  1. Um, let's see. If I only count ones that I have finished, nine. Including the ones I'm not done with, twelve. Including the ones I watched enough of to say I "used to watch" and not just "I tried", but dropped for one reason or another, seventeen. *eighteen- - wait *nineteen
  2. Mostly because of stigma related things. For example, there are people who think all anime is packed with shameless amounts of fanservice and oversexualizes all of the female characters, even if they're minors (lolicon and what happens when the high school setting is paired with fanservice). I can understand why they'd think this, given there are non-hentai shows that do that, otherwise it wouldn't be well known as an anime trope. However, because they don't watch anime, they don't know that not all anime does that type of stuff, can be focused on actually telling a story, and won't break it's own plot development for the sake of drawing more plot development. It would be like saying all movies have robots when the only one you have ever seen was the first Michael Bay Transformers movie when if first came out. There's also disrespectful weeaboos who hate every country that isn't Japan and the bad apples who do absolutely crazy stuff over anime. But those people just get the most attention. Every fandom has it's crazy people, they usually stick out the most.
  3. 1. I'm probably a liiiiiittle bit too obsessed with politics and philosophy for my own good. It's mostly because my specific ideology has a very significant effect on my behavior and is basically my personal calling, but I also just find exploring different people's views on things and trying to figure out what led them to see the world that way. Various anime provide insight into more points of view because of new concepts, situations, and historical context. 2. I have a mild case of yandere and I fall in love a lot. Now, I wouldn't go as far to actually kill/hurt anyone for dating my crush, but I have trouble controlling jealousy because I'm a bit too passionate for my own good when it comes to love. I'm monogamous and taken, but still have crushes on both real people, historical figures, and fictional characters. I'm just picky when it comes to actually picking people, including with waifus and hasubandos. Generally I avoid shipping wars, I used to be involved in those when I was younger and I'm kinda embarrassed I did, but by Kira do not touch Doitsu around me. 3. I still sleep with plushies because I get lonely very easily and I'm bad at socialization. Like, I have friends, I just have trouble blending in with normal humans. 4. I look slightly like Casca from Berserk. 5. I have gender dysphoria, and because of that I identify as bigender. Which is why I never clarified my gender on here, I'd rather just kinda leave my account ambiguous so people don't have to ask which one, I could see why that would be kind of annoying.
  4. Ran out of pills for ADHD, couldn't focus all day. ;n;

  5. I've played the third game's story mode so many times I could finish in two days. I also had the first one on PSP, but then I was too young to really finish it since I barely knew what I was doing. I wish my PS2 still worked so I could play it one more time, even if I already know what's going to happen it still takes me back to happy memories.
  6. Is it bad to binge Paranoia Agent in one day? Because that was my entire afternoon yesterday and I regret nothing.

  7. Well, when I was a kid I was watching Pokémon on TV, but I didn't know what anime and manga were back then. Heck, I didn't know Japan existed, I was that young. I got into the show because I already liked the game. I didn't know what anime was until my older cousin showed me Naruto. That led me to watching various others, most importantly Pita Ten and Saru Getchu (Ape Escape)'s anime. The story in various anime I watched caught my eye because they were less episodic than some of the stuff I had available in TV and interested me more. Basically I felt like a "big kid" or something watching them because they had a different tone than the cartoons I watched before. During that time I was your average weeaboo kid who wanted to make an anime when I grew up, and move to Japan and marry a Japanese man. I was one of those weebs who thought I should've been born Japanese just because I liked some of their cartoons, Vocaloid, and Touhou. I tried to draw things with the screen paused, it was a major inspiration in getting me to take drawing more seriously because I wanted to make it look good. Heck, during the younger part of that phase I thought anime people were actually real in Japan (keep in mind, I was like 7, I was dumb back then), but that could've a side effect of my imagination being very strong all of my life. I was the type of kid to make various fictional characters my imaginary friends. And yes, I did try to learn Japanese by watching anime and looking up random words despite not understanding things like their grammer, sentence order, or really anything vital, and in the end I was too lazy to commit to it. I was just a kid, after all. Nowadays, while I have a ton of a respect for Japanese culture, I'm not a weeaboo. I'm now a cringey NoticemeDoitsuphile Germanophile. :3 My interest in anime and manga lies in multiple things. Firstly, while obviously not every artist looks the same, the art styles and expression are something that draws me in. Secondly, the stories and writing. There are multiple western comics and animated series, movies, and shows that have good stories I enjoy as wepl, but when it comes from a different part of the world, a different culture, I'm more likely to see concepts I never thought of brought up, or different ways of looking at them. I like seeing how good writing and clever visuals can collaborate to tell a compelling story. Also, yanderes are a thing.
