  1. In terms of mystery and thriller, there a few recommendations I have... Monster - It's a 75-episode anime following Dr. Kenzou Tenma, a genius yet young Japanese neurosurgeon studying in Germany at the Eisler Memorial Hospital, and really kicks off in the very first episode and never lets up. Less of a thriller over time because its so long, but a winding mystery with plenty of suspense and more. Definitely worth a watch even with its length. ID:Invaded - A much shorter anime, only 13 episodes, but a rousing mystery that puts an interesting spin within, but still a suspense-filled thriller story that I would definitely recommend. Darker than Black: Kuro no Keiyakusha - 25 episodes of conspiratorial mystery with a lot of surprises and a great build-up of anticipation, Darker than Black follows BK201 at some levels, a Contractor working for a syndicate, and Misaki Kirihara, a police officer who slowly unravels the mystery surrounding Hei and everything that happens revolving around Contractors. And then also I would recommend *Kara no Kyoukai, though sadly I haven't seen enough of it to really inform ya on it. *Kara no Kyoukai is more of a series of short movies.
  2. In terms of full manga... or more than maybe 2-3 chapters... probably Horimiya. I'm not too sure, even though it was only like 2 years ago. But in terms of just reading a manga for 1 or 2 chapters, definitely Code Geass's manga adaptation.
  3. So I'm kinda running out of anime to watch. I've dropped Fate/Apocrypha, dropped Heroic Age re-watch, on the last episode of Shinsekai Yori [From the New World], dropped Fate/Stay night [Heaven's Feel], and don't feel like watching any of my usual list. I'm re-watching Darker than Black, but I do like to watch two at once. Any suggestions? I'm kinda feeling in the mood for anime like Darker than Black, mysteries with a healthy dollop of action and conspiracy, and a bit of badassery- with maybe a hint of edginess like Hei, Wei, or so many others. Other than that, not really. Hope this helps!
  4. @sebthehokage Awesome- thanks for the response.
  5. That is a difficult choice- one might say an impossible one. But since hearing it, I've really loved is Dreams, and I do indeed think it is very, very, nice. Also "this day and never again". Of course, there are more- but I can safely say these are the truly special ones for me.
  6. Right now, Fate/Stay night Heaven's Feel- though as they're movies, it is a slow going. Also continuing on Gilgamesh and rewatching Soukyuu no Fafner: Heaven and Earth. Kinda on a Fate watching streak though, so I'll probably move to Fate/Apocrypha before I finish Gilgamesh or Fafner.
  7. One that sadly appears to be missing is... Soukyuu no Fafner | Fafner in the Azure Well, really, the full package of: Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor Soukyuu no Fafner: Right of Left Soukyuu no Fafner: Arcadian Memory Soukyuu no Fafner: Heaven and Earth Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor - Exodus Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor - Exodus 2nd Season Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor - Exodus Special Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor - The Beyond Part 1 Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor - The Beyond Part 2 Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor - The Beyond Part 3 And the hopefully soon-to-come Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor - The Beyond Part 4 Also Naoki Urasawa's Monster Heroic Age Paranoia Agent Shinsekai Yori Toaru Hikuushi e no Tsuioku Gilgamesh
  8. That would be pretty awesome- though I must admit to having a question or two. 1. Does it have to be about powerscaling and versus battles, who would win situations, and so on? Or can it also be about things like how well a character is written, their ideology, and so on. Ex. I recently debated a friend about whether or not Iskandar[Fate/Zero] was better written from a consideration of his relations with other characters and his understandable complexity, as well as his ideology and it's basis, than Archer[Fate/Stay night Unlimited Blade Works]. Would this be allowed too? If not, that is understandable, yet a shame, for that is possibly the most fun to debate on to me- as well as the most consistent commonly, especially considering some anime. P.S. No one won that debate, the only result was that mine was judged more in-depth but not necessarily better, considering that we both went far into the characters and took every shred of debatable content.
  9. A discussion of any piece of Soukyuu no Fafner media out there- perhaps how you liked it, what you thought could've been better...
  10. At least with Scum's Wish | Kuzu no Honkai, I like it a lot. To be fair, I don't tend to watch anime I don't like, but still. The relationship between Hanabi and Mugi is heartbreaking, more so than a lot of sad anime for me, and Akane is, while not being a massively complex character, a very interesting one that I love to see in the anime, and her relationship with Narumi, particularly on Narumi's side, is a very interesting piece of work. However, at another level, I feel bad for almost every character in Scum's Wish(the only one I don't is Narumi), especially Sanae. In Scum's wish as well, there's a lot of emotional undercurrent that really helps the anime, and although it may seem very plain on the surface, it's a tangled web of emotional differences that always intercept each other, and are fixed in different ways. Overall, I'd say its an anime that invokes a melancholy feeling, and that's one of the few things it excels at. None of the characters are particularly complex at a moment's glance, but they become so much better the more you think about it. In short, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a somber romantic drama with a bitter ending- which is something I'll devour.
