  1. So, I didn't see a thread on here about the "That time I got reincarnated as a slime" anime and I was wondering, what do you all think about it? I'm liking it so far ≧◡≦
  2. I'm looking an anime like oban star-races, space dandy , kekkai sensen and redline, with a lot of cool species, if you know any please tell me. *I've alredy watched pokemon and digimon*
  3. What are your thoughts on No Game No Life, will there be a season 2?
  4. Hello everyone, today I’ll be reviewing episode one of Sword Art Online. Let’s do this, shall we? As soon as it starts, within the first 20 seconds, I am HOOKED, and I can tell I will enjoy this. Unlike One Piece, I really like the art style of this. I guess I’m just into this sort of thing. Seriously, by the time the dude has fired up his RP headset, I’m shaking with excitement. The concept, the art style, the characters, it’s all awesome. For some reason, other VRV users have so many negative comments. Stuff like “this is trash.” And “why am I rewatching this sucky show? Guess I’m that bored...” Then again, VRV users always have something negative to say, regardless of how good a show is. A bit later on, and I’m really starting to like Kirito. He’s really nice, although something’s a bit... off about him. I’m really hoping quarantine makes humanity design some sort of huge game like SAO. It doesn’t have to be exactly the same, but it’ll still be awesome. Hopefully, they don’t trap us in this real-world version, though! Honestly, the reveal of Kayaba wasn’t a surprise to me at all. If them not being able to logout really was a bug, the writers would have missed an awesome chance. Plus, the whole story is centered around them being trapped in Aincrad. Klein getting left behind by Kirito is a bit devastating, but I’m sure we’ll see him again. I hope they’re a ship, since I always love LGBTQ+ representation in my fandoms. (Plus, cause I just love their dynamic.) Overall, even if it was a bit predictable, it was really good. So many elements added to the enjoyableness of it. I’ll give this episode 5 out of 5 stars. See you next week for episode two!
  5. So they released the new PV annoucnign that shaman king will be getting a reboot, like FMA brotherhood style, and I for one am super excited especially I grew up with this anime and even read the manga, and the manga is absolutely amazing, so i was hoping others like me are also excited that shaman king is getting a new chance at showing what kind of anime it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyzqCA8aVSo
  6. Hi, just testing the waters here to see how popular this forum really is but I would really hate leaving my post without replies for days if nobody knows this short lived anime. I want anime fans to be aware of the shows I discovered so one day they'll expect future projects from me based on the shows I talked about here and since some of these shows might be too taboo for the family friendly community out there, Im also working on a clean cut/edited version where adult anime shows can be easy and safe to watch without worrying the taboo parts lol. Anyways, I want to get down to the anime I wanted to discuss and show off screenshots here if nobody minds! Adult anime are not my favorite type of shows but they have a very interesting lore that could have made them more famous or a potential future if the writers concerned the family audience instead of targeting adults back then. To some people especially Americans who might have seen this before and thought it was just a 90's series but I can bet that many English viewers might not be aware of the fact this show once started life as a 4 volume comic series in the late 80's! Since the original comics was never released here in English, nobody knows at least the American fans won't have any idea how the original story turned out because the anime adaption itself was a very poor adaptation! it's a Horrible shame for this story that could have seen better success if not for the unnecessary nasty content that made Maya known infamous for and the likely reason why it was quickly forgotten after the 2 episode anime and the 4 comics. Maya is 18 years old who got tricked by a mysterious fortune teller, he tricked her into looking at the crystal ball that fool people thinking he's an ordinary fortune teller but "UNFORTUNATELY" (pun lol) he's not and now she end up in another planet probably a lot of people don't know about! Maya is like a combination between She-Ra and Prince Adam where she starts out as a plain and simple young woman who might be still in her late school years or just in time ready for graduate, she eventually becomes the "Most powerful woman in the universe" (another pun lmao) when she finds that mysterious sword she pulled out after getting herself sucked in by a magical portal inside the bad guy's castle, beats me why in the heck would it be locked inside awaiting for the hero while she was held prisoner there? This is one of those scenes that will continue to confuse us for years to come! since we won't know anyway lol. Here some screenshots of Maya's cool transformation! Does her look scream out She-Ra or He-Man to all of us fans here? lol. But Maya is not the only character in the show, of course! Here the others below I want to introduce to the community of today's anime era of the most forgotten adult anime characters in the 80's comic and the 90's anime adaption! Heckle and Jaeckle are named after 2 very old cartoon characters Heckle and Jeckle better known in the West long time ago. Heckle and Jaeckle are not birds but