  1. Hellloooo! (I hope I'm putting this post in the right category!) Tonight, I will start watching My Hero Academia. I thought it would be fun if anybody else is still in the beginning of the series, that we have some place to talk about it while we are watching it? (I never used a forum before maybe thats more of a chat/discord kind of topic idk) Anyways, it would be fun to talk about our impressions with someone who is also experiencing MHA for the first time!
  2. I'm not entirely sure if this topic belongs here or in manga discussion since there usually has to be a manga before there is an animated series. In either case, there are sometimes established anime universes with loads of creative possibilities which for some reason are neglected and never used for any story angles. I can think of two in particular that I could see a lot of potential with. I would even have half a mind to actually volunteer as a writer to try and make these canon just to experience the joy of seeing it ( if I had the power to do so ). If anyone sees titles mentioned here that they have never watched, I encourage you to skip over those and read about the next title ( and so on ) to avoid any spoilers. GTO - "Great Teacher Onizuka" My Idea For a Followup Sequel Premise: If I understand correctly, GTO itself was actually even a sequel/spinoff to some earlier works written by the manga author that featured the titular character before his career as a school teacher. For some reason this is just the one that made it big, kinda like "Star Wars" with its Galactic Civil War story arc in the original film trilogy. Anyway... Following the events at the end of GTO, Onizuka begins competing in a vicious underground bike racing circuit in which participants are allowed and encouraged to cheat and use dirty fighting to win ( a la "Road Rash" ). After Onizuka fled Japan in GTO, I remember it being unclear whether Onizuka was residing in California or Hawaii but, the scenery looked more like Southern California; I'm sure the manga is probably more detailed with that information ( haven't read it ). Even though this is a rather foolhardy thing for Onizuka to do after just escaping from hot water in exile abroad, this is something which actually would not be out of character for him to do. "You're Under Arrest" My Idea For a Spinoff Premise: After leaving the precinct for more intense pursuits, Natsumi decides to give pro-wrestling a try for a little change of pace along the way, before reuniting with her old partner. She joins an all-female wrestling promotion and dons the in-ring gimmick of the "Big Boss Lady" ( <-- if anyone got that reference, please let me know ), wearing her old blue uniform shirt to the ring. A parody of GLOW ( "Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling" ) ensues. Somehow it seems that trousers would be more practical than a skirt inside the squared circle...hmmm. It would certainly look out of place for her to be wearing her flats to the ring...she might as well just be barefoot or in her stockings the whole time than that. A few details about the costume would probably need to be modified to make it look more natural for the setting. It's not that it couldn't be done the other way, I just wouldn't want it to be reduced to mindless fan service though. I welcome feedback. If anyone else has ideas for the aforementioned anime shows or for other additional ones, feel free to share them here. Discuss...
  3. Has anyone watched a great anime that they think could have been better? What are some of your titles that you think could have had a more appropriate conclusion? Welcome to the NHK "Welcome to the NHK" was great by any standard but, I think it could have actually been even better than it was. Had I been the head writer, I would have made it where the tone gradually shifted more toward a suspense thriller direction, where it turned out that there really was a conspiracy to keep down the guy, and that the secret organization was using next generation technology to project illusions ( similar to "Chaos;Head" ) with the aim to gaslight him into thinking that he was only delusional. In the finale, I would have it where it all culminates in a John Carpenter's "They Live" style showdown. Since firearms aren't readily available for civillian purchase in Japan, something would need to be worked out to give the character a fighting chance against his enemies. Maybe have it where he got his toys from the Yakuza or something?
