Overall, my favorite character is Trafalgar D. Water Law. I find his character to be riveting, his Devil Fruit power is very cool, his backstory is great and was fantastically told, and he is drop-dead gorgeous. Dubbed anime is superior. Subbed anime requires you to almost constantly read the subtitles which takes away from the experience. You cannot focus on what is actually happening because you are taking the time to read while simultaneously comprehending what is being read. I also don’t retain much information after watching a subtitled episode. I tend to forget what has happened. I like being able to watch and listen without having to focus anything else. I don’t care if that means I have to wait longer for the dubbed episodes to be released. It is always worth it.

This is a tough one for me so I’m going to call it a toss up. I got hooked into One Piece quickly, as I was already wondering what was going to happen next on the second episode. The concept of the series is just so interesting. Not only that but it is overall wildly entertaining and there really are no dull moments in my opinion even in filler episodes. I have come to adore so many of the characters. Naruto hooked me just as quickly but I will always prefer Shippuden over the original. The same positive qualities listed above also apply to Naruto but there is so much filler. Yes, you can skip those filler episodes but I still wish there wasn’t so much. …But if I have to choose a winner, I am leaning toward the pirates because the series has been running longer and therefore is providing more entertainment for me. I am currently watching One Piece (on episode 1,108) and FAIRY TAIL 100 YEARS QUEST (on episode 10). I have already watched the entirety of Fairy Tail and I really enjoyed it but the extension has yet to really…captivate me. It’s a little boring which is disappointing.

I am not someone who cosplays often. However, I would really like to cosplay as Killer from One Piece but as a fem version. The outfit for the cosplay is simple to pull off and the props may be a little expensive but I know I can get my hands on them. Killer:

I am in Illinois and live one hour away from the city of Chicago. The anime convention held around there are Anime ZAP in January, Con+Alt+Delete in December, Anime Central in May, Anime Midwest in June, and Anime Magic in August. I go to every one of these conventions every year save Anime ZAP because that one is the furthest away being two hours away. Anime Central is definitely the largest convention out of the ones I have listed. I am telling you that it is massive all in in convention center size, number of attendees, etc.). I think my favorite convention to attend is Con+Alt+Delete because it takes place in the winter season and I just love colder temperatures.
