I enjoyed it well enough. I particularly liked the interactions between Trevor & Sypha. Also kind of interesting the reinterpretations of the characters of Hector & Isaac. My biggest problem with it as an "American anime" is that pretty much translates into more profanity than the usual anime. I don't find it offensive, but I do have to roll my eyes at it sometimes (who knew the "F" was so prevalent in Medieval times lol). Still no match for Hellsing Ultimate or even the Vampire Hunter D movies, but yeah I'd watch another season to see where things go.

I agree with you there. Seems like American anime loves to drop the F bomb as much as a hooker drops her panties. Was kind of annoying. Otherwise I was surprised that the storyline was so enjoyable.

  2. Just started the Netflix series, Castlevania and I have to say I'm pretty hooked. I'm really picky when it comes to American anime and most I don't care for because they are down right boring as heck. I finally reached season two, episode 5 last night. The only real issue for me on the series is the fact that the seasons are so dang short. Season one literally only has 4 episodes, ugh.

So does anyone else watch the series? What do you think of it?

  3. Would another one (don't know if this was said or not) be, if the series suddenly has a high decline of viewers? I want to say Rosario + Vampire was one of those series that just suddenly quit because it lost most of it's viewers (don't know why, maybe the heavy fan service, not sure).

So, we all have anime we enjoyed right up to the last episode...hoping anxiously that it would be continued, only to learn....it was never meant to be. Other than lack of sales, there are a surprising number of reasons for a series to die off. Here are just a few that come to mind.  Consider some of your own favorite series that suddenly ended for seemingly no reason at all.

    1.  Sometimes, the author is sick or dies.  The series that immediately springs to my mind here is Kaze no Stigma. A wind mage and fire mage, cousins with a sordid history involving who would take over as head of the family,  are brought together again...drama and comedy ensue of course. The anime cut off right at a critical time. (No spoilers so I'll stop there) We never actually find out what becomes of everyone, if the romance actually works out...just when things start to smooth out for the pair the story ends. ~sighs~ Well, the author, Takahiro Yamato, actually wrote the series while he was suffering from Leukemia and was unable to complete it before his death. It is sad to consider when watching it now how he struggled to write it while he was dieing. Now, this is not always the end of a series. In non-anime, there have been instances in which another person, usually a close friend who also is an author, takes over the work and sees it to completion (Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series for instance). I actually have never seen this happen with anime (does not mean it hasn't!). Another that comes to mind is Recovery of an MMO Junkie where the author went on hiatus due to an illness. We can only hope for her recovery.

    2. Can't we all just get along?  Well, sometimes, the studio and the author simply have different opinions on how the work should be conveyed. In His and Her Circumstances, for instance, the studio wanted to focus primarily on the comedic aspects of the story whereas the author simply wanted the romance and the comedy to be equally given. The disagreement over how the story should be conveyed was likely not a diplomatic one (as one could note the final few episodes of the only season are a train wreck). I can only imagine the author's trust in animation studios was utterly destroyed.

    3.  If you want that tax money, you'll have to catch me first!  Yep...I don't know if he actually broke the tax law in Japan on purpose or if it was all a big accounting error (I'm going to go with accounting error...regardless, it wouldn't stop me from reading and watching his works!). Log Horizon was put on hold during a difficult time in the author's life as he dealt with Japan's Tax Collectors snd accusations of tax evasion. I think we can all feel some compassion for his situation. Thankfully, it appears he has started writing again so for this one, we may actually see a new season come out in a year or two.

    4.  Natural Diasasters end good stories. Yona of the Dawn fell victim to this one. A huge earthquake in Japan forced the author to go on an indefinite hiatus. I admit, when reeling from a huge disaster, you do tend to be more concerned with where your next meal will come from and helping your community rebuild and rehome it's people.  That is not a bad thing. I understand.  While recently the author has restarted writing, it is unknown if the anime will be picked up again after so long by the studios. I hope it will be made but...who can say?

    5. Miracles take a lot of work!  Haha, sometimes, an author starts a family and takes time off to raise the little ones. This happened with the author of Otome Yokai Zakuro. Now, while she has stated her intentions to return to writing as soon as she can, we all know the enormous energy dump that children can be (and where one happens a second sometimes follows a year or two later).  It is a miracle of life and I'm happy for her...just wondering how good a season two could be... For those of you Ouran fans who haven't seen this, the lead male reminds me of Tamaki, albeit far more likable and forgivable. It is a beautiful romance for anyone interested.

Well, for now this is my list. Feel free to add on your own list of reasons and lost anime. I'm sure I've missed some as I wrote this out tonight and I certainly won't pretend to know them all either.

Yeah I found out the reason why it took so long for another manga volume to be released for my favorite manga series, Loveless was because the author was severely sick and she wasn't sure if she was going to actually continue on with the manga or not. I guess she decided she would which I'm quite happy about.

