As you can probably guess by now I grew up in the early 90's back when you could only trade Pokemon with the person sitting next to you. I used to have 650 Pokemon cards (yeah I actually sat down and counted them, lol) but I gave them all to my nephew last year. Also remember having to get my anime fix by buying VHS after VHS after VHS of Pokemon and DBZ (now I can't believe that VHS tapes only had like four episodes per tape). I still have some of them too in a box somewhere in my house, lol.

I remember the days of trading pokemon with my friends in grade school ^^ Fun times. I was never really that lucky with getting any foil cards, but I was happy with the ones I had :)

For me, I was a huge fan of YuGiOh. I was always excited to watch it on TV and watch re-runs when I came home from school ^^ I still watch it sometimes, but not as much. The nostalgia factor is there tho <3

    Thanks for the link.

I got true neutral, which fits me pretty well because it'd be down to testify if I saw a murder or something, yet would shoplift from a gas station if I was hungry.

    No worries :)

Hahah I like the way you chose to describe it ^^ Interesting.

  3. Those are some cool names you've got there! Tough little kitty. <3

Names I'd suggest for a female black kitty:

    1. Carbon. Because I am a scientist. Also because carbon is arguably one of the most important elements in life. It takes many forms (as your kitty will... maybe she's a diamond when she's behaving or maybe she's akin to a buckyball while rolling around and making a mess.) and also is somewhat neutral of a name in case the kitty is actually male.

    2. Andromeda. Since you said you like astronomy, this seems appropriate. Also kinda cute-ironic bc Andromeda is huge and your kitten is tiny ^^

    3. Planchette. Not sure if you're into occult stuff, but I love this name for blackish cats.

Good luck with the kitty and please let us know his/her name~

i named my two cats, male eon(his black-ish, but my dad calls him "tiger"), while the female, i named ion (white-ish, and ofcourse they named her "sunshine")

but i prefer calling them eon/ion, as its easy to say, and ion (tiny molecules), and eon (light years away, but mainly couse its close to the wordings of "ion")

if i were to name another black cat...i would most likely name him mion, (pronounced as "mi-yon") as its also easy and sophisticated on the name ;o

i also like the galatea name, saratoga...feels hard on pronounciation, and making it short-named into "sara" feels...wierd

"gala" feels fun though, if it was shortened, and wouldn't be confused on anyone's name, as we dont see any people with the name "gala"

eitherway, hope kitty gets to have fun living with you ;o

Eon and Ion are adorable names. ^^

  4. Hey there! Welcome to AF. :) I'm not super experienced with forums, but I think it's just best to post honestly (while being respectful, of course). It's nice to post stuff that will attract a lot of response, but I usually find a more wholesome experience by just posting what I'm honestly interested in. Conversation just happens more naturally that way ^^ also, don't be afraid to reach out to members by messaging them or posting on their profiles. Everyone here seems really friendly. Hope to see you around!

I can't quite place it. but I want to say it's called Galaxy something or other.   Hmmm...  Basically it's about the relationship between a short guy who looks like a girl and a tall guy who struggles to accept himself so he lashes out a lot.  And them both trying to deal with said relationship until and misunderstandings along way that causes the little to guy to realize the big guy actually cares.  A bit of a comedy aspect to it along with sitcom kind of feal.  But still had really good art.

I'll have to look for this!! Tbh this summary sounds a lot better than some of the official summaries I've read of some obscure stuff.

  6. I used to play ffxiv, but that was a while ago and I played it on a console. It was pretty interesting and I played with some of my friends occasionally, but then I went to uni and stopped playing. I remember playing for ~5 hours a day and when I stopped, I was a lvl 50 bard.

I don't think I know of any other similar games besides maybe Tera? I haven't played that one for a while either, but I think I got bored bc there wasn't really much variation playing as a gunner. I usually play more strategy oriented games that are turn based ^^

Hey everyone! I don't know what it is, but something about the nice weather and the sunlight entering the home, makes me wanna stay inside and watch tons of anime lol!

Every summer I find myself watching/finishing a lot of series and I want everyone to partake on what I've come to call the Summer Anime Grind.

