  1. Lot's of them! I adore South Park, and the 2019 Moomin animation! Some live action stuff I love are "Toast of London", and "What we Do In the Shadows". I'm also obsessed with true crime stuff. It's just a very interesting topic to me!
  2. I don't keep up with the Fire Force manga. I own volume 24, and that's it. Plus, one other manga/animeI found about firefighters, is not sci-fi or fantasy, just this slice of life, romance Josei (women's demographic) that's rather explicit. It's called "Fire at his Fingertips".
  3. Yeah, a season 3 would be awesome. My favorite character is actually Maki and how cool and muscular she is. As for BNHA, there's this character called Backdraft, who's costume resembles a firefighter uniform. That's what I was referring to.
  4. So, back in October/November I decided to give these two anime,(one a film, and one a series) with similar concepts, but major differences a watch. And oh boy, I'll say it was an interesting experience with both. So, hands down Fire Force was my favorite out of those two, but I'll explain why. So, the biggest similarity between Promare and fire Force is the concept obviously. Firefighting, and spontaneous human combustion, but a major difference with how it's presented. Promare also is more sci-fi geared, while Fire Force seems to be more dark fantasy-geared. Promare: So, where to begin. First off, my biggest issue when watching the film, was I found the psychedelic colors and graphics a little distracting. That does not necessarily mean I disliked them, because I really did find them beautiful and fun. (almost reminded me of some of the sequences from this non-anime film). It was also, for some reason really hard to sit through, I'm usual good with stuff like that, so maybe it was the choice of location to watch? What I liked: The two main characters certainly had an interesting dynamic with each other, and overall the story was quite descent. That's pretty much majority of what I can say about this film. Fire Force: I'll explain every reason why I enjoyed it from beginning to end. But of course, first to cover the issue that I'm sure many of us have with this series. The forced/ridiculous fan-service scenes, not doubt. Plus (if any you could properly explain), the way Fire Force represents religion is a little confusing to me. Is it some mix of western doctrine with eastern spiritualism? Now, why I loved it a lot more than the former? For one, the story was interesting enough to keep me really engaged. Something, I also really loved were the uniform designs, a great contrast of electric blue with black. Plus, there was a lot more time for humor, and the sitcom-like rivalry between Shinra and Arthur somehow managed to make me smile. This is also coming from somebody who has not watched or read Soul Eater, which is by the exact same person. Now a big positive about both FF and Promare, is how they take an occupation like Firefighting, and give it a cool fantasy tone. (Don't know about the firefighter guy from BNHA however, since I don't watch/really care for that anime) So what are your thoughts?
  5. And maybe an exception for me could be Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka.
  6. I especially, do not enjoy the overly colorful, hyper feminized, cute stuff(ex. Pretty Cure). Simply, I just don’t find it can hold my attention as much as stuff from my preferred genres (military, slapstick etc.). Is there anybody else, who is not a fan?
  7. I loved it. Actually kept my bored mind busy enough. I especially loved Chima. The little blue Fox creature.
  8. A part in the anime that really made me smile is when they were tripped up on euphorics. You know Fairy Gone by P.A. Works?
  9. I’ll admit it is starting to grow on me. I’m finding myself being amused by the the antics. But the fan service, that’s not good. This is why, I am making a booklet containing pictures from containing screenshots from any sort of military anime.
  10. Oh, I also wanted to ask. Does “Fire Force” possibly count as well?
  11. Yes, I still am. I saw season 1 of 86 and I loved it. I am certainly excited for season 2.
  12. I’m talking about “Fairy Gone” by the company P.A. Works. While I see it did get a lot of hate, I personally enjoyed it. I watched the first episode in 2019, but was discouraged due to the reviews it received. Finally in May of 2021, I decided to revisit it and I’m glad that I did! My reasons for liking it. 1. The art of course. I also loved the CG graphics that were used for the monsters(fairies). 2. It had an interesting plot. It certainly got better by season 2. 3. The character designs, dynamics, and relationships I also admired as well. 4. No fanservice stuff. I actually found that really refreshing. 5 The uniforms the characters wore. They certainly did look cool in them! Now is it a perfect anime? No, but it was a pretty fine anime in my opinion. Let me know if you liked this anime as well, and if so, what are reasons that you have?
  13. It’s a little odd that this is my first post on here, but I had to get this out. So since I was 16 I seem to have developed some taste for anime/manga that some military/warfare undertone. To me, that does not exclude anime shows like Keroro Gunso and Hetalia: Axis Powers, because obviously most the characters are in the army. I also realize they’re nationalistic in nature. I think Sgt Frog did have a lot of references to Japan’s military abuses throughout history. I have recently gotten into Yojou Senkai(The Saga of Tanya The Evil). I love the psychotic personality of the main character. I don’t know however, if I would get into stuff like Hellsing, Attack On Titan, Code Geass etc. I tried getting into Fairy Gone, but all those negative reviews have discouraged me, but I think I may need to revisit it. I also seem to have gotten interested in Dies Irae. That one is pure creepiness, but I think the villains are awesomely insane.
