  1. I take it this is exactly what "Junk Food Anime" is supposed to mean. And I'm not gonna lie, what I have seen on that list fits pretty well. Meaning it is essentially comparable to popcorn flicks you're not supposed to think so hard about and just enjoy as a time killer and such.
  2. Plenty of people on another site seem to be in agreement with my thought that Angel Beats! needed to be longer anyway, but to just flesh the thing out a little more, give some characters time to actually develop (ex. Yusa. Though it seems that's happening in Heaven's Door anyway, and by extension Track Zero, the thing that that manga is being adapted from) Aria The Scarlet Ammo needs a sequel and not just an adaption of a spin-off, which reminds me of what I said before, and how we also pretty much need Accel World too. Yumekui Merry needs a complete reboot. Not to say the series was bad... it was just a bit underwhelming compared to when the manga got to that point, and then proceeded to go in a completely different direction. Obvious sequel hooks I've seen that need to be fulfilled: Is This a Zombie? Of The Dead Oda Nobuna no Yabou At this point Dog Days'' may end up doing the same thing the previous 2 seasons did. I know I should wait before saying but... I'm still gonna want a 4th season regardless of whether that happens or not Others: A Certain Magical Index A Certain Scientific Railgun The Devil is a Part-Timer! Hayate the Combat Butler! (can we please get a more orderly adaption and actually introduce A-tan?) Hyouka (there is another volume left to adapt. Make it a sequel movie, or just a 1 cour season that used some good original material you guys are known for) I'm inevitably going to think JoJo's Bizarre Adventure needs one when this season is over, it's JoJo. Montly Girl's Nozaki-kun No Game No Life Probably more I just don't want to say, my post is already longer than any others as it is
  3. I do have some, for instance: Accel World / Dural: Magisa Garden: If a new female protag spin-off in Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA could get adapted (by the way, that's one that needs an actual sequel, so maybe I'll post in that thread after), then I hope this certainly could. AKB49 - The Rules Against Love: Nothing against Mecha, light saber mics and underground concerts performed across the galaxy, but even if it's a gender bender, it's still a more grounded attempt at AKB in anime & manga. Cahe Tantei-bu (didn't use English name b/c Cahe): It could be really fun, I just hope they do well on adapting the designs, after all, the author did previously get an adaption done. Love & Lies: Interesting concept, apparently this is already one of if not the most popular title on MangaBox, so I can certainly hope.
  4. Personally, the only one I can really remember watching at least 3 times would be Cardcaptor Sakura, and the last time was subbed, despite it's length. And I would also just say the anime of Key's works, having almost completely rewatched Air and Clannad, watched the earlier Kanon, and am soon going to rewatch Kanon 2006 and Little Busters!. I've watched the Sunohara Siblings arc and random comedic moments more than just that, and I'd know I wouldn't have trouble on more multiple rewatches of Clannad for that reason.
  5. At this point, the main reason I use MAL is mostly because I see no extreme equivalent to the recommendation section of MALgraph, because I can see specifically all the anime I didn't watch that is related to anime that I did watch, all on 1 page.
  6. For me, I probably laughed the hardest from Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, D-Frag!, Daily Lives of High school Boys, and probably Yuru Yuri, so yeah, I'd definitely recommend them.

