  1. In an effort to find the best sausage style meat stick I ordered 22 types now I'm swimming in meat. Might not have thought this one through especially when trying to get through them without them molding since they're varying degrees of dryness not to mention the leftover jerky from the previous round. Could be worse I suppose I could have over ordered something 'healthy' and not delicious. Long live the meat industry I for one welcome my inevitable massive coronary and say it was worth it. If anybody is curious Old Trapper Hot and Spicy won the jerky round though walking away with the number 2 slot for taste the overall texture and the fact that it didn't make me violently ill like the number 1 slot in taste gave it number 1 overall. Uncle Mike's Spicy Hot was number 1 in taste, but it was onion powder heavy which I can only tolerate small amounts of onion even in powder form so for the vast majority of folks who can eat onions and garlic it shouldn't make them sick though they're above average in heat level relative to other products who claim to be spicy so that may be a turn off if you only like mild levels of spice. Texture wise Uncle Mike's was tough as shoe leather though there is always some variation in these products they usually hover around a baseline texture and since crowning Old Trapper as the winner I've returned to the brand and it is consistently fairly soft for jerky anyway.

That’s how my hubs eats when we go out to Golden Corral.. I’m like.. there’s everything here, why do you gotta get 3 different meats and no sides 🤣

Why can't meat be a side? Seems a little foodist to say a meat has to be an entree and only an entree, I believe in a united dinner where any food no matter it's origin can strive to be anything it wishes. I say yes to candied bacon for dessert, I say yes to a side of chicken wings and I say yes to bacon soda though I horribly regret saying yes to the latter, but I won't say it can't strive to be the best beverage it can be.

XD I tried bacon soda too.. Cant say I was satisfied with the result. Maple bacon ice cream on the other hand... very tasty.

  2. Season 3 of Borderlands VIP program is now up, items can be pre-obtained for Borderlands 3 at this time however unlike scaling to when you claim them as 2 and TPS items do these are locked to level 10 also of note is that these are Epic items (purple rarity) where most of the items available for 2 and TPS have been legendary or higher.

  3. I'm more concerned about the accessibility than personal issues with them. Without changing the background the Sailor Moon theme for instance defaults to a white that more or less matches the white in the text making it hard to navigate or simply re-find the themes drop down. Yeah changing the background does edit the theme, but I'm more mentioning that if somebody who doesn't look around clicks a theme and there are no visual changes they might assume it's broken and as far as I can tell there isn't really a tutorial explaining certain features id est I see a mobile background thread, but nothing drawing attention to the actual theme menu. I for one didn't notice the little tiny menu for themes at all until this post popped up, granted I wasn't exactly looking for it, but I suspect I wouldn't be the only one that doesn't notice a menu tucked away at the bottom corner of the site. As far as I can tell the themes change the pool of background images whilst the colors themselves change based more on the background in most cases influencing the header backgrounds based on the image selected. Potentially adding it to the exist AF Theme Background thread as they'd be related, but maybe an annotated screen shot drawing attention to the theme menu itself possibly with it expanded.
  4. Dunno which are new and which are old, but cycling through them several of them don't change anything for me. And some of them make it particular hard to see text in the titles and on background at least for me like the Sailormoon theme.
  5. I'd just like to weigh in that in these sort of things it's generally better to make posts with votes rather than a poll for a few reasons. 1) it ensures that it does indeed work the way as intended 2) you can require they give a reason for their vote if you're concerned with things like simply voting for your friend's work, but that's typically for sites trying to keep the contest anonymous so prolly doesn't apply for this site 3) prevents dummy accounts from voting, if that is a concern to begin with 4) votes can be edited easily before the deadline 5) no chance of a misclick and people know their vote went through. 6) keep people from voting for themselves if you want to rule that out as an option Several points depend on how you want to run the contest but the main point that the votes go through as the voter intended is the by far the largest reason IMO. If the entrants themselves aren't anonymous the voting really doesn't have to be and even with sites that try to be anonymous the voting tends to be less of a factor though I'd argue anonymous entry is pointless as people have signatures that tend to give away who entered what rendering it moot, but I'd still advocate for post based voting in the future.

    Soap

A quick search into ingredients of herbal essences show that their baseline product has sodium lauryl sulfate an extremely drying surfactant not to mention its link to a myriad of other potential health risks so that could by why it dries out your hair. Im fairly certain most men's shampoo excludes lavender they tend to go for tea tree oil which gives that pine-like scent that the majority of non-artificially scented male soap reeks of. I'm allergic to black walnut leaf oil though its actually poisonous for humans, never heard of anybody being allergic to lavender, must be a pain depending on just how allergic you are to it, past soaps which should be relatively easy to get around Id imagine it'd be hard to get around other people's perfumes. Lavender is kind of a staple in them that's not to mention it's a popular ingredient in cleaners considering lavender oil is a natural anti-bacterial.

