What is your favorite anime music era from 80s city pop to j-pop of 2020s

 

My favorite music era is 80s big fan of op of City Hunter Bubblegum Crisis Patlabor Yawara

Me too with this. I really like the early 2000s style of anime endings and openings when it comes to songs.

When I come to think of it, you're both right, most of the anime music I listen to comes from the early 2000s or 90s. I'm not saying that the more recent animes don't have good music but they don't have the sort of OP & EDs that I'd want to listen to on their own. I've got quite a large collection of anime soundtrack CDs but it must be at least 10 years since I liked a series' music enough to want to buy the CD.

I haven't very much found an opening or ending I want to sit and listen to in some years with these newer anime. Older ones are definitely where it's at or perhaps I'm just getting old and newer songs are less appealing even when it comes to anime music.

Absolutely the late 90s and mid 00s my favorite Jrock bands being the Pillows and AKFG by far.

I like the 80s and 90s most myself but the early 2000s does have good music too, can't disagree there.

The early and mid 2000 era. A lot of the anime I watch are from this time frame and I like the songs and soundtracks for them.

I can't say I'm a fan of anime music, but the tunes from Naruto I can hear in my head even now. Especially those moments when the Akatsuki characters appeared on the screen
