I not sure if Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Joe, TK, Kari, Davis, Yolei and Cody are still live Odaiba in Japan or move out outside Odaiba or outside Japan with their kids, wife and husband.

Hi guys, I just moved this topic to the Anime District section of the forums since I felt this was more of an anime related topic than an Other Entertainment topic. What a great topic though. It has been a while since I have watched Digimon 02 but the thing I liked the most about the season was seeing all the other Digidestined from all over the world. I remember as I kid I really liked Catherine Deneuve the French girl! I thought her sense of style was great.

 

Anyway I have no idea where all the kids lived but its an interesting idea and I wonder if anyone knows the answers. Plus weird to think that when I was ten, it seemed like 2027 was ages away haha its getting closer now though and I wonder what all of us members will be like in 2027.

I do love that Ken and Yolei also ended up together! Ken was one of my favourite characters. How he has changed from a bad guy to a good guy and tried to fix everything he had done wrong.

In the English dub, Kari and TK didn't get married and I am quite sure they didn't in the Japanese version either. Maybe the Dutch version was different? Sora and Matt got together then divorced - I found it quite strange that they got together instead of Tai and Sora! Yes, Yolei and Ken were a good couple. She had such a big crush on him so for them to end up together was beautiful!

My opinion - probably because most of the time Matt was arguing with Tai over leadership issues whilst at the same time he also had to worry about TK. So a lot was on his mind.

 

I do feel though Mimi and Sora didn't have as much screen time than Tai and Matt..

 

It's interesting you interpret it as a possible crush between Matt and Mimi.

Matt and Mimi is so random. Why would he have a crush on her? I always liked the sound of Joe and Mimi being together it was obviously Joe liked her but I am not sure if Mimi liked Joe maybe he was too nerdy for her.

Tai and Sora

Tai and Sora are both good friends over the course of the first season, usually working together to help the other DigiDestined in times of need. Out of all of the digidestined, it is clear that they know each other the best. In the beginning of Adventure, Sora is seen concerned over Tai's bullheadedness, arguing with him when she feels he is being too reckless. As Tai matures as a leader, Sora actively supports his decisions and becomes someone that Tai relies on both for opinions and to take care of matters for the Digidestined.

Sora clearly values Tai's opinions. In the second part of Digimon: The Movie [Japanese: Our War Game], Sora becomes quite upset when she receives a hair clip from Tai for her birthday. She feels that Tai did not like her hat or hair, and was perhaps suggesting so. During this part of the film, she is seen looking at her hair, or holding the hair clip grudgingly in her hand, thinking to herself. Sora refuses to answer Tai's phone calls in which he is trying to say sorry. However, she finally accepts his apology when she reads an email from him, and Sora ends up wearing the hairclip and apologizing to him for becoming upset (Japanese version). Although Sora and Tai are slightly detached in Digimon Adventure 02, the two still remain close friends, as each still value one another.

When Sora is nervous about making her first confession to Matt, she initially is unable to do it, but eventually finds herself more confident after persuasion from Tai. In the English version, it is suggested that Tai had been intending to ask Sora out to Matt's concert in this scene.

 

Matt and Sora

Sora and Matt build a mature relationship over Adventure and come to form a unique bond. They are understanding and supportive of one another due to battling and overcoming similar challenges. When Sora is upset about her Crest not glowing, Matt takes an understanding approach -- he too questions the meaning of his Crest. When Matt chooses to leave the group, Sora says she believes in him and promises to look after T.K. while he's gone. When Sora is drawn into the Dark Cave, Yamato is able to pull her out of it (with the help of Joe) because he too had been recently saved from the Dark Cave by Gabumon.

In 02 Sora confesses to Matt that she likes him in the Christmas episode. She bakes him homemade cookies, a symbol of her affections. That same night when evil Digimons attack Matt's concert, Matt quickly protects her from falling rocks. Afterwards they start dating.

In the last Digimon Adventure movie 'Diaboramon Strikes Back', Yamato's character profile states they are boyfriend and girlfriend. A picture of them together is spreading around the internet -- Diaboramon's message to the Digidestines that he has return.

In the Drama CD 'Michi e no Armor Shinka', Sora plans to buy Matt Honmei Choco for Valentines Day, a special and more expensive type of chocolate given to significant others. Later Matt ends up proclaiming his love for Sora, however Sora is more concerned about why he is tap dancing.

The epilogue, as well as confirmation from Toei, reveals that the two eventually marry and have two children. Their daughter looks like Yamato while their son looks like Sora.

 

Izzy and Sora

Sora is one of the first people to acknowledge Izzy's hobby and skills rather than make fun of him, and encourages him to use his talents.

 

Joe and Sora

Sora respects Joe as an upperclassman and gives him the respect she believes he deserves, something evident during the Devimon arc as she tries to make him leader not only to cheer him up (emphasized in the English dub) but also because he is older than her and in a higher grade, which is emphasized in Japan (implied in the original Japanese).