    Soap

Recently I've gotten negative comments regarding the scent of soap I happen to use which prompted my idle curiosity. What do you look for in a soap, shampoo or conditioner? How important are the sub-categories that aren't priorities in and of themselves? Do you feel compelled to purchase a product that is marketed towards a particular gender and are you opposed to using a product that isn't traditionally marketed towards groups to which you belong? Where I live we frequently have very drying to actively caustic water combating from chemicals added to combat algae blooms that produce potentially fatal cyano-toxins so a priority for me is the avoidance of harsh surfactants that can lead to dry skin as I already have issues with my skin drying out easily adding to the problem particularly during the times where the water is poor just makes me woefully uncomfortable. I also make sure to avoid chemicals conclusively linked to health risks even though the quantity used in soaps is considered safe because why risk it when there are plenty of options to eliminate them entirely. Certain scents give me massive headaches particularly long lasting chemically formed scents so I avoid them however as long as the scent doesn't physically bother me (usually needs to not be benzene based id est most artificial scents) I don't really care what the scent itself is. Lastly due to the cramped quarters in our particular current shower bars of soap don't last long as there is no way to avoid the water from running directly on the bar of soap using the holder so I always pick up liquid soap. Following all these guidelines I found shampoo much easier to find a quality product than any sort of body wash since liquid body washes tend to have real issues lathering without a harsh surfactant in them. I recently switch my hand soap over to Dr Squatch from Tamarinda. Tamarinda is fairly decent glycerin based soap, but I still found it drying out my hands and it did have a variety of scents I did enjoy, but scent isn't as important as the soap quality itself and Dr Squatch is the difference between night a day since switching I haven't had any of the previous issues with woefully dry skin at least on my hands and I don't mind the Bay Rum scent. For Shampoo I simply resigned myself to use Pantene Pro-V Rose Water, while not a fan of the scent I couldn't really care less that it's primarily marketed to females, it's concentrated so it provides a good lather it's not drying though it is actually a little greasy for my preference probably meant for longer thicker hair but it's cost effective and checks all my personal boxes avoid harsh chemicals, being non-drying, providing a solid lather, and the scent while floral and not appealing to me it doesn't give me a headache. (That's the one that I've received negative comments about using) For body wash I've tried about 20 different brands each with varying pros and cons and kept hopping around mostly due to not lathering effectively while avoiding surfactants. I finally settled on a brand called Attitude, which uses a Coco-sulfate which is a surfactant, but not an overly harsh one and one that isn't linked to the problems of lauryl sulfates so it provides a fair lather though a little low for my tastes still it's acceptable. Unlike most brands that avoided the very cheap and effective lauryl sulfates it's fairly cheap which is a big plus. Preference towards the Orange scent it's a scent I actually enjoy (I'm a sucker for fruit scents actually) and while not actively moisturizing it at least doesn't contribute to dry skin so it's the product I'm going to stick with at least until we get moved where the new shower should allow for bar soap and I'll likely end up switching to Dr Squatch.
  8. Who is which character? I'm assuming by your post in the Borderlands 3 thread that you're playing as a Lilith, but who are you running with? - Water has been poor quality here for reasons so I've stayed away from my console a bit since I don't like playing it with dry skin due to the blow back of the fan so I've stuck to the Switch. Fire Emblem Three Houses, Black Eagle House.
  9. Just temporary, but it beats nothing and a cover photo was uploaded this day.