frog-looking folks who acted like couple of perverts working for the evil slave king at first until after they sold Maya for 5 million, she was later taken hostage inside the castle and they rescued her, eventually becoming her helpful partners but not very long when when they somehow got lost in the woods and she was taken again. They're not much of a fighter but least one appeared to be armed with a axe. Leyna, one of my favorites! She works inside the castle of the bad guys where she constantly cook to fed slaves held in the castle, she becomes fast friends with Maya and even has the key to escape! But they didn't make it (TOO BAD! game over lmao) Not much is known about her other than working for the villains even if she has no evil intentions, she does appear to be likely another slave sold to them but instead cooking and not tied up in chains or torture chairs lmao. In the comic, she stayed in the castle while Maya successfully escaped. I don't know her name, she always appear very short and briefly through the episodes, where she seem to act as a spy! What is her background story and how in the hell does she know Maya prior to the current events? The mysterious fortune teller! Nothing else known about him other than the fact that Heckle calls those people sorcerers, they pick up people from Earth and teleport them to the mysterious planet possibly working for the evil king to bring down more slaves from Earth to sell! I don't know his name but doesn't look like Marth or Ike? He is also searching for Maya for whatever reason. He doesn't seem to be evil and more likely from Earth or another planet! Again, its a mystery how he knows Maya prior to the current event! "Roys our boys!" lmao XD Below are some of the unknown bad guys! More pics to come later! About the anime, this was only released in adult stores on VHS and DVD, a very rare thing to find across Texas unless you live in rich areas like maybe California or Florida but Im not sure about New York or Washington since I never been to those states. I censored the box in case the community is sensitive about adult content here and I understand that. This is called Cool Devices, it was out during late 90's and only dubbed in America, it was officially banned in Canada which means nobody knows or even aware of Maya there! Canada has this very weird thing about banning adult content anime or adult shows which makes me wonder how Canadians manage to live without hentai or adult videos there, guess its a sexual free society there or the fact maybe most Canadians are asexual? Or maybe adult anime was banned there to avoid confusion children for cartoons? Who knows the laws of Canada there lol. The VHS version includes 2 episodes and 1 episode of the famous Kite! This short would be the first of the Kite series and it later gets its own full length anime movie few years, making it the most popular short of the Cool Devices! The others went long forgotten and down to obscurity with only few of the other Cool Device stories getting their own comics or anime. Here some covers of the original comics that never saw release outside Japan! I think they were released around 1989 or 1988? The comics are very hard to find as only few of them can be found online on ebay but they're fairly common on Yahoo Japan auctions. One more thing, is a screenshot of the sword! Looks like the Falcion from the popular Fire Emblem games does it? lol. Thats all for now but look forward to more Maya posts in the near future from me!
  7. I joined this forum a couple weeks ago and I've been trying to submit information to those with questions regarding an anime they saw in the past (Recommendations Section). If you saw something in the early 2000's or 90's...post your question if you're looking for the name of or information regarding an older anime in the Recommendations section. I'll try to answer this week or next week if I recognize the title. Even if I don't recognize your description entirely; I can still try to point you in the right direction. If you posted 'looking for...' context in Recommendations; check to see if I haven't already written an answer. I joined Anime Forums to help people find or rediscover classic anime. I know over 300 classic titles by memory and have knowledge of some rarities which never made it out of Japan. If it's regarding manga, though...I'm not quite as helpful (I never read manga quite like I watch anime). Advise is free...take it ✌
  8. Hi, I've been looking for this anime so much time that I don't really remember how long. So anime definitely aired before 2000. It had so much erotic content, but the main plot was so great that erotic content I don't really recall. I saw only one episode at my friends. Ever since I did not see anything like that. What I remember is that, main plot was about some cult who was sacrificing ladies, piercing trough their bodies and so on. It was so epic, I've never seen anything like that. So main heroine, wasn't really connected with that cult, and she fall in love with some guy, and for some reason she had been attacked. But she had some magical power which protected her, and she gave her earring to her boyfriend (earring contained that power). So she fall in love and gave away her power. After a while, her boyfriend started using that power and saved her. But got into cult's hands and became a monster. Anime had a lot of sexual content, Ecchi but not Hentai. A lot of violence, really good plot , and all that Japanese stuff, which we like. If you've seen that, please let me know the name of anime. Thank you!