  4. Hello everyone. Today I just wanted to throw in a random review about a show I watched called DearS. It’s not one I’m going to weekly review, and it’s CERTAINLY not (very) popular. I just had so many emotions about it I knew I had to review it. So here we go. Warning: watch this one ALONE!!! Also warning: THIS IS THE MOST CRINGE-WORTHY HENTAI I SWEAR... We’ve all been there. You’re bored, but none of the anime you’re currently watching seem interesting. So, you look for something new. Today, I felt that way, and as I was scrolling through RetroCrush I accidentally clicked on a show. Since I was having a hard time finding anything that sparked my interest, I decided to watch it anyway. And wow, I think this is the exact opposite of what I normally watch. 0~0 The premise: it’s modern times Japan, and it’s a year after a space-ship crashed full of submissive sexy/sex-loving aliens. They’re now part of society, (kind of; there’s only 150 of them on Earth) and we call them DearS. Why capital s? No idea. Anyway, this kid works at a game shop, and he just snuck out one of those Japanese hentai games for his pervy friends. (honestly, how could I have been SO bored I watched the whole episode? I have no idea...) He got a scar on his cheek after the game store owner found out what he was doing and beat him up. One of the friends mentions he heard a DearS is moving into their neighborhood. Game-store-worker boy (I forgot all the names in this, okay?) apparently thinks these DearS‘s are too good to be true. He doesn’t believe that they could be so smart and hot and whatever. Later, after attending class with his creepy, horny teacher, he walks home alone until he spots a girl with a ragged blanket and blue hair huddling in some bushes and shaking like she’s crying. Wow. He walks up to her and he’s like “are you okay? Why are you shaking so much?” She seems just a really shy girl or something, until, after our protagonist bends down to talk to her, she jumps out from the bag fully naked (oh dear lord why did I watch this hentai? Why am I reviewing it?) and then she starts glowing and a tiny bikini with absolutely no coverage pops up on her and then she kisses protagonist boy. He gets all surprised, and then she pulls back to cup his head in her hand. Remember the bandage? She puts her hand right on that place and when she takes it away, the band-aid falls off and *BOOM* the cut disappears. He basically goes “what the frick.” And then he walks away, but she follows him. So he just gives up and takes her to his apartment where he gives her some clothes he has and shows her how the shower works. And then he walks away and goes to bed. When he wakes up, in classic anime style, he thinks it was all a weird dream. He goes back to sleep for about 1 second, to wake up again and realize that the DearS he found is still naked, and is sleeping next to him. He jumps about 4 feet in the air. Then they eat some bread. Honestly I forgot what order stuff happened in, writing this takes way more time than it does to watch a 24 minute episode. But anyway, after a bit of trouble since she can’t speak Japanese, he finds out her name. Here, I googled it. It’s: Ren Ren Ren Nagusaran Rensia Roroonren Nakora. Yup. He thinks it’s pretty stupid, so he just calls her Ren. Then his 6 alarm clocks start going off, and the landlord’s daughter comes upstairs to wake up Takeya Ikuhara (yes I finally remembered his name) like she usually does. He shoves Ren in a closet, but the landlord’s daughter can pretty obviously tell something is off. Anyway, at school he keeps asking the landlord’s daughter stuff about DearS. And that’s about all I remember of this retro hentai horror (at least, the first episode) Because I suck at describing anime, here’s what Fandom has to say: One year prior to the beginning of the story, mankind made its first contact with an alien species, when a malfunctioning alien spacecraft made an impromptu crash-landing in Tokyo Bay. The aliens on board the UFO are human-like and remarkably beautiful, and are soon affectionately nicknamed "DearS" by their human hosts, which means "Dear friends from outer space"; as extraordinarily kind and gentle as they are lovely, the DearS are a slave race in actuality, seeming to thrive as individuals and as a species by making others happy; as they are unable to return home, the small community of DearS attempts to integrate themselves into human society, concealing their status as a slave race from the public due to concern over the fact that humanity does not agree with slavery. The main plot follows the story of Takeya Ikuhara, an average high school student in the fictitious Koharu prefecture, and how his life is turned on its head, due to the appearance of a beautiful and apparently defective DearS he calls "Ren", who, after Takeya saves her life and nurses her back to health and teaching her the ways of the human society, promptly becomes attached to him and moves into the closet of his apartment, declaring herself his slave and him her master. As the story progresses, Takeya finds himself becoming surrounded by several more DearS along with his near-constant companion Ren. Okay, if you want to watch this, (why would you) I’ll stop giving you spoilers. Anyway, hope you “enjoyed” this, see you at the next anime review. Also, sorry if you’re now reaching for some eye-bleach.
  5. Has anyone watched the Scarlet Nexus. Would you say its worth watching also do i need to play the game or can i understand without playing the games.
  6. So what are your thoughts on the latest episode(s) of this series?? WARNING: Contains a crap ton of spoilers. Read at your own discretion.