 

T.K. and Sora

If Tai or Matt is the paternal or older-brotherly figure, Sora is the maternal or older-sisterly figure. In Adventure, Sora tries to nurture T.K. and gives him the care and affection he needs, especially when Tai or Matt is not around. However, she is willing to give the responsibility when she feels T.K. would be in better hands. Ultimately Sora minds for T.K.'s well-being, demonstrating so when she warns Agumon about the memory-loss mushrooms, indirectly leading to T.K. being saved from what DemiDevimon is planning. She does, however, see potential in T.K. for taking charge, such as during the Piedmon incident when she preferred to hold Piedmon off and sacrifice herself rather than slow T.K. down.

In 02, Sora lets T.K. take responsibility for himself, although she still provides advice.

 

Davis and Sora

Sora laughs at Davis's antics and comments that he is much like Tai; she easily accepts Davis as the leader of the new DigiDestined and is always ready to provide advice.

 

Cody and Sora

Sora respects Cody's opinions and does what she can to help Cody work with the others in his steadfast nature.

 

Ken and Sora

While initially harsh on Ken due to his past as the Digimon Emperor, Sora warms up to Ken and assists him in getting over his scars.

Mimi is on great terms with Tai, she accepts him as the Digidestined's leader because she sees a goodness in his heart. When he mistakenly forces Agumon to dark digivolve to SkullGreymon, she always does her best to cheer him up.[citation needed]

Matt and Mimi

It is common to see them together when they are divided into groups, as in the factory where Andromon was or when they go to rescue Datamon, but they do not exchange words directly, even when Matt is the one who defends Mimi's feelings after they see Whamon die.[citation needed]

Four years later, they seem somewhat closer, as Matt mentions at one point in the English Dub that he's been talking to Mimi over the phone from America. In the original version they do not interact.

 

Izzy and Mimi

Mimi finds it hard to deal with Izzy's tedious method of analyzing things and eventually turns out to be right in her own accord. She eventually turns out polite towards him.

In the manhua, when Mimi and Izzy are trapped in some ancient ruins, Mimi runs off crying about how Izzy likes his computer more than her.

Also, while asleep, Izzy dreams about Mimi: "Sure Mimi, I'll hold your hand."

According to the novels, she was Izzy's classmate prior to the series; when Mimi's friends were making fun of Izzy for carrying around a laptop during summer camp, Mimi did not join in simply because she "didn't find any reason to".

 

Joe and Mimi

According to the novels, Joe was Mimi's summer camp counselor. She notes that his face is stiff and decides he is not a very reliable leader (something later disproved harshly to her).

Mimi treats Joe as if he is still her camp counselor and has a large dependency on him for much of her problems; she expects him to do his job like he should.

Later in the series, as Mimi seriously questions her duty as a DigiDestined and leaves the group, Joe decides to stay with her and protect her, something she hadn't expected from him. She also learns that while Joe is no longer her counselor, he has always felt a duty to take care of her even when she thought he was an annoyance, despite him proving to her later in the series that he was and is a capable leader.

While the Tachikawa were in vacation on the Hawaii, Joe left a heart-shaped gift at Mimi's house. Digimon: The Movie

 

T.K. and Mimi

Mimi and T.K. are close in the first part of Digimon, most likely to be minors from the group, before the appearance of Kari. They often are seen talking, sharing things, playing and laughing together. Four years later, it can be seen that they are still good friends.

Tai and Kari

Tai is Kari's older brother and Kari thus has a huge dependency on him. She sees him as infallible, and finds it hard to believe her brother could possibly do anything wrong for anyone; thus, she considers him blameless when he accidentally causes her to get pneumonia.

This dependency has not subsided in 02, something T.K. scolds her for; in the incidents with the Dark Ocean she is unable to function without Tai's help His Master's Voice. Eventually she obtains independence and becomes a stronger individual.

 

Matt and Kari

Whenever Tai is absent, Kari looks up to Matt as the missing-older brother figure.

 

Izzy and Kari

Though certainly not to the extent of Tai, Izzy and the other DigiDestined were rather protective of Kari when she first step foot in the Digital World. Eventually, everyone was able to let loose after Kari repeatedly proved her own capabilities. Izzy has, on occasion however, taken it upon himself to personally protect and guard Kari. Kari greatly admires Izzy for his Knowledge and resilience. She knows that if ever a problem occurs, Izzy will eventually solve it.

Three years later, they were partnered to contact the Digidestined in Hong Kong. Digimon World Tour, Pt. 1

 

Joe and Kari

When Kari feels the team is at ends, she looks to Joe for stability. She views him as the moral center of the team and knows without him the group would have disbanded. She also understands that Joe doesn't take responsibility because he has to, but because he feels he has to. And that her safety, along with the other six, are all up to him.

 

T.K. and Kari

During Adventure, Kari and T.K. begin to work as their own microcosm-type team, oblivious to several of the problems of the rest of the group.

In Adventure 02 Kari once again hangs around (and often teams up with) T.K. during several occasions. She also uses him sometimes as a source of experience to discuss with, as the two have dealt with Digimon far longer than the others. In the "Present Day" segment of Digimon: The Movie, Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Landing!!/Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals, she said that part of the reason she brought TK with her to visit Mimi was to make Davis jealous.

