Hello there!

Hey. I go OraOraOuroboros around here, but call me Triple O.

I realized I need to start looking for more anime friends because my irl friends can be hard to get a hold of and my one online friend has been showing some shades of elitism. Well, maybe, maybe not. He's gotten very picky about things, and while we do generally get along, lately I've questioned if I should venture into the general fanbase to find new people at the risk of re-opening old wounds. (experiences with friend until now: good. experiences with this fanbase as a whole: fetal position.) I won't get into it, but things were not pleasant.

On to more positive things. I'm more prone to watching action series, but I like to laugh and think too. I haven't looked into anything that came out super-recently (blame afore-mentioned friend....also non-existent self-esteem) but might consider it.

Welp, I hope things turn out okay here, or at the very least people don't get the pitchforks.

I would probably recommend Fate/Zero, Samurai Champloo, Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, K-On, Death Note, and Code Geass.

I can assure you that everybody here is extremely awesome and extremely friendly!

How about Romance? It's my personal favorite genre.

Here are some suggestions:

Eureka 7

Toradora

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo

Angel Beats

Steins;Gate

Those are just a few of my faves.

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll wish you could punch some anime characters in their face. :P They are fantastic.

Welp, I hope things turn out okay here, or at the very least people don't get the pitchforks.

Pitchforks? I more of a sword person myself xP You shouldn't have any trouble out of anybody here. If anybody gives you trouble, I'll cross swords with them!

I should clarify the definition of "super-recently." I'm referring to things that have aired in Japan since 2012-13ish. I own all of Death Note and Samurai Champloo is great. I've avoided most of the things to come out either because the internet has become quite hostile or I'm a bit of a squid.

EDIT: @Ryuji That's quite reassuring. I'm not exactly green when it comes to anime, I just know a limited amount of people I can talk to about it. I recognized every series name under the "welcome back, onii-chan" thing, but only knew Mikasa and Mayuri. Went with Mayuri. Didn't dig too far into either AoT/SnK or Gate of them thar Steins (optional semi-colon). I have trouble sticking with any series these days, short or long. Motivation is hard to maintain at times. It's not typically the show.

One of Anime Forum's goals is to create a friendly environment where we can discuss the Anime we all love so much.

Mayuri is a great choice! I really enjoyed her character.

For me, I just have to get addicted to the characters. For example, in Clannad, I fell in love with the characters almost instantly and the desire to find out what happened next kept me watching Clannad even when I wanted to watch episodes of other anime. It's one of those anime that makes me feel intense feelings of sadness, joy, pain, and love.

:o This is my 500th post! <3

Sidonia no Kishi

Magi (not sure when it came out but it's amazing in both action and comedy)

Kuroko no Basuke (basketball anime , it's awesome )

Kangoku Gakuen (you will laugh so hard you cry [ I know I did ] but depending on how you feel about loads of fanservice you might not want to watch it)

Detroit Metal City (anime short series that is one of the most funny things I have ever seen)

Nanatsu no Taizai

I have seen bits of K, Magi, and the first Ippo series that came out. Kenichi I remember not getting into, but I may revisit it.

But Kangoku Gakuen........I'll pass. Recently I had a random urge to look at ecchi manga (I get those every so often) and I looked at it completely blind. Excessive fanservice is one thing, but I was really turned off by all the dominatrix-like sadism and the guys suddenly being total masochists. I groaned. Not my thing. Sorry.

Some of these I know nothing about, but no telling when I'll get to those. My watching habits tend to randomly rotate around a certain amount of series at one time and I watch a few episodes of one and then feel like doing something else, whether that's switching shows or just doing other stuff. I tend to drift back and forth from watching things, but at least I don't stop for no real reason like I used to.

Understandable , I just found the planning that the guys did was very well done and I enjoyed the comedy a lot :P but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

I know what you mean , I have about three different folders for things I am currently watching Currently Releasing , Finished Releasing and On Hold and depending on what I feel like watching I cycle through the three.

That was some great planning with the girl's bath......and then things got weird......and that's saying something with a guy drawn like this walking around...

Welcome to af, have fun and enjoy your time hereenju_grin_icon_by_magical_icon-d7qhpb3.gif.a577ffa15a159905a8bee23dcdae0980.gif .

Dont worry they are all nice here, well at the very least they dont bite.

And you should be happy you got an elitist friend, that kind of guy is actually better sometimes if you want to discuss about a series xD.

About recommendation I cant tell you much without specific genre.. sorry.

But I keep list of anime that I think its good. (Kaminomi zhiru sekai, Hataraku Maou-sama, Sword Art Online, Bakuman, Oregairu, DRRR!, Kokoro Connect) give it a try Im pretty sure you would atleast like it.

It is more me than him, admittedly, but he's been one of the very few anime fans I've spoken to for a while. I had noticed a change in him recently, and decided to take a break from him to find folks that even if I did disagree with I wouldn't be afraid of being lashed out at and trolled endlessly like I am with this guy. I admit to having some rather serious issues that I didn't want to even hint at.

How curious....I've been having similar issues with my friend, too (although I can't really avoid her cause we see each other every day) *another friendly pat on the back* Don't worry, though..... you can disagree with us here all you want :P *gives cookie*
