  1. I think you probably put it into perspective much better than I did. The reason for the similarity of magical girl with superhero is because that is what Sailor Moon was intended to be, though some might refer to earlier works such as Himitsu no Akko-chan and Sally The Witch as magical girl as well. Furthermore, Some later series' like Full Moon O Sagashite and Shugo Chara do not even have a crime fighting within them.
  2. I would say, to no one's surprise, that Madoka☆Magica is my favorite magical girl series. I don't think it's the darkest piece of literature, but deciding to focus on just a few characters definitely makes it one of the saddest stories. I like how deeply they how each of the characters' stories to the point where I don't think very much could be added to any of their stories, and I like all of the characters because of how well they're fleshed out and even if I don't always agree with what they do, I can understand why they did it and learn from it. I also like the adorable art style, while this seems to run in opposition to the otherwise psychological elements, it actually makes it that much more twisted. It's one of my favorite anime titles, second only to Fruits Basket. The only reason that I haven't voted for Madoka☆Magica yet is because of Wish Across, I haven't seen it yet but it has highly peaked my interest. What I would say makes the genre is innocence. There is always a feeling of innocent or scenes that have that sort of atmosphere, some more sweet moments akin with something like the slice of life genre. So even if the main characters fight during the night, there is always the more relaxed moments during the day.
  3. @Athena Something like this? ^ @efaardvark That's a interesting response. If you don't find retro things appealing, then it makes me wonder if people cared about antiques back before they were such...
  4. I recently tried to make a sound that wasn't very loud into one that was, so I know how important sound quality can be now--but I guess if you listen to it low enough then that wouldn't be a problem... Ne, how likely do you think it would be for someone to try and revive 8-tracks?
  5. @efaardvark That's interesting. I guess some things are just forgotten with time or will be forgotten eventually. Did you personally find them exceptional?
  6. I believe my family owned the best of The Carpenters album, so I've heard their songs from time to time. I can tell that must be before my time since I've never heard of it--then again, this song is twice as old as I am so...
  7. So I dropped Kami Nomi. How many titles does it take for me to realize that harem just isn't my cup of tea? I should start staying away from genres that I don't particularly enjoy. Now I'm reading a manga called Futatsu no Spica--I read a volume before while waiting from some other books to arrive from the library aftering seeing it and looking up a review and it was actually between that and a couple of other ones--but now I've restarted it so I can review it properly when I'm done. @Kaylie Otaku That is another title I tried once, I looked up reviews for it too and found them all to be positive and for good reason. I don't know when I'll get back to it--what I plan to watch or read is usually not very consistent.
  8. I remember trying out that game once, I didn't get too far because I failed to fuse any of my personas together--something I carried over from my pokemon days. OwO Are you still playing? I would love to hear your strats.
  9. @Histoire That's how I always listen to music. ^^
  10. Since the anime adaptation is coming out next month, I'm going back and playing Persona 5. I'm playing the subbed version.
  11. I finished Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and now I'm back to watching a anime called School Rumble.
  12. Alright, I completed this the other day but I took a break halfway through so I likely won't remember the details of the former episodes too well. So I liked your argument about Gluttony, I didn't really think about it like that when I watched the latter episodes--but it makes sense. With Sloth--you know I don't really dislike characters that don't want to do anything, sometimes people need a break from life, sometimes they need to recover like perhaps they were overworked and you could probably make that argument with Sloth since he had to dig that gigantic travel--but I think I should save this for a better character. ;;^^ I liked it when Pride said that some people would give their life to protect some things, like he didn't say that it was a weakness and in fact he said that he admired his mother for being willing to throw her life away to protect someone so it shows that he respected that about humans. I think it was sad when Greed first died--I don't know why he had to die the second time. I'm unsure if it was the same Greed the whole time or not, but I do agree with what you said. You know, there was a lot of good cliffhangers, and when Greed comes in to kill Wrath is one of them. What you said about Wrath made me think, he's not the one who said it's okay if Madam Bradley died--that was one of the other members of the high council, huh? It was sad when Envy died too. And then there's Father, he was just a dwarf in the flask and he desired very much to get out. One thing I've heard people say is that humans are born good, but that isn't the case, humans are born with the capacity to do good but with the desire to do evil--but as you've said it's only when someone is taught right from wrong that they know the difference between the two. As someone else said here, it isn't always black and white and people choose what sort of life they live. So with that in mind, it's unfortunate that at some point or another that his desires became distorted and he ended up choosing the bad path. I like how they tried to give every character a reason for what they do. ^^
  13. @C_C_S I don't know the details but I think the franchise has started being licensed in europe, where it hasn't been licensed outside of japan before. Funny thing, I meant to watch the first Jewelpet anime but got confused and started Lady Jewelpet by accident.
  14. Oh? May I ask why that is? I haven't seen the former, but I can say Classroom of the Elite was a interesting anime. @Kaylie Otaku The original or Brotherhood? I just finished Brotherhood and was going to watch HxH afterwards--but I thought I'd wait for the manga to end before picking it back up. I don't think I'll watch anything else today, I did have plans but am feeling a little ill right now.
  15. Boku no Hero Academia season 3 but I don't know if I want to start it back up or wait for all the seasons to come out, Devils Line becuase I read about the manga in a magazine, Mahou Shoujo Site but I'm a bit skeptical, I'm afraid it might turn into another Märchen Mädchen and I'm not sure if I need to read Mahou Shoujo of the End before I see it, Aikatsu Friends! or I might just watch the original Aikatsu!, Kiratto Pri☆chan or I might just watch the original PriPara. There's also a few stragglers from the winter season as well. Yeah. I'll probably wait until summer rolls around to watch these--or just watch them at a later time. I'm much the same way--I like my anime to be short so I can be done with it quick and move on to the next one.
  16. That's okay, I probably shouldn't have put you on the spot like that. VV
  17. I saw that one a while ago. I really need to go and rewatch all of the movies too, it's been ages since I watched them initially. It was funny, but it could of benefited from taking itself more seriously in some scenes.
  18. It seems you have a lot more merchandise then me. ^^ Of course. I suppose it would only make sense since ice is a pretty common ability. My next question would be this. The definition of cosine changes relative to the angle being referred to, but would it not make more sense if the definition of cosine remained constant? Why or why not?
  19. Anymore? Interesting. If I recall correctly there isn't even a blizzard card--actually, was there any sort of ice card at all?
  20. I'm waiting for the winter anime to pile up and also trying to complete the titles that I put on hold, so I'm back to watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and it is great! ^^ I've gotten to episode 39 where they change the opening to Period and am expecting to complete it early next week. = )
  21. If we're talking about the anime with the best opening and ending theme, then I would personally go with Selector Infected WIXOSS--Killy Killy Joker and Realize are pretty good songs, I think.
  22. I watch Black Panther recently and thought it to be a 8, now let me talk about spoilers:
  23. I'd say 89 titles. 8 of which are manga, 8 are sequels and 3 are OVAs--so if we're just talking about TV series' then 70 titles.
