Hello! I'm Tippy... quite new here, not to anime but to forums in general. I am quite young, thirteen but age doesn't always equal wisdom as I would put it.

 

My favorite animes are... Hunter X Hunter, Whispered Words, and Sakura Trick.

Have you ever watched a top anime OP or ED list and found that a song you love wasn't there? Sometimes it's because of a anime not being popular, sometimes the person just hasn't heard of it. But the matter of the fact is that a lot of songs get ignored, so what are some songs that you feel deserve more attention?

I would say

I grew up watching Teen Titans when it was on cartoon network back in the day, it had an anime-inspired art style. Though looking back, it wasn't very well animated, however it used that to it's advantage for the jokes.

Nowadays they have Teen Titans GO!, which I would compare to Keroro Gunso in that it's funny for the first few episodes, but it starts to feel like your intelligence is being insulted after a while.

They were going to have a live-action Teen Titans television series, but that never came to be and instead they opted to make Justice League vs. Teen Titans, which wasn't very good imo.

If they were to make a Teen Titans movie as part of the DC movie universe, then I'd be willing to go see that.

Oh, and they should make a new anime series for it.

Beauty Equals Good

This is one that spans across all mediums. A person's looks, however, has nothing to do with the type of person they are. I think that there should be more unattractive protagonists and main characters. Furthermore, they should have the personalities that people have grown to love. And that, of course, includes both genders.

I understand, I may have gotten a bit ahead of myself. But thank you very much for hearing me out.

This series was all over the internet back in the day, if you used the internet, then you most likely knew about this series. This topic is for discussing the first book in the Haruhi Suzumiya series.

I've never seen the anime, but was interested in the light novels.

First off, Haruhi is unforgivable. She acts like a complete jerk at all times. Furthermore, she is guilty of sexual harassment, blackmail, extortion and trespassing. She can stay in melancholy for all I care.

Miku is shy, so I can relate. But I have to question why the Time Travelers' Committee put her on this mission.

Kyon isn't much better than Haruhi, he goes along with whatever she says. Still, he is somehow the most likely to protect Miku.

Nagato reminds me of Yuzuru from Date A Live.

Well, all that aside, I think this a good series so far and am interested in reading more.

Anyone ever of a game called Jet Set Radio? That game had a fantastic soundtrack, Hedeki Naganuma is a genius!

I think the closet thing for me would be The Rolling Girls.

[spoiler=SPOILERS FOR THE ROLLING GIRLS]From the preview in Otaku USA, I thought this sounded a bit like Samurai Champloo...but that was not the case.

The anime is very vague about how japan was separated into the different areas. There are these people with super powers fight over territory called Best, there's also other people that work with them called Rest, but they don't have super powers and get blown away in about 5 seconds.

But forget all that, because the series then changes to Nozomi, who takes a request to find moonstones...and so the first part was not good, but I heard that it wasn't supposed to be until the second arc. But the third episode, which is part of the second arc, was not good either.

I don't know what they were going with this show, it doesn't take itself very seriously. Needless to say, it failed to convince me of it's concept.

The music was good though.

Tokiko Tsumura from Buso Renkin. In a series that is only half-serious, her cold and serious demeanor stands out all the more.

Both of these games are good, and their music is exceptional.

Agreed. I love her work, such as Tsubasa Wo Motsu Mono, Fruits Basket, Hoshi Wa Utau and Liselotte To Majo No Mori. Why don't they adapt her series' into anime? And also give Fruits Basket a proper anime adaptation?

All-female cast

Look, I like cute girls as much as the next guy, but seriously? Seriously?

There's already a lack of male characters I can relate to enough as it is. I would say that one male character would be enough, but that'd inevitably turned into a harem. In School Idol Project, I just kind of assumed that Honoka's father was dead because they didn't have any male characters up until the point he made a brief cameo. And then in Sunshine!!, there weren't even any guys in the background.

I feel like we need some all-male cast anime to counter-balance...and then stop this non-sense altogether.

That would work, too. I don't mind. But before I post anything, I was wondering if you'd consider changing the Episode Discussion so as to include what I'm talking about?

Pretending to kill a character

I saw this one anime that had a character be fatally wounded and then die, even degenerate from existence, then they had a "in memoriam" as the credits rolled. But, to no one's surprised, the character was alive and well the next episode because that's just one of their abilities, but I was still ticked the heck off! I mean, why even have a "in memoriam" at all, if not just to slap your audience in face!?

It's not that I want characters to die, but if you're going to make it seem like they're going to die, at least have the guts to kill them!!

Hey, so I was thinking of starting a discussion about a light novel volume, but then I realized...none of the current sections seem appropiate for that.

So I was wondering, should there be a section for discussing manga and light novel volumes individually? I think this would be a great way to encourage people to talk about those type of series, as those series can be quite long as opposed to the anime they're adapted into, which tend to be just 12-episodes and usually don't cover the whole series. And manga and light novels come out at a slower pace then anime episodes, so they stay relative for longer times.

What do you think?

If I hadn't already seen hundreds of books and movies that used the same exact plot, then I would have found it amazing. As it stands, it felt like a weak kneed homage to my all time favorite in gangster drama - The Road to Perdition. If you want to know where I'm coming from, look it up.

Well, I wasn't expecting it to be original with it being a story about revenge, then again, I haven't seen a lot of gangster moves, so what do I know?

I realized that the more child-like a girl looks, the cuter she is, before I even knew what a loli was.

I must disagree about 91 Days, as it is one of my favorite anime.

[spoiler=SPOILERS FOR 91 DAYS]I didn't felt it was predictable, and I thought it was sad whenever someone was killed. And it had a good moral about revenge being completely meaningless. Avilio learns the hard way that there were still things he had left. And all his actions just ended up screwing everyone over, and so is hatred.

As for Durarara!!, it's understandable if you feel like there's no meaning to anything that happens, Renee. Things don't start getting good until about halfway through. I felt that Mikado had no importance to the story, so why was he the main character? But it'll make sense later.

Rising Hope...is a opening...? I saw a top 100 ED with it in it, the song and animation were both the opening, though they write the name of the actual ending song.

Cyan, azure or just straight up blue. Post who your favorite character from a series is that has blue hair.

Torche from Monster Hunter Flash Hunter is who I'm going with right now, as she's the least likely to be said. Put bluntly, she is a airhead, and as such, she's not very good at communicating with other people and makes a lot of mistakes, but that's what makes her relatable.