  4. I have two favorites.

One being my cellphone, as Beocat has said it has everything I need.

and two, my Smart TV. It has Youtube, VUDU, Netflix, Hulu, etc so I don't have to get up and change discs for most of my movies (VUDU) since 99% are digital and Netflix and Hulu have most of the series I watch. As for YouTube, I mainly watch it for how to find certain things in games, trailers and beauty gurus (my weakness) and fish unboxing (my other weakness).

If you like watching stuff about fish aquariums and just pet fish in general I recommend checking out the Youtuber The king of DIY. He's pretty cool...

  5. I don't have a problem with it per say. Want to watch it? That's fine with me. To be quite honest I have done it a time or two when I am unsure if a series or movie or even a song is worth my money or not. However what I do have a problem with are those who decide to copy the product and try to sell it for some quick cash. I don't care how poor someone is, you don't go making money off someone else's work. I have friends who are programmers, etc. and yes it does hurt them. A lot of people don't seem to understand that it's not just the developers who are affected by this but also the small guys (meaning those who package and box up said products for shipment and those that deliver the product) and it also causes products to go up.

If I really want another anime and can't afford paying $50 - $60 then I usually check out the local pawn stores. I'm unsure of other pawn stores in other states but the ones where I live check for pirated movies/series/albums so I know when I go to buy one, it's the real deal.

Like I said, I'm not entirely against it; it just depends on what you're doing.

  6. Akiba's Trip (PS4)

Finished the main story of the game. I enjoyed it a lot however the only downside is that after beating the story they don't let you go back to do any of the side missions you haven't done yet. Instead after saving they allow you to fully customize your character and the game restarts from the beginning with your new character. *meh*

    Shinobi Striker (PS4)

Beat a few missions and unlocked a butt load of new merch. Didn't do much on this but did play for a couple of hours.

  7. Skyrim (PS4)

Did a few main story missions for Daphine.

    Akiba's Trip (PS4)

Did two side missions and a story mission

    Mass Effect Andromeda (PS4)

Just restarted this game since I only completed one actual playthrough. Even though this game gets a lot of hate, I actually like it.

  8. Akiba's Trip (PS4)

Took a nice long break on this game after rage quiting a few months back. Finally got past one of the missions that I kept dying on.

    The Sims 4 (PC)

Been building crap as well as households and uploading them to the gallery.

That's about it right now. Haven't really been in the gaming mood.

How is Akiba strip, fun? I thought about buying it before but I just don't know.

I like it. It's definitely different from your "average" fighting game (stripping enemies of their clothes instead of just knocking them out or killing them). It's pretty simple too, absolutely no strategy unfortunately. Still, a pretty good game. A favorite? I wouldn't necessarily say that. As much as I love anime I don't particularly have any anime games that are really a favorite (with the exception of Final Fantasy & Persona 5).

  10. The Sims 4 (PC)

Just got a crap ton of expansions, stuff and game packs that I didn't have (been a bit behind, whoops). I've been focusing on building for a few hours and haven't gotten a chance to delve into the gameplay yet. Hoping so sometime this weekend.

I enjoy namimg my pokemon after people in my life who have recently died, it makes you feel a little bit better .

I named my Mew, Una, after my my first dog Luna. I could never name another animal or anything Luna simply because no one could ever replace her but I did come up with something similar in her memory (that's just me though).

  12. Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4)

Really enjoying the gameplay so far even though I haven't done crap for main missions. I've just been enjoying hunting, fishing and occasionally causing mayhem as well as bounty hunting.

    Pokemon Let's Go Eevee (Switch)

Just picked up my preorder of this game and am currently stuck on a nickname for my Eevee (the most challenging thing ever in any game, lol).

  13. Destiny 2 (PS4)

Been on a Destiny 2 binge for the past few days (level 40 now, hella yeah!). I did all of the campaigns except for Forsaken (I did a bunch of them too though). Now I'm focusing on doing public events, raids and getting those legendary items. I know I'll be slacking off majorly after Pokemon Let's Go is released, lol.

  14. Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4)

Got this game back in October (the ultimate edition *screams*) and been playing a mix of optional missions and main missions. I'm still unsure whether or not to be the bad guy or good guy (but I mean I am an outlaw so wouldn't that automatically make me a bad guy? Lol).

    Destiny 2 (PS4)

I haven't done much in this game (I'm only level 6 *cries*) but am looking for friends who are currently playing this to do some missions and crap.

  15. Red Dead Redemption 2 Ultimate Edition

    Assassin's Creed Odyssey

    Destiny 2 (with all DLC's & Expansions)

Feel free to add me on PSN, Xbone, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch (shoot me a message and I'll send you my account names/ Friend Codes).