  9. If ya had money to burn on a pimped out (ITASHA) anime car. Which model brand would you pick and or anime waifu/husbando/daughterfu to go with it? Examples to pick from:
  10. So I was getting really bored sitting around waiting for new episodes of the current shows I am watching and now most are on delay it seems. UGH. So I decided to go back and watch something I hadn't finished watching and since it had been a little while since I last watched it I started it from the beginning. I think the whole reason I had stopped watching in the first place was because when I first came out there was some kind of break in the show and as I was waiting most likely started watching other things and then at some point totally forgot about it. Now that is not saying it isn't a good show because as it turns out I quite liked this anime. However I will say after finishing it this time there are so many holes in this thing. I ended up not being about to sleep last night cause it got me thinking about all kinds of things and what I wanted to write in this blog. So dumb!! ATTENTION MAY BE SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!! Gate: Thus the Japanese Self-Defense Force Fought There A 24 episode first season though if you look it up it might refer to the later half of the series as season 2 because like I mentioned before there was a short break before it started back up. I recently read though that another season was in the works which makes me feel better because hopefully some of the holes that I found might be metaphorically filled. Like the title refers you guessed it a Gate appears more like mysterious tunnel in the middle you guessed it again Japan. Those that came through the gate were super dumb and started killing people. The hero of the show Itami well he is my type of guy lol. He is a giant Otaku (yay!!!) but apparently is part of JSF and later you'll find a damn good solider though he also makes the excuse his job is just to fund his main passion of being an Otaku. You learn a lot of amazing things about him that his fellow soldiers find crazy and unbelievable cause he is super lazy really. Which is just hilarious and it's kind of like me I feel. After saving many lives during the invasion he gets prompted and soon finds himself on a team that would head through the gate to take the fight to them and secure the gate so something like this doesn't happen again. The people and empire on the other side never had a chance with our advance weaponry. They are stuck in a more Roman era with bows, swords, and shields. After establashing themselves and pretty much slaughtering everyone this is where the fun and story really begins. Magic girls, animal girls, one or two demi gods, and some elves what more could you ask for. Oh how about a few rounds with a fire breathing dragon. Poor Itami ends of with a little bit of a harem. As they try to reach some peace talks with the kingdom in this other realm other forrces move from both sides. Apprently other nations other than Japan want to get there hands on the girls when them come back for a visit/military/public inquiry of sorts. That was a fun episode. Then there is King he is a big jerk, the Princess is really the one who lends her hands to peace talks. There are 2 Princes' one who is a totally idiot and sadistic freak which you get to see in an episode. nice silhouette action (XXX). The other prince is more thoughtful though we really don't get to see to much of him. So maybe next season we will see more from him. Idiot Prince some how comes into power and a little struggle happens but ultimately JSF gets the upperhand. So at the end of the season kind of wraps up nicely with a few couples forming (lol) but there are too many holes in the story that really make me want another season to resolve the issues. Also I will say the story travels quick but nicely, all the characters that come into play are nice but there were a few I wanted to know about them I guess cause they were so lovable. Mainly Itami's group. He ends up with a small unit under him and they pretty cool. Okay second Prince barely sees any screen time and then disappears and leaves his sister to fend for herself, not that she is week she sorta made herself into a knight and started her own group under a rose banner. So she can fight but she is a bit naive really. Here are some of my issues with the show. Now I am not military expert but they base the military a little too much like the American military in my opinion seems just odd. Playing TAPS and stuff and the way they operated seemed to similar. I only say this because I served myself. I don't think JSF would operate in the same manner. But like I said it is just my opinion. *EDIT* I forgot about the issue of the actual Gate. Okay so in a later episode they go to a Mage city were Lelei who is a magical user is trying to become a master that's really side note. Anyway when they go the talk with the Grand Master and apparently Rory had given her homework. Basically to find out about the gate. The grand master begins to tell why there are some many different races there and well the turns out the gate has been opening and closing for a long time and each time it opened a new race would come through. Which one makes sense as to why the Empire showed up in the first place because they already knew it was going to open and and some point before the gate actual appears the boundaries had already blurred and they kidnapped a few Japanese citizens. So I bring this because they talk about and then it's almost like no one cares that the gate might close. Struck me quite odd that there was no emergency of telling superiors about this. Like I don't know how long the gate is suppose to stay open for. It's really not discussed at all. So I find that bit of info alarming cause I'm like you guys might get stuck there I don't know. Anyways this was the other thing that really bothered me about this show. With all that I still really enjoyed the show.