  10. A lot of the listed powers the opposite is simply not being able to do the thing which humans can't so it'd be called being 'normal' at least for humans. Opposite of regeneration I'd say would be Hemophilia, lacking the ability to clot properly pretty much means you don't heal properly with potentially to die from what would be relatively harmless to somebody who is normal. By definition the opposite of intangibility would be tangibility something everybody possesses since we interact as if we're solid objects because we're solid objects. Same as above for invisibility though I'd like to point out the inherent flaw if one were actually invisible you'd be blind while using said power and you'd still emit heat, smell, and would be tangible unless you have some sort of combo power going on so you'd still be pretty easily detected plus humans do have a sort of sixth sense about being able to instinctively feel when an object is near them without it interacting with them in otherwise perceptible fashions. Opposite of shape shifting would be being particularly rigid so I'd Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva or colloquially referred to as stone skin disease. Joints, connective tissues, organs become ossified and effectively becomes new bone tissue. Teleportation's opposite would simply be requiring time to relocate to another place instantly of instantly being transported to a new place so every normal human has the opposite of teleportation in that they have to travel from point a to point b. I'm going to say by appendage manipulation you're referring to the classic bendy superpower and I'd put that in the same vein as shape shifting. Planet and weather manipulation's opposite would be simply not be able to manipulate the weather spontaneously and humans can't do that, they can however use technology to manipulate the weather but it's not like some guy just decides he wants rain so he goes outside and commands rain out of thin air so humans already have that as well since use of external science doesn't count as a superpower. Opposite of breathing underwater or in space would simply be not be able to which incidentally nobody would be able to breathe in space there's literally nothing to breathe in space. A reduced lung capacity so one couldn't survive as long could sort of be counted as an opposite though interestingly enough even if humans had some sort of gill system and lung system it'd still not really let you just magically breathe underwater. You'd have to have a system that allowed you to keep regulated pressure in your lungs while breathing through gills otherwise you'd get decompression sickness either from going to deep underwater or when you come out of the water. (yes fish do get decompression sickness often times simply when you pull them out of the water when you're fishing as it's actually far easier for a gill system to get decompression sickness than it is for our lungs. In theory if you took a deep breath of air never releasing it or inhaling you could swim as far down as you want and surface as fast as you want and not suffer from decompression gill system aren't quite that lucky as to being able to in some way prevent it by simply holding their 'breath'.) The proverbial spider sense, humans actually have that by default. That feeling when you laying there and you feel like you're falling and it wakes you up, that's basically your real life spider sense. Further than that danger intuition is more or less the ability to feel pain, pain is your body saying something isn't right that you should fix it sooner rather than later by say removing your hand from the oven burners and to that there are people who can't feel pain and that's the closest to the opposite you're going to find it's called congenital analgesia. Duplication is another case of simply not being able to do it and humans can't spontaneously divide into two humans. Cells divide and constantly replace so if you want the opposite of that it'd be called death. Manipulation of magnetic fields is also something humans can't do however, we actually can innately sense magnetic fields. We as humans are natural compasses we have a tiny iron deposit in our noses that instinctively point us towards magnetic fields which theoretically can be used to discern magnetic North on our planet. Males have larger iron deposits and thus make better compasses so being female would be the closest to being opposite I suppose. Humans can talk to animals and talk to infants the ability would be able to understand them as if they were speaking a distinguishable language, but even among our own kind if you speak English and somebody you're speaking to speaks German then you're not really communicating with them effectively that said even people who don't understand a single word the other is saying could get some basic thoughts across through body language or something and animals are the same way while we can't discern what each of their noises precisely mean we can get a general idea of what they want without that knowledge so I'd say the inability to do so would be being so self-involved one is completely oblivious to everything else and that'd be an extreme form of hubris or narcissism. I would like to say the opposite of superpowers would in most case be having superpowers, there isn't really a single traditional 'superpower' that you'd actually want to have. Invisibility doesn't actually make you invisible and you'd be blind. Super Speed you'd be ripped apart by colliding with a bug at significant enough speeds or absorb an egregious amount of radiation if there weren't any actual particles to kill you from colliding with them or the very real possibility that you burst into flames from friction and that's not even mentioning due to how we move if you went to fast your legs would simply snap in two before you could reach those super human speeds. With super strength you'd not be able to break through walls since in reality reality gets in the way and whatever force you put on object the object puts on you and you'd need super density to use your super strength or you'd just be a guy pushing against a wall or trying to pick up a car you'd still have limited points of contact so the car would just break around your arms that is if you had super durability that your bones didn't just snap since super strength doesn't always mean you have the needed durability to actually use it. Outside those issues our world is designed for about average people of about average strength with super strength you'd constantly have to be careful about controlling how much pressure you put on something it'd likely drive you insane. Flying, lack of oxygen the higher up you go so suffocation warnings if trying to use it for anything more than a hover. Super hearing, you can't selectively tune things out so every little sound would be amplified like somebody constantly shouting in your ear and people weren't designed for that if they were to acquire it later in life it'd be a real headache. A real super power would be being slightly better than everybody else if you were slightly faster than the fastest person or slightly stronger than the strongest person you'd be better, but you wouldn't be out of spec as it were and thus you'd be still be 'super' human, but you'd pretty much be ordinary still. Fun fact: The human body is theoretically capable of running 40 miles per hour without issues in that our legs wouldn't snap in two, we'd still be able to breath well enough to maintain it etc etc.
  11. I'm out of college I have a Bachelors of Science for Computers with a double minor in Chemistry and Statistics and I do nothing with any of it, well I guess that's not entirely true I did make a sort of makeshift thermite 'trap' out of a lightbulb, but that was more or less just for giggles. If you're just taking courses for yourself then why not try auditing a class rather than registering for one? If possible it'd be a) cheaper and b) you'd have no obligation to the class since you wouldn't need to be actually enrolled in it and you could get the benefit of the class for yourself. You'd just have to find a class that is okay with audits.
  12. In Spaceball's when Dark Helmet says he's Lonestar's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate he could have simply shortened it to say that he was Lonestar's cousin's former roommate. Your father's brother's nephew's cousin is simply your cousin since your father's brother is your uncle and you are uncle's nephew even if you have a sibling you'd still be your uncle's nephew and your cousin is clearly your cousin and it wouldn't even have to be your uncle's child since you can have multiple sources for cousins and even more if you simply view cousin as a generalization term that can include first cousins, second cousins, third cousins, etc etc to vary degrees of separation, but the point is that I'm really bored, but father's brother's nephew is simply yourself and syntactically null in this sense. Furthermore since you can pretty much be anybody's roommate Dark Helmet could be any relation to Lonestar so when he goes one to say what that makes them, it doesn't actually make them anything which is true, but it doesn't not make them anything either.

