  1. I am currently watching Golden Time over on Crunchyroll and Kobayashi's Dragon Child, Trickster, Chaos Child, and Masamune's revenge on FUNimation.
  2. I was more of referring to regular books, since standalone manga is not all that common, but I have no problems with it, so I will allow it.
  3. I just looked it up on Amazon, and the summary and blurbs alone seem to be as irritatingly disgusting as you make it seem to be. People think that anime/manga fans are perverts, but that seemed worse than anything I saw in the manga I have read or anime I seen.
  4. Welcome to the board, Bunk. I hope you enjoy your time here.
  5. I only read the first three volumes. I have been meaning to read volumes 4-6, but because of a huge expenditure last month, I could not get them until now. I have been reviewing the light novels on my blog though, so you can always see where I am at, though I am trying to get only 3-4 volumes at a time
  6. All I have to say is that you are fairly lucky then. I do not have the money to spend on more bookshelves. As for general book recommendations, you could start a thread yourself if you wanted. Also, other than reviewing manga and anime, the former of which I have been doing more often, I have been reviewing so-called normal books, and most of the patrons I have on Patreon are subscribed to the tier that allows them to request me to review a book or manga of their choice, so you can see what I have talked about there.
  7. It might have received good praise from fans, since the sequel ends around the part people thought that the anime should end, but it was not as satisfying to me as the first 25 episodes of the show. There was nothing you needed to apologize for, so everything is okay.

    Narration

Ookami's narrator is obvious. The narrator there just will not let me pick up on details myself, and explains everything. Come on! I want to enjoy the anime. If you watched Black Critic Guy's review of the show, what he did to the narrator in his video is what I want to do with Ookami's narrator. That should answer things fully for you. Some narrators are okay, but I just feel like I can immerse myself better without one.

    Narration

Really depends on the show. For example, the narrator for Ookami really distracts me, but Haruhi's is okay. I prefer little to no narration.
  10. How you do with the space issue? My own bookshelf has almost no room at all.
  11. Your post made me laugh. I definitely needed that after writing up a review just now, though The title I was reviewed was not bad and I need to get it published on my blog. I am not too sure my tastes are refined, since I like some popular titles, but I would definitely be turned off by things that cannot deliver what I want or expect. Still, thanks for the laugh and warm welcome.
  12. I might not be available for a while, since I have a ton of reviews to do this month and I got a batch of seven books to read.

  13. I will not argue there with you. Those are terrible and irritate me too.
  14. I would say writing style, which gives off an interesting voice, good imagery, and having characters I can actually connect with. Stories can have awesome worlds and characters that act in believable and realistic ways, but I cannot immerse myself if I cannot feel those same feelings. It also depends on what kind of story it is.
  15. What was/were the worse book or books you have read? For me, there are two, which are The Whistler, which was the first title somebody requested me to review when I got started on Patreon, and The Book Thief, which I linked to in the link I have listed in this post. I am not going to go over why I hated either one, since my thoughts have already been expressed in my reviews, but I would like it if you all would give your reasons, or if you wrote a review of it that still presents your present thoughts of it, you can link to them like I did.
  16. Basics of the basics are that all you need to do is create a template and some files with content and the generators will put them all together as HTML files after running a command. Think of it like WordPress, but for files on your computer.
  17. I live in west coast of US in one of places that are considered gambling meccas of the world, and no, the Vegas strip is not in Vegas it is in a place called Paradise, Nevada (not too sure what the equivalent of townships are out there in the world). All I can say is that the country is nice, though we have way too many movies that have more eye candy than story and we also have problems with greed and apathy.
  18. I prefer ebooks. As nice as print books may be, space is kind of limited here and I can read ebooks anywhere without worrying about the weight. , and, other than anime and manga, books are the only other things I have up on Patreon that people can request me to review.
  19. There seems to be a lot of threads in the tech forums, so I thought I would make one of my own, since my interest in tech is as high up as anime. What do you guys think of static site generators? For the longest time, I liked creating websites by hand, but it gets kind of annoying when you have hundreds of pages or reviews to manage, and I find SSGs better since it speeds up my workflow. Only problem though is that only those running on Python or Node.js, or equivalent, are easily usable on more than just the Mac/BSD/Linux environment.
  20. Welcome to the board. This is definitely a great place to be, since there are not any of those annoying post that are found in a G+ community I belong to.
  21. I use virtual machines for various reasons. I have Ubuntu, so I can check what a website looks like on Linux or if I need to utilize something that I can get done quicker with a Unix CLI (e.g. creating and extracting tar archives). Debian is my go to when I need a dev server, and I have a macOS VM because I need multiple versions of iTunes and I have a drive that Windows 10 will not read.
  22. I usually watch on a tablet. I subscribe to two different services and one of them works better on iPad than on Roku.
  23. Welcome, geddoe. DBZ was the first anime I saw too, though I did not know what anime was exactly at the time. Comedy can be a hit or miss with me, but a couple of my favorite anime are comedic, so I can enjoy a good laugh from time to time. Are you currently watching Super?
  24. I mainly use Edge to read PDFs and do not use anything else, but I do have access to Acrobat DC if I need more functionality.

    Optical drives

My computer does not have an optical drive, but I got an external Blu Ray drive, so that I can watch titles not available on iTunes, yet want to keep around, or when it is necessary to boot from a disc.
