Anyone still remember Sagan's "Cosmos" series?

This has the potential to be interesting <fingers crossed>
Cool!
I still think someone should run with my idea of doing The Silmarillion as an anime series too though.

I don’t exactly hide it but if it doesn’t come up then I don’t go out of my way to turn the topic in that direction either. Same with books, space, programming, computer hardware, games, etc.
Besides which I’m not a big conversationalist in the first place. If someone asks me directly about some topic that I’m interested in then they’d better be prepared for an earful, but otherwise my side of the conversation usually consists mostly of monosyllables.

Valve (might be) making a Switch-like "SteamPal" portable gaming console...

I’d second the MAL suggestion. (https://myanimelist.net/) Go there, find the page there for an anime that you like, scroll down to the section of the page where it recommends similar shows, watch some of those, then come back here and talk about it/them. Pretty simple really.

On a BG kick again at work tonight. Possibly just me but I think it would be great to see a Silmarillion trilogy with BG doing the soundtrack.
Actually - as long as I’m wishing - let’s make that an anime series. I think that format would fit the source material better anyway. With maybe Hakusensha producing. They did a decent job with the original Berserk after all.

Anyone heard anything interesting from computex this year? I watched the keynotes but.. Frankly Intel’s put me to sleep. (What were they even talking about?) The more interesting bits of AMD’s and nvidia’s keynotes I just couldn’t get too excited about either. I mean, who needs announcements of more unobtainable products? Did I miss something? Maybe there will be some more interesting products announced later this week?

I had to shut down my steam client because it kept telling me about all these special deals on games that I want to buy but will likely never get to play.

actually, technically, a good while longer, since i vaguely recall sitting through an episode of ROBOTECH as a very young boy around what must have been sometime in 1986 or so.
a nephew gave me his old 1985 REVELL ROBOTECH CHANGERS VEXAR transformable model (U.S. market reboxing of 1983 IMAI MACROSS VF-1S Focker 1/72 VARIABLE TYPE)
around 1988/1989 or so, and then i got a taste of Mecha Anime tropes at a more readily-impressionable age around 1991,
thanks to the Mecha action-platfomer game "ASSAULT SUIT LEYNOS" (TARGET EARTH in the U.S.) on the SEGA GENESIS games console.
my Anime fandom truly began to consciously coalesce around 1995, when my dad bought me an old IMAI MACROSS 1/100 VF-1J Ichijo GERWALK mode model kit,
and PLAYMATES toy company reissued the old original MATCHBOX-made ROBOTECH Mecha toys under their "EXO-SQUAD" line.
around that time, i discovered SUNCOAST VIDEO at the mall, and their Anime selection. first i concentrated on ROBOTECH, -via the dual-episode FHE VHS cassette volumes-
found VIZ MEDIA's ANIMERICA Anime magazine, and began picking up issues often as i could,
and then i discovered MANGA VIDEO's MACROSS II and MACROSS PLUS movie compilation releases, Pure, uncut MACROSS, for the first time.
from there, i began to branch out from Mecha-themed anime, with series such as Galaxy Fraulein Yuna and Tenchi Muyo!
and then the early-21st-century and the DVD Anime boom hit, and i was well and truly off to the Anime Races.
i'm about as hardcore today as i've ever been, and, thanks to the internet, i now have the kind of Mecha and Character-themed merchandise
that i would have killed for as a young teen, two-plus decades ago...
I've also been into anime for quite a while. I really got into it in HS due to a friend who got into voice-acting (and eventually went pro) but seeing titles like Chobits, Mahoromatic, Robotech, and Clannad on your shelf brings back memories. I was actually into anime even before HS, though at the time I was young and didn't really make the distinction between "cartoons" and anime. I graduated HS in '82 so... yeah, it's been a while for me as well.

Just finished S3 of DanMachi. Not bad but not great. Really disliked the sudden "and then everything went back to normal" ending. If they were going to do that I'd have been fine with them stopping after S2.

Romance isn't really my genre (I'm more the SF type) so I'm probably missing quite a few but given your prefs you might want to try something like Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji or Ai Yori Aoshi. If you like the former then you might also try Itazura na Kiss.
As a bonus I'll also throw in Lovely Complex.
hth.,.

Mm. No, I'm referring to a pink sauce.
It did have a pink(ish) tinge. I’m guessing at the makeup but it tasted like mayo, ketchup (tomato paste?), garlic, and maybe onion and/or couple other spices.