  7. The finest pro heroes! WARNING: If you have not kept up with MHA the series or manga, don't continue to read ahead. With the symbol of peace retired and still being so awesome, Endeavor takes the number one pro hero spot. Endeavor has gotten lots of screen and manga time, we get a deeper look into his past and current struggles. Endeavor also gives us a different perspective about his character. What are your thoughts on Endeavor from being number 2 to the number 1 pro hero Endeavor is now? My thoughts: When Endeavor use to be the number 2 hero, he came across as strong and stern. Endeavor also came across as the bad guy and horrible father. I didn't like him at all or care for him. To me, he was a dismissive character. When Endeavor took over the number 1 spot, it felt bittersweet to see All Might pass the baton. But the more I got to learn about Endeavor, the more I grew to enjoy his character. At times I found his character to be a goofy yet awkward person. Endeavor has shown growth and that he is very capable of being number one. Look at his system hero network! But the latest episode showed weakness and the feeling of impending doom upon the character. Now that Endeavor has grown on me, I feel MHA wants to teach us a hard lesson about heroes (so I think). The MHA team has done a phenomenal job with character growths and toying with the audience as well as its readers.
  8. I haven't read the manga so no spoilers there please, but I was so shocked over the reveal! The anime really doesn't hold back on what it means to be a carnivor or a herbivor and it's just so sad and emotional and I have no idea what to really feel of what every character is going through! You really do feel for everyone! I wasn't sure if I was allowed spoilers in the first post so I tried to be vague even if this seem to be a spoiler corner for currently airing animes o.o Can you tell I'm new XD?
  9. What do you guys think of Ch 139 in Attack on Titan? I read a lot of varied opinions over the Internet and was interested in knowing what you guys had to say about it. Cheers!
  10. I mean, sure, we can leave the discussion of what's good and bad for another day. However, I'm curious to know why
  11. I don’t watch one episode at a time, I watch the whole season at once. I waited for AOT 4 to complete, downloaded it and was into its complete amazing aura...Eren had eaten Warhammer Titan, Levi just took Beast Titan.. Survey corps were doing great.. And then.... and then Sasha died.... that Gabi i hate i just can’t take it. It feels sad that i wanna talk to someone. Someone who understands..
  12. I suppose spoilers for the newest season apply. First off, I am not talking about Eren doing morally questionable deeds like killing civilians. What I am talking about is his personality change. What happened to him?? He had always been so full of fire! Now seems like a depressed goth kid sitting at Denny's drinking coffee and discussing nihilism. Where is the Eren we know from the series?! A very similar charachter shift happened in another series I kind of liked called Jyu-Oh-Sei (minor spoilers for that series ahead) I mean, compared to Attack on Titan Jyu-Oh-Sei is a pile of crap, but still. I liked it okay for the first half. But that's just it. When there was a time skip in that series the main charachter went from this feisty little Devil into a mopey, moody, lame, non-entity. I am starting to feel similarly about Eren. Is growing up equivalent to losing all assertiveness?
  13. I just finished watching FMAB and I must say...it was one the of the best series I've ever seen...all the plots have been very satisfactorily completed and most of the stuff is very logically explained...the only question that is bothering me is why did Alphonse need to sacrifice his soul to give Edward his arm back? I mean he could've just stopped Father from harming Edward. I get that he was injured and all...but what about the others? All of them were simply standing there doing nothing but screaming at Ed to run away...any one of them could've used simple alchemy to stop Father. What Alphonse did was like a last resort... something that could have easily been avoided if any of the Alchemists would've stepped in between saying they won't let Father harm Edward. Later we see that Ed literally punches Father so that would mean that Father had already become weak. That's all...No hate to this anime or this forum. I'm sure I'm missing something here...I just need someone to point out what. Thanks!
  14. Where my Promised Neverland fans at? Feel free to discuss anything related to the series here, just know that others will be posting spoilers! Did you like the conclusion of the first season? What moment was the most terrifying for you? What surprises were you not expecting? Notice any plot holes? Fell free to answer any or all of these questions. Or none just getting the conversation going
  15. Note: Some of the content like most of the content may contain spoilers, you have been warned. The question that I realized is: In "Darling in the Franxx" in episode 24 when Nana and Hachi were on the hill Hachi mentioned that I tried to add the things to cover up the spoilers but I don't know how.
  16. Ok, just got to episode 24 and as soon as i saw Tomoya and grey hair girl (Cant recall name, im fuming rn) I immediatly got pissed. Im so confused why this episode exists right when Nagisa and Tomoya's relationship begins. I'm so angry and confused that my head is beginning to really hurt now

  18. What are your thoughts on No Game No Life, will there be a season 2?
  19. So, recently there this one epic hand 2 hand battle in Hitori no Shita 3rd season, who's adapted by Big Firebird Cultural Media. and I found it's one of the most promising development of the animation, while 1st had 6.8 rating and 2nd 7.4, it's truly that maybe this 3rd season can be higher than the other 2 seasons. let's take apart from "ah you know, they were changing their studio animation" things. At one point, the studio's still coming from china. So what do you think about their development on taking the animation ? did the progress going well from your point of view ?