  14. Hello everyone, I'm working on a research project focused on the role that setting plays in the consumption and spread of anime. To further this, I have a series of questions for those who have seen Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away and Makoto Shinkai's Your Name. The questions are as follow. Thank you for your time. 1) What is your nationality/country of origin? 2) What country do you currently live in? 3) How old were you when you watched Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (Spirited Away)? 4) How old were you when you watched Kimi no na wa. (Your Name.)? 5) Which film sounded more interesting, compelling, or exciting to you before you watched it? 6) While watching the films, which one was able to hold your attention and keep you caring about the storyline, the world the characters inhabited, or the premise? 7) After you finished the films, which one did a better job of keeping you invested in the story, world, or premise? 8) Which aspects of the films played the biggest role in your answers to questions 5-7? 9) Which film do you like better personally, and why? Is there a certain aspect or element that one film possesses over the other that makes you enjoy it or like it more?

  17. The first 2 episodes are out on crunchyroll. It was much anticipated new adaption of the comic. I was a little worried with anything that gets too much hype and I did not want to be disappointed. However I was surprised at how good it was. First I wanted for the first time to look at reviews just too see sometimes when I see reviews are reaction clips they are a little overboard in my opinion but it was pretty decently accurate. Okay Let's get down to it. First episode starts off with the beginning of how and little of why they each entered the tower which was a little vague but later on when Bam (main character) flashes back to his past you get the sense of the story and what Rachel (vague second main character) means to him. The op was freaking excellent montage sequence and fantastic song by Stray Kids (kpop group) also the ending song is by them. It gives off a good raw emotional feel to it. The sound effects/soundtrack during the show is really good also. Like they have this music playing while Bam is running in this cave and it had like kinda creepy music playing in the background that gave it this really chilling effect like you were there too. It was cool. I felt the art style of the show is a bit choppy but honestly I think it compliments the feel of the anime in way. There are already so many interesting and intriguing characters. Oddly enough one of the side characters become my favorite Evan. He is freaking hilarious. He has kind of a dumb demeanor but he is smart and provides various comic relief. Though this anime is a bit action, adventure, drama feel and has some really funny comedic parts that keep it from kinda of tipping over the too serious point. So I think there is quite a balance that I feel is rarely seen in anime. Also the character Lero Ro in ep 2 is voiced by Kenjroo Tsuda I love that mans voice. This fantasia of sorts would be a good way to describe the journey so far. This is definitely a must watch anime.!!! Down the rabbit hole we go!
  18. Ok, I have no artistic talent of my own, but I know there's a few others here without such a handicap. Now is your time. What is an amabie, you ask? Well, wikipedia says, "... the amabiko is a multi-legged prophesizing creature which prescribes the display of its artistic likeness to defend against sickness or death." Yokai.com - obviously(?) the leading authority on yokai - has this somewhat more useful description, If anyone has some drawing skills and would like to take a crack at illustrating the above description(s) - for fun and (possibly) the aid of humanity - then post your artwork below. I think a bunch of people might benefit from seeing it before this whole thing is over. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amabie http://yokai.com/amabie/ https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/amabie
  19. One more page and I will sleep same thing I always told to myself when i watch anime, but this manga in titled "demon slayer" keeps me alive and never allows me to rest as page goes by, it keeps me reading it until i reach the last page but until now I'm half way through with it and it's still not finish yet, now I'm trouble finding my sleep in midday, I guess I should continue to read this amazing manga.
