here you go. Basically, one person will say "describe ___ with one character" the the next person will respond with a anime character that fits that description. For example, one person might go

describe happiness with one character

and the next person might respond with Yui Hirasawa from K-on!! because Yui is always happy.

I started watching Monster today! It's very good. I love how it gets straight to the story and every episode has been interesting so far. Although the 9 year time skip did feel very sudden.

I dropped it after S1 so I haven't seen all of it, but it's incredibly overrated and there are better anime that deserve the hype MHA gets

• The Danganronpa anime(s) were pretty good

I do agree that the games were better,  but I think the anime(s) deserve more appreciation. The THH adaptation definitely felt really rushed but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm also probably a bit biased because it's what introduced me to the series and I'm very grateful for that, haha

also Yasuhiro is best boy

• The Kotaro Lives Alone art style is really cool

I've seen quite a few people call it ugly and avoid the series because of that, but I personally love the art style. It's cute!

• S1 of SAO was better than S2

I've only watched S1 and S2 (as well as Ordinal Scale) and I enjoyed S1 way more

• Log Horizon is boring

I dropped it a few episodes in because I was so bored

• Angel Beats is mid

Don't get me wrong, I loved Angel Beats but it felt very rushed and I feel the series had a lot of missed potential. Also what was that extra episode

• Charlotte was a great series

I loved it a lot and I think it gets more hate than it deserves
