mechaBD
Just finished watching episode 4. I will say at least a couple of things happened in this episode. Although I knew Manato was going to die I did like him as a character. Everyone got new skills as well. It will interesting to see how the team does with out Manato next week. Optic
To be honest, this is what Danmachi should have been. Well after the fourth episode, with almost no change in pacing, I'm going to have to strongly disagree with you here. This title is SO SLOW and boring! All the characters just seem so dull with little chemistry with each other. I think it's because of: No serious interaction with other people yet besides the shopkeepers and their guild skill trainers. No real sense of danger - but now thinking about it this was probably due to Manato being able to heal everyone's injuries. I'm also getting tired of what seems to be a fan service shot of Yume's bottom every episode. For a title trying to be serious, it's distracting: Despite my comments above, I will keep watching it because: I'm hoping they'll find a way to remember all their former memories or return to their original world. I'm waiting for the tipping climax moment where the pacing picks up rapidly. Also, I felt nothing when Manato died. I feel NOTHING for the characters at this point. I know it's wrong to compare this with Danmachi (Dungeon), as that had comedy in it whereas Grimgar doesn't. But there were so many times I actually felt something for Hestia and Bell Cranel when they both encountered misfortune, or got in dangerous situations. With Manato gone though, I'm sure the sense of danger and survival will pick up, or maybe they'll start showing some interactions with other adventurers in this world.