Three years later, both she and T.K. do admit they care a lot about each other and go out of their way to protect one another.[citation needed]

In Kari's Digimon Girls Festival song "Reflection", the person Kari addresses is most likely T.K., as he fits all of her descriptions. In the song, Kari acknowledges that he has been protecting her and has known her for very long, since their youth. She describes their relationship as "too cute to be called romance".

Kari is aware that Davis has a crush on her, and sometimes exploits that to get him to behave. However, she only sees him as a friend.

Yolei exhibits a crush on Ken when she sees him as a genius boy, but eventually becomes disgusted by him when she finds he is the Digimon Emperor.

After Ken finds his normal self again, Yolei is initially nervous to trust him, especially when the DigiDestined watch him kill Control Spire Digimon and believe he is killing normal Digimon. However, once she realizes what he is doing, she trusts him and accepts him as a member of the team, eventually becoming supportive of him as well as reviving her crush on him.

Just finished re-watching Adventure, if there were more hours in the day, I'd be starting 02 right now, although in some sense, it's a good thing there isn't, because gives me an opportunity to squeeze in Our War Game, before starting 02 !

 

Don't you think Taichi in 2027 looks quite similar to his father, same goes for Sora and her mother (the hair's different, but her face is quite similar), Jou looks quite like his brother, Shin (as not re-watched 02 yet, can't say about Shuu, although should also re-watch -tri-, so I can compare him against his parents), not sure about Hikari going off the image here, so will have to wait until I get to the Epilogue!

 

Wait, Mimi married Michael? When did that happen? By that, I don't mean the marriage! Sure her son does look a bit like Michael, but did the romance happen in the audio drama? Or have I forgotten a bit of 02? Wouldn't surprise me, as I just found out re-watching Adventure, I pretty much completely forgot the plot after episode 39!!

 

[spoiler=Slightly off original topic of thread, but still on Adventure/02 ]As I said, I almost completely forgot about the Dark Masters and Apocalymon, I thought they beat Vamdemon, the end! Although I still remembered about Pinochimon, MetalEtamon and some of the events featuring Pielmon, but not Pielmon, so I associated those events with Pinochimon, and Pinochimon as being a "subordtinate" of Vamdemon!

 

Remembering this, I'm now trying to figure how all the villains fit together; first there's Devimon, who I believed to be a "subordinate" of Vamdemon, then there's Etemon, who I also believed to be a "subordinate" of Vamdemon, next there's Vamdemon, who I believed was the "big bad", which was wrong, was he originally a Dark Master who went "rogue"?

 

I considered that the Dark Masters might have arose in Vamdemon's absence, but in the flashback it's shown that they were present before the series! Think I'm going to have to read into it more!

 

Re-watching Adventure, I was noting the different heights of the characters, such as easily observed fact that Mimi is taller than Koushiro, even though they're the same age, that said, I also noticed that Mimi's friends Micchan and Tako are of similar height -I am aware of the usual reason-, however I also noticed in some (all?) scenes Mimi is taller than Lilymon!!

 

Still, size of Digimon appears to be taken with a pinch of salt, as Digimon can be smaller or larger in different series, as with Lilamon in Savers, and Xros Wars, however can also happen in same canon, as Angewomon appears to be larger in Revenge of Diaboromon, than she is in Adventure!

 

Actually Hikari is another, in some (all?) scenes, she seems to be taller than Takeru, looking at her age in Adventure, could be for same reason as Mimi! Was trying to figure out if Sora was also taller than Taichi, in some scenes it looked like she was, but only by an inch or so!

 

I don't know whether Sora has a "hard" hat, or a "soft" hat on, or she wears two very similar hats, I mean in the Digital World, it appears very rigid, as Jou uses it as a drum to defeat Bakemon, but in the real world, it's soft, as evident when her mother returns it to her!

 

The fact that only Agumon and Gabumon's evolutions to Perfect and Ultimate are computer generated kinda annoys me, although it's the same in most of the other series; 02 animated Stingmon and XV-mon jogress only, Tamers misses out all of Renamon's evolutions, and Savers doesn't animate Lilamon to Rosemon, or Yatagaramon to Ravmon! Some how, the anime animated evolutions don't look right when matched against the computer generated ones!

 

Although the evolution sequence in -tri- is a little basic, it seems everyone is treated the same, to a kinda cell shading look animation!

 

You know after re-watching Adventure, and being reminded about bits of plot I'd forgotten, there's something I'd like to see; the adventure of the original chosen children, the ones that first saved the Digital World from Apocalymon!

 

 

EDIT: On the subject of 02, I have to wonder why Takeru is wearing one of Sora's old t-shirts ! Well, not really, it just has the same pattern and colour scheme of the t-shirt Sora was wearing in the first Digimon movie (first part of the amalgam dub movie)!

@senshikoi We don't know who any of the kids married outside of Ken/Miyako and Yamato/Sora. It's just speculation. It's just like those who claimed that Takeru really did marry Hikari and that the only reason they weren't shown together was because he was on his way there to meet up with them.