  20. In this topic, we'll be talking about the first episode of OreGairu! Now, if you haven't watched OreGairu/My Youth Romantic Comedy is Wrong, As I Expected, then you should. But if you don't want to and just want to learn about it, here's a very simple explanation: Source: https://oregairu.fandom.com/wiki/Yahari_Ore_no_Seishun_Love_Comedy_wa_Machigatteiru_(series) Important events in Episode 1 consists of Hachiman Hikigaya going to a service club against his own will so he can become less of a loner, the characters Yukino Yukinoshita and Yui Yuigahama being introduced, and Yui befriending Hachiman and Yukino. Anyways, discuss! I look forward to hearing what you guy think! PS, OreGairu is on VRV and I think it's on Funimation. Image source: https://www.mobileyouth.org/oregairu-season-3/ Alright, so the network got messed up so it posted the topic three times, and I'm sorry about that! This is the real one! The other two, I'll find a way to delete them. But this topic thread is the real one!
  21. It was a short anime only lasting for 8 min? Or 10. I'm not sure. However the anime description was that it was a love story that started when a woman gave a guy some gloves at the christmas tree? At school that guy has 4 like best friends they have different personalities and romantic fetishes especially one of his friends which like whips in romance and other stuffs. They are in pursuit of their love lifes and wanna help the first guy which doesn't have one. One notable detail was that in the near ending the guy actually kissed the girl but didn't remember because he actually fell asleep then the girl just kept her feelings for the guy and continue loving him without telling it to him. I wanna remember but I kennat. It was a tear-jerking anime for me though because I somewhat related to it hahahahaha. Anyways thank you.
  22. Hello, Recently I have been trying to find the name of an anime that I used to own on VHS since google has been of no help whatsoever I decided it might be best to ask in a place with people who have seen a lot of anime. while I dont exactly remember all the details perfectly as its been (I think) 20ish years the anime had 4 swords people (3 who stayed together 1 who had amnesia) and 1 female warlord in the begining of the movie the amnesic one is in a village not knowing anything about himself other than he knows how to fight and he is tasked to get rid of wasps (or bees its been a long time) he kills all of them except 1 which stings him, later the other 3 find him and try to get him to remember and then the last parts I remember are the female warlord yelling "DIE HOMARU" (im 90% sure the name wasnt homaru and my mind just put that name in instead of what I heard) and then it being revealed that the warlord was a part of the swords person group and something happened that caused her to turn against them...also there might have been magic but honestly I dont remember also although I know im wrong the main character (With amnesia) looked like ryu from street fighter in my memory if anyone knows the anime im talking about please reply and let me know its honestly so annoying trying to find the name of it and not being able to also it isnt berserk I apologize about the long run on sentence
  23. Vinland Saga, a viking anime has begun airing for summer the 2019 season. It's a very compelling anime, judging from the first episode I will enjoy this series a lot. The Synopsis: For a thousand years, the Vikings have made quite a name and reputation for themselves as the strongest families with a thirst for violence. Thorfinn, the son of one of the Vikings' greatest warriors, spends his boyhood in a battlefield enhancing his skills in his adventure to redeem his most-desired revenge after his father was murdered. Here is the OP
  24. So I've been working on a chatbot based off of Nezuko from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. I think she's a fascinating character, and I want to give fans of the anime and manga the chance to talk to her since she doesn't talk too much on her own. Currently, I'm in the training phase so I've been programming her with questions users may or may not ask her. The only problem is I'm only one guy and I'm out of ideas of things to talk to her about, so I'm looking for community input. Keep in mind, she won't just be pre-programmed. She's going to be a mix of programmed responses and machine/deep learning based AI so she will, in essence, have a mind of her own. If you had the opportunity to talk to Nezuko, what would you say to her or ask her? It could be either questions or topics you'd want to discuss with her. Thanks!
  25. For those of you who have seen an anime TV series and the movie that goes along with it, were there any films you liked better than the series itself? Me personally I liked the InuYasha movies over the series itself. Honestly I thought the films had more comedy. The same goes for the Fairy Tale movies. I actually wasn't bored of the movie like I was most of the time with the series.
