Guilty Crown just took my preference as most favourite anime school uniform now. Elite looking, but still looks elegant without looking overly pretentious:

The old Donkey Kong Country platform SNES games were really fun, great music and definitely had great graphics at the time even when compared to Sega games which had much better processing power I fondly remember... Not sure if the GBA version had the mine-cart levels, those jumps were notoriously difficult!

You got me curious so I looked it up and Akame looks like a very interesting character. Added to my to watch list. I'm currently watching two older titles: Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai - Rikka very funny in a cringeworthy way. Suisei no Gargantia (very interesting, a little bit like Planet of the Apes where an advanced newcomer comes into a more primitive world and mingles with the inhabitants). And watching these titles as they air: Sword Art Online II PSYCHO-PASS 2 Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works

One of the places I visited during my Japan trip earlier this year was Toyosato Elementary School. This of course is the school based on the K-ON! anime TV series. It's pretty cool. The rooms are filled with lots of K-ON related merchandise that seem to be have been contributed by various fans. Live concerts are also played at the auditorium by a group called fuwa-fuwa-seven. This is the front entrance. The iconic stairs with the tortoise and hare ornaments. The Light Music Club's table with cake and tea! The green fan... that Ritsu famously broke. K-ON completed jigsaw puzzles framed. Fuwafuwa-seven's poster advertising their next live concert. A live concert was playing! Passionate fans here. More fan merchandise. Lots of visitor message cards on display here. Hatsune Miku??! Fan made "Happy Birthday" mosaic! There's more stuff upstairs. Oh and Yui and Azu-nyan wall scroll on the side there. Large cardboard cutouts of the group which are great to pose with. Fan made drawing with lots of messages... Another fan made drawing, this one is pretty cool too! Shelves and shelves of manga to read. Toyosato related merchandise available for sale. Various baked goods and biscuits also for sale. Azu-nyan endorsed melonpan also available. Overall, Toyosato is a little out of the way, but worth it if you're a K-ON fan and happen to be in Japan.

During my visit in Japan I noticed a few interesting anime car decals, took some photos. Clannad Little Busters Hinanawi Tenshi Project They're really good! Anyone else seen any others?

McDonalds Australia is doing the monopoly promotion again. Noticed you can get them on Medium soft drinks now. Too bad I mostly get McCafe coffee though with my meals.

Have you tried different flavours of Coke? Vanilla coke is my all time favourite.

I bought these three from the same shop! Attack on Titan, Strike Witches and Girls und Panzer. A bit pricey at $19-$20 each though, so unlike your bargain these were quite hefty.

Updates: SAO II episode guide updated to Episode 11. Getting there. SAO II OP1 and SAO II OP2 added. So with episode 15 now aired, we're now into a new arc, back into Alfheim Online with the old crew + Sinon. As with the first series, there seems to be less tension now but it's great to be back with the old crew again. Looking forward to seeing more of this Excalibur quest line...

Anyone seen this old classic, Shakugan no Shana? I finished watching it, along with Shakugan no Shana Second and Shakugan no Shana Final not long ago and it was an interesting experience.. started off as a typical supernatural action/adventure. A bit of love triangle between Shana, Kazumi Yoshida and Sakai Yuji. Of course the highlight is on Shana. She's mostly an angry tsundere badass loli with a katana during combat: Always amusing seeing Shana enjoy her melonpan: By the end it was convoluted with the huge scale it tried to potray amongst all the new characters they introduced. But it was a heart warming one as the characters do develop throughout all three seasons. @chiefyamaki

Just noting that I've had some absent periods from the forums. Since the revamp though, I'm back and am able to be fully committed again.

I feel overall a character's thoughts are better conveyed in manga, but an anime of course is more immersive with its mesmerising animation and soundtrack. Yet... characters are what make or break these titles. I find the pacing is better in manga as more minor characters do get featured whereas with most anime, screen time is limited for many characters. Unless it's an ongoing series or a title with multiple seasons, usually a handful of characters will get most of the spotlight. What are your thoughts on manga vs anime in general?