Let me know what you're watching/plan to watch!

I finished Violet Evergarden and am currently making my way through Orange.

Hi there! I think I'll probably end up catching up on stuff that I missed out on while in school. I am super behind with Naruto, but first... need to watch the second season of Attack on Titan.

  8. Hey there! I read a lot of manga (typically those with romance undertones) and play lots of games, and I sometimes find that I prefer the main character paired with someone other than the "canon" character because their interactions are cute or meaningful in my POV. Are you a person that strictly prefers canon pairings in animes/mangas/games? If not, do you have a favorite non-canon pairing?

  9. I will gladly assist you in your quest to distract from college work~ Here are some questions:

    1. What is your favorite type of "-dere"?

    2. Do you have a hobby and if so, what is it?

    3. What is your favorite and least favorite thing about college?

    4. Any idea of what you want to do after college?

    5. Who is your favorite anime/manga character right now?

    Okay~ I'm done ^^/

9 years!? That's a long time ago... Imma at my first year of high school so I guess I also started in middle school. I respect your opinion...yeah...anime really makes people think positively. ^^

Haha, it was a long time ago and I've just graduated uni. (It makes me feel a bit old lol). Happy to hear your thoughts on anime :)

  11. Hmm~ Interesting topic to think about. I started watching anime when I was in middle school which was around 8 or 9 years ago? That time was a pretty depressing period in my life and I spent a lot of time on my own outside of school. I can relate to you in the way anime changed my life and my outlook on life. I think seeing characters try so hard and be relentlessly positive for the most part helped me see life in a better light and have hope in people. (It also made me aware of some of my weird tastes, but we won't talk about that...) I also liked psychological animes and I always liked thinking about darker or deeper topics so in that way, by seeing different perspectives, I think my world widened a little.

Up until this point in life, I have made some precious friends and memories. I can't attribute my change in mindset to anime solely, but I think that it did have a large impact on who I am today and how I see the world.

Anime has also transformed my art style. I have been drawing since I was 5 when my dad would draw with my brother and I. My brother and dad are both amazing realism artists, but I was never as good as they were so I didn't have confidence in my pieces. Once I found anime, it was a whole other story because I found something that I thought was beautiful and now, it is the only style I draw. ^^

Sorry for the super long response, but this is a great topic for people to reflect on ^^

I always find the summer sale (or any other steam sale, for that matter) to be very overwhelming. I'm not a very big gamer though, so it ends up turning into, "what's this?" "ooh, this looks pretty!" "Hey, what was that?" and my brain just gets fried xD

    I totally get you! When I first started, it was just crowded and I had no idea what I wanted to buy because there were so many things being thrown at me. I think it got better when I bought my first game, liked it, and just looked for games similar to it while ignoring everything else unless a friend recommended it ^^;

I always wish the steam sale took place just a month later, so that way it would take place after I have birthday money. :P But then again, it probably wouldn't change anything since I want to expand on my anime DVD/Blu-Ray collection.

Oh no ^^; I guess the summer sale is just around this time to appeal to people just getting out of school and stuff?

Hahah, nice!! Priorities right there :D

its funny, couse i was planning on making this thread tomorrow xD and i was slightly surprised no one made one yet ;o

so i have this urge to get stardrew valley (MP mode has finally been added !)

aside from that im debating to myself to get dark soul's 3, GTA 5, maybe shogun: fall of the samurai for playing with my brother reason's

and aside from those games, i dont really think i wanna buy anything else, unless i can play them with friend's

cmon guy's, steam aint troubleee, its a way to release stresssss, and money to our lord and savior, gaben sama

Niiiice, great minds think alike? ^^ I was also surprised that no one had posted it either

Stardew looks super cute and I agree that MP enabling is a huge incentive there.

Those sound like really great options. I struggle with Dark Souls... but GTA seems like a great opportunity to troll around a little bit haha

Ah, so you favor multiplayer games?

hahahah to each his or her own ^^ I wasn't a huge Steam user until last year but I agree that games seriously relieve stress :D
