  1. I have watched a few episodes of this, I did not enjoy it as much as I wanted to haha. I thought it was really well produced and directed, but it didn't interest me, perhaps of its art style mixed with the slow progression. Not to say that I don't enjoy slow progression, I love shows like Ergo Proxy and Mushishi.
  2. To be honest, I have to say unfortunately that if feels is what you are after. "A Silent Voice" is by far better than "Your Name" even though your name was an exciting and beautiful story, the directing and storytelling brilliance in "A Silent Voice" is further advanced in uniqueness and genuine emotions and problems. I saw both in the Cinema, I enjoyed both, but in regards to genuineness, A Silent Voice takes the cake. Your Name is more of a fairy tale beauty.
  3. Have you seen any? Or are you new to the Anime Movie scene?
  4. Not quite what I was looking for but I must say this is definitely not something I have heard about. Especially not a serious consideration of the topic involved. None the less very good suggestion.
  5. Hey, Everyone, I am in search of something new and exciting that rarely gets seen. This is not in regards to genre, this is in regards to plot. For example ideas like making a dictionary. Recently heard about that Anime which is driven with the purpose of creating a dictionary. Are there any other shows you deem relevant in this distinction? It can be anything unique.
  6. It sounds like a slice of life anime, it would be helpful to know what type of genre it is. Can you confirm? This is what I found, perhaps one of these are the ones. From most likely to least. 1. http://vintage-shoujo.livejournal.com/3375.html 2. https://myanimelist.net/anime/1299/Flag 3. https://myanimelist.net/anime/3879/Paris_no_Isabelle 4. https://myanimelist.net/anime/9938/Ikoku_Meiro_no_Crois%C3%A9e_The_Animation I hope it helps.
  7. Interesting you say this, because I had the same dissatisfaction of his other works. Yet this one was so much fun, yes it has flaws but it is well worth a watch. It is a little different to what you might expect.

    Narration

Could you perhaps be a bit more descriptive as to why you prefer little to no narration, is there a particular reason you believe it doesn't work in Ookami?

    Narration

@Nutty So for you, character Narration is a success if the character is fluid enough to be loved by most people, or rather just loved by someone who watches a show. I agree that this is the case that without a likable or relatable character it will be difficult to enjoy their thoughts on a topic or situation. @RepentantSky I think you are on point, so narration can also be used as a mask for lack of funds or laziness. Which destroys the potential of the show/movie. Can you think of any shows where this is the case, particularly an Anime?

    Narration

Either idea is great, but I particularly mean character Narration.
  11. I have been watching Anime for some time now, and I have not come across many Anime with Narration in it. Particularly I am meaning the Gods eye view type of narration. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. What are your thoughts would narration make something more fun? Particularly, do you think that it would add or remove quality?
  12. I don't really watch Sports anime, and my friends all told me I judge sports Anime too quickly. So I got recommended Haikyu! so giving that a shot, I am enjoying it so far even though it is exactly the premise I expected. Lets see what I make of it.
  13. Welcome! AF is where it's at. Hopefully, we can have some good discussions. Here is a song, hopefully, you enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBBFDb0hC4Y
  14. Regardless you are missing the point of my post. The remakes also make the characters different. Total Recall is a great example of this again. They have even changed the story. Listen this is a based on death note. It doesn't claim to be death note it is westernized. Therefor it will be different. That's the point, and it should be. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_modernized_adaptations_of_old_works There is a list. They even changed the name of some of them.
  15. I agree with Zoop it is really not the end of the world that he is black, and let's just be clear. This is not a direct adaption, to begin with, I mean imagine if they added a random Asian guy in to look exactly like L. I would look at this movie like I would any remake of a film. Look at any film that has been made in the last 10 years, I promise you 65% of them are remakes from films in the 1950-1990s. They did not make the characters look exactly the same its a very common thing to happen within the community. I mean look at transformers, what a disaster of a remake but it's a good example. Don't look at this as an adaption look at this as a based on true story type of feel. The true story being that it's based on death note. People need to relax, the original is still there and you can still recommend it. We have to get it out of our minds that a dumb remake of a show will create bad rep. Or else we have to relook our motive and mindset behind One Punch Man. Because what it was originally was horribly drawn lol.
  16. These suggestions are all wrong, they are all about the main character lol. I think you want something more like this. "hai to gensou no grimgar" its fun and its not much about the main character. The show is well produced I hope you enjoy it.
  17. He just made an official video on it lol here you go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykKB0IUuuXk
  18. No problem, I hope I have the opportunity to see more of your cosplaying skills in the future. I appreciated you sharing what you enjoy.
  19. Here is a video for you guys, I think it will be informative in light of how we view Anime Adaptions and perhaps even any type.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=c-CU2O9V_EA;t=330 Actually, let's give you two I would recommend both videos before we continue this assessment. I would highly recommend the second video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGLxZBajInM
  20. This is a really difficult question, each character has so many unique and wonderful reason for their respected story. I think this comes down to the one I think fits the story the best and is consistent with growth and in light of the plot. I think that the whole cast of Bebop is fantastic, but just to be a bit different I will say Sakurako Kujou. I think she has such a well-developed story and fits so perfectly within her sphere, she never does things just because. She inherently draws from her own character the choices she makes, and we see a beautiful history in how she became who she is now. She is by far up there in reasons to be my #1 favorite character.
  21. What was the last year that you dived into the seasons? Do you have an anime list I could see to give you some suggestions in accordance to that?
  22. You did a great job you look like you had a lot of fun lol. I wish I had an opportunity to go to one of these.
  23. Rin Asogi. She is the character, most sad to my soul. To describe would take away the feeling it brings me to know of her existence as a character. What an unfortunate life.
  24. I am watching the latter. Sorry to disappoint.
  25. I have already gone to see it, it was fantastic to see it with my friends, male and female. The awkward scenes are implemented for a reason, I mean it's reasonably realistic. I wrote a review on it purely because I saw it in a huge theater, not a normal one, which was a massive privilege. But I think that it would have been better to watch it at home for the pure reason that the subtitles were quite low and you missed a lot of the epic animation that is produced. The film was fun to watch with friends though so it depends on how much of a social person you are. I enjoyed watching it in the Cinema, but for personal entertainment, I would recommend home viewing.