  20. Hi! I've been searching for an old anime that I once watched long ago - around the same time in which Armitage III was still being shown (I was able to find that anime, and now I'm looking for the other one that I watched around that same time) - I want to say 2005-06? The general scheme I recall about this anime was there were military personnel working with scientists that were trying to stop these huge spectral-like monsters that could basically float and fly anywhere. The monsters could pass through any solid objects, and when they passed through the human soldiers they would die instantly. There's two scenes that I remember distinctly: 1. A group of soldiers were going out on a mission in a cargo plane - there were these very long spectral monsters whizzing by in the distance - the pilots were trying to avoid them. Cut scene to one of the spectral monsters just going right through the cargo plane - leaving it physically unharmed but instantly killing the soldiers it phased through. It wasn't so much messy but the soldiers definitely died painfully! 2. In another scene, a special group of soldiers are coming back from a mission - upon their return, each of the soldiers are checked for whether or not they contain traces of the spectral monsters they fought against - one soldier was indeed feeling unwell and was placed into a sci-fi surgical table - a machine was then operated on by another scientist who was searching for and eliminating the traces of whatever this thing was from the soldier's body. They had to sift around quite a bit in order to find and destroy the foreign entity, each second passing bringing the soldier closer to his body's breaking point. I apologize if this is hard to describe, and whether its appropriate to just ask for help this way. If anyone has any good tips on searching through sci-fi anime from back in those days, I would really appreciate it!
  21. Hi all. So i am fan of harem anime like High School DxD manga is slow and anime update slow so just started reading it novel and its DARN cool. You Guys will love it. and also Re:Monster manga and novel series if you guys know about it . Same category (harem) and op mc.
  22. People think shanks is the strongest yonko but they never saw him even fighting. Yes, I'm talking about when people put their yonko power rankings and its something like 1st - shanks, 2nd - kaido .. etc.. Why shanks first when you already know that Kaido is the strongest creature alive and when it's 1v1 u bet on kaido... In my opinion, the list goes like this 1. Kaido. 2. Big Mom. 3. Blackbeard. 4. Shanks. But you can disagree. Big Mom, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated characters in one piece. A lot of people think she is the weakest yonko while we have only seen her get hurt by her own attack ones. She was able to defeat a 300-year-old strongest giant with one hit as a 5-year-old without her fruit and even Pirate King Roger avoided fighting her and stole her poneglyph. She even clashed with Kaido for a time and the fact she has such a strong crew might even make her the strongest if we also are talking about there crew.
  23. Realtively new to anime, so I am looking for some inspiration in animes and anime streaming services. Currently I have Netflix, Wakanim and Crunchyroll. Favorites this far is: Death Note, Attack on Titan, The Seven Deadly Sins and Sword Art Online. Looking for similar type of series. A little dark, fight for survival, but strong characters who has strong bonds with eachother. Particulary fond of characters as: Mikasa, Levi, Annie, Ymir and Eren from AoT, L from Death Note, Meliodas and Ban from 7DS, and Kiroto, Asuna, Shugu from SAO. Have made an attempt on Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, but I just can't be bothered to watch more than the first episode because of the whole Chibi situation and I feel like the characters and the "mood" is a little to juvenile and cheerfull for that type of show. Is this show going to get better? I feel such a pressure from all the fanboys of this show so my attitude has become "meh." Looking for some with high quality storyline 4-6 seasons. But if there is a show with hundreds of episode which is bingeable and is quality troughout I'll gladly take reccomendations. Please give a little description of the show especially if it is a must watch that isn't what I have requested. But hey be my guest reccomend what you feel.
  24. I was reading this on manga rock about how this guy defeated the demon army but was hated by humans so he decided to join the demon army but the demon leader didnt like him so he tried to prove hisself to the four general's and become enlisted into the demon army
  25. I want to find an anime like my hero academia. Should I watch hunter x hunter? Any other suggestions? I have watched: One piece, Naruto, Boruto, Dragon Ball, dragon Ball super, demon slayer, sword art online, one punch man, attack on Titans, seven deadly sins, and Fullmetal alchemist. Thank you for your help.