  8. Using things we are familiar with, whether 'we' means society, humanity, or select types of people, can really help a creator get across a tone to us as the reader/viewer. Even when we're looking at a world that is nowhere near real life, there are many things that get a stronger reaction because of their similarity to things that happen in real life. What sort of things, specific scenes or not, really get to you and why? I'm the type of person who needs space to move around. I don't like being crowded, especially because of other people. I don't like random people getting in my space enough to breathe at me. Especially when they're sick. So, the type of body horror that involves a bunch people somehow stuck together but all still being conscious always makes me fidgety. Like, to have the ability to move on your own taken away? Your independence and any chance at accomplishing things on your own, stripped away? Not a moment of privacy, even worse if the other people in the mass can read your thoughts? Trypophobia triggers also get to me, because it makes me feel like there were insects crawling through the person and I really hate insects getting anywhere near me in the first place. Uzumaki really hit me hard there with both of those. The very idea of rape bothers me because I used to know someone who went through that and saw how it's affected her and I just get really upset at the thought of anyone having to go through something so traumatic. It's also one of my fears. Seeing children die on any medium always disturbs me more than seeing adults die. It's probably because we naturally feel the need to protect children because they're innocent and vulnerable and need guidance, and seeing something bad happen to them thus feels worse than seeing it happen to an adult, because the child is weaker and less developed mentally and physically than the average adult. Poor Satoko...
  9. Naruto: Don't feel ashamed of filing a restraining order. das 4 u saucekey You can do almost anything you set your mind to with hard work and determination. Kaiba: You never know how much you'll miss something until it's gone, even more so with people. Memories are important to who we are as people, even if they aren't all pleasant. Love can make you do crazy things, but be careful with who you trust and what you do for people. There's more to people than you think,and no one is pure good or pure evil. Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni: Some problems are impossible to solve without complete cooperation. The little things you do can have massive effects on how things play out even if you don't think so.
  10. Ooh, interesting topic. My personal philosophy sings with my political views quite well. I'm an authoritarian, for example, and thus the relationship between authority and underling is very important to me. I believe that leadership positions of any kind should be based on merit and the spirit of the person. If they don't live up to their own rhetoric or have no desire to lead, and instead just want to rule they have no right to demand respect from anyone. A leader should have passion for the people they are leading, and all of their decisions should be for the wellbeing of their underling(s). Because of this I tend to have a lot of sympathy for fictional monarchs and dictators, but how much I like them depends. As respect and obedience should be earned, and laws should be based on taking care of the country and it's people, the law should be strictly enforced to protect the people. All laws should be clearly explained and be there for good reason that can be proven. The underling, or the people of the country in this case, should also be judged by their spirit and merit. So long as they obey the law and contribute to the country, they should not be discriminated against. A leader's love for his/her people is vital, spouses' love for each other is vital, a parent's love for their child is vital. Love is good. Someone who loves will be willing to fight for the people they want to protect, and thus I respect soldiers. If someone dies without passion, for a dream or a cause, their life was wasted and it is a very saddening thing. I view Griffith from Berserk's philosophy to be very interesting. I don't agree with a lot of the things he does (especially later on). He sees everyone around him as a pawn to help him achieve his dream of having a kingdom, so much so that anyone who doesn't have their own dream isn't seen as a true friend to him. He is very selfish, but justifies it this way; "All of these people died to get me where I am today, it would be a waste of their efforts to not keep going." This is why he's so ruthless and desperate. He wanted to get there as soon as possibe so all of the mercenaries who died for him wouldn't be lost for nothing. That's why he doesn't see anything wrong with losing people in the process, he sees their following of him as a sacrifice they chose to make, although they don't know what he'll later do to them. He's such an interesting character.
  11. This picture of Tamama from Keroro Gunsou sums up my day. I just want to eat and sleep right now but I can't because responsibilities.