  13. At a certain degree of separation there stops being names for the relation. While they would be a cousin-in-law it's a turn of phrase that is rarely used due to the degree of separation it's kind of how people seldom refer to their fourth cousin twice removed as such and would just call them by their name. (for those interested a fourth cousin is one that you share at least one great-great-great grandparent with and to be twice removed would mean they are two-generation difference between you so they or you would have to be grandparents in some capacity or basically it's a theoretical, but ultimately absurd technical relation to somebody) Some cultures it is perfectly acceptable or even encouraged to marry one's cousin, many South American cultures it's perfectly normal to marry your 2nd or 1st cousin and in the Middle East it is often encouraged for various reason, but if it's a legitimate interest to know what they'd be called the highest degree of relation takes precedent by convention so wife/husband would take precedent over cousin and their parent's would typically be referred to as your mother-in-law and father-in-law instead of your aunt and uncle again purely by common convention since they'd still be both you could call them whatever you wish technically. - As for Zeg being the day after tomorrow I'd say if you're going with English the closest would be the archaic "overmorrow" since it's technically English just not used anymore.
  14. I'm not sure I would count Lucifer as the Devil in that particular anime since the Devil in the title refers Satan (Sadou Maou) From the brief time I've been here I picture you more of Alciel (which I'm going to say keeping with the theme of the show would transliterated to Azaz'el) (Ashiya Shirou) from that particular anime though Lucifer is supposed to be an Otaku which would fit with your username.

Did you play TPS? Characters from it will be returning as well if that's important to you at all along with Tales From the Borderlands characters. (some of which were already in the Commander Lilith Free DLC)
  16. Signature finished now just need to muster enough enthusiasm to finish a cover photo.

    Borderlands 3

If you're waiting for a price decrease, they are planning on putting it on Gamepass and ofcourse Gears 5 is going on there launch day if you're a fan of shooters and want variety. They do have a standard priced version with their deluxe and super deluxe offering more or less purely cosmetic benefits though the super deluxe does include the season pass for upcoming DLC, but it's included at the full price they usually sell it for on the market. With cosmetics becoming a larger part of Borderlands there runs the risk of cosmetics being a part of the season pass this time around which Borderlands 2 already saw essentially with the head hunter DLC which were very short in actual content and the pay off was simply a head for each one so the standard is probably the way to go if you're not big into cosmetics and prefer gameplay for your dollar. They are claiming that it has a lot more content this time around and the scale of the maps suggest as such, but Gearbox is Gearbox and you have to take their claims with a grain of salt.

    Borderlands 3

The past playable sirens will both be in 3, so if you are referring to either Lilith or Maya they will be returning in some capacity, but not as a playable character. The playable characters are Fl4k, a robotic beastmaster, Amara, a siren who draws from the hindu religion for character design, Moze, an ex Vladof soldier from the Iron Bear Division, and Zane a corporate assassin related to both Baron Flynt and Captain Flynt both of which were bosses in previous games, he'd also be related to Sparky Flynt as well if youve played the Borderlands 2 headhunter dlc.
  19. Am I missing the suggested px area for a cover photo or isn't there one and it's more trial and error to get the right size?

      Seshi

I believe the optimal image size is 1000px by 250px for the cover photo. Hope this helps you. I'm going to try and update the wording to make that more clear now. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks, that does help I was going to make all new items to fill out my profile since I had some time and ended up skipping the cover for the time being.