    Manga vs Anime

Chances are it all comes down to whether an anime is actually adapted from a manga or not. It's practically the opposite when it comes to original anime that get manga adaptions, and it's all fairly up in the air when it comes to anime AND manga adaptions from other sources, but that much is probably obvious. But I do think when it is adapted from a manga, sometimes too much detail is cut when adapting and sometimes not that much, so it can turn out possibly better with the addition of things only anime can do, full color, OST, voices, op & ed themes, and most obvious of all, animation. In the end I think that last one's the main drawing point and why so far I've just mostly always gravitated toward anime myself. As Optic put it, it is definitely more immersive.
  8. Suki, Dakara Suki, I've been in a bit of a Clamp mood, read quite a bit of them recently, but before I came here.
  9. [spoiler=Episode 18]While it is actually doing more decently than some other anime in regards to making it seem like there may actually be options, I keep getting the feeling that they're still obviously going for the Kaori route. Now while I said these girls were all pretty close in likability for me, she would actually be the close but lesser character for me, as she has actually been a little annoying sometimes.
  10. [spoiler=Episode 6]Yeah, I actually just don't like Utaha. Really think they should hurry up and introduce Michiru~
  11. Yep, I can see the Abyssals are designed to be monstrous looking in certain ways and I don't like monsters, must be why I can't care for their designs. It's probably for the best that they're like this. Some people can have fun their way, I can just root against them. They should introduce even more of the twintail ships that they have. *drools*
  12. Right now I can only think of 2 other anime with similar premises: Problem Children are Coming From Another World, Aren't They?: Less fan service, but also lackluster in just about everything else. Was fun enough though, I guess. No Game No Life: What you're looking for comes into play later on, but is talked about a lot earlier, too. Only problem is it has a similar level of fan service.
  13. My brother got the Minish Cap one time thinking he wouldn't get to play it, but while it was nice... the plot was meaningful to the fact that... it was pretty minuscule even to this one, so I definitely plan to read Four Swords if it's the best. But since the two are connected and all, will get a start on Oracle of Ages before sleep at least.
  14. The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons. I still haven't finished any Zelda game but these manga are pretty neat. Kinda weird it says "Rated A for all ages" though... it shows Link's baby thingie, blood from a sword cut, and Link kinda groping Maple's chest while holding her. That's no way to hold a girl. I mean, of course those things aren't extreme, but lol.
  15. This and the comments here have made me aware how much I can actually love slow anime if it doesn't have action. This, Hyouka, Aikatsu as well to an extent, I am really digging this. Amazing music. From the get go I had a feeling Watari and Tsubaki would be more important later on, Tsubaki especially, as Watari is more or less there for comfort. Would still feel a bit... lonelier without the guy, I do wonder if that would have made it turn out better... but now that it's the way it is, I couldn't say I'd have rathered he not be there. Anyway, I don't have strong feelings one way or the other when it comes to who should be with who, I'm having too similar a level of liking of say Kaori, Tsubaki and Nagi to say. So in this case it seems like I'd be more than fine with any way the story decides to go.
  16. I can feel the parody in that one, man it was pretty enjoyable. But... I didn't really expect this kind of realism in an anime. While it is a fun ride is isn't really making much of an impact since it's mostly just as cliche as what they're taking jabs at, even if purposefully. It just isn't done that well to me.
  17. I personally think this is a really good show and almost no episode was any worse than others, they really shine in different things. The approach of politics, economics and the like as well as having more of the game mechanics and stuff explained in greater detail always put it far above SAO and such for me (so much so that when I had to limit my follows, I didn't even think about it, this is the game anime that I want to stick with. Just thought this kinda thing was more unique and soooooo interesting, placing less emphasis on the action, considering I'm not that into action). I don't really care whether things should have been explained sooner or not when for me they always bring something good to the table, and every so often we always get a really fun episode. I loved waking up Saturday mornings and for the longest time the first season was the only thing that really was a Saturday morning cartoon for me. Same thing worked for some of this season, but I don't really get the time to do that. [spoiler=Episode 19]I didn't get the sense that this episode was bad execution, personally. It just all caught up with them and they didn't have their minds on the actual threat. I know, that's a bad thing as people but for the show... I definitely think Touya was justified in slowing things down, at the very least. Hold the same sentiments about Rudy being awesome.
  18. [spoiler=Episode 6]This episode really did reek of filler, being completely honest after the few hundred anime I've already seen. The way it was structured, the way it was serious to the side characters who took the spotlight for one ep when it really was far from serious, all that stuff. It was nice and laid back, but I'm sure things will get better again. I'd like to share some random story about something that's still happening on another site but not to the same extreme as when it started. Members are able to buy custom user groups and some of them completely changed their profiles to Abyssel ships. Now, I really don't care for their designs and because of them the fights are being more boring than they could be (that's the way I personally see it), but I don't really mind what these members are doing apart from some of them using an annoyingly spaced out font.
  19. No Death Parade? At first I found it intriguing that they took the short thing and turned it into a full series but this is just way better. Some real emotion and as of [spoiler=The latest episode, ep 6]it really, truly showed that you can die from just about anything... that's depressing... but right at the end there it was played for laughs with Mayu's realization. Also, best episode yet soley due to the fact that idols.
  20. If it's part of a series I'm invested in, chances are I'll like it anyway. If it isn't part of a series I'm invested in, but it's still shorter and I'm watching it, chances are I'll like it anyway. I'm just that kind of person. The one off comedic Bleach fillers in particular were pretty enjoyable to me, but fillers can never be inserted into that series well enough to make sense time-wise, so... Filler arcs are probably less enjoyable because we've already had our breather, and it feels like they're trying way too hard for there to be enough material, but even if only a little, I mostly enjoyed them, so yeah, I definitely watch them anyway.
  21. I'm not sure if I can exactly pinpoint here an exact favorite when it comes to older series, but I wasn't young all that long ago comparatively so it seems like 1997 is as old is it can go for what anime I've watched (and I still consider that reeeaally old somehow), and I haven't really been as interested in pursuing them as newer stuff. But I can actually say that I have, and still do, truly like Pokemon (1997) and Yu-Gi-Oh! (Duel Monsters 2000), for instance, and never truly grew out of them as I still enjoy what they put out now (more so Yu-Gi-Oh!, though) More recently, it seems like only ones I liked that were even somewhat old that I really did come to love, included a rewatch, but this time subbed of Cardcaptor Sakura (1998), the other was my first experience with the anime of Angelic Layer (2001). It's weird because it's CLAMP for both of them. Not all their works have been hits for me but the other anime that came from them I watched sure were (Tsubasa & xxxHolic).
  22. If visual novels count, well, I'm going all out with Muv Luv today, but there'll definitely be some Hyrule Warriors in there.
  23. I'd be faster to just show the images, as I'm using a slideshow. One obviously doesn't fit, but I like it. It probably won't last as long though.
  24. I just noticed my avi is from the same scene as Optic's and now it's a little confusing, but as far as from the show, I saw now better shot

Love the light cruiser sisters. :) I've been meaning to make a screenshot gallery of them but they haven't appeared enough yet as compared to say Fubuki..

  25. Dunno how I can put this... it's nowhere near To Love-Ru, what I've heard of Queen's Blade, etc... but it's still pretty high up there, what with wardrobe malfunctions during battle (usually by way of the attacks) and clothes just plain disappearing sometimes (even for the guys at times, though). It happens often, but not extreme enough that sites like MAL have it more than PG-13, but I'm sure it would inevitably be a little higher rating at least if it was licensed for NA home video or something. And with that rambling I'm not sure I could possibly explain it in greater detail, so... there you go, I guess.
