  1. Hi there! I saw your profile and you know, I'm also a fan of Sonic the hedgehog. My favorite is Sonic Adventure 2: Battle.
  2. Welcome to the anime forums. Nice to meet you!
  3. Mm. No, I'm referring to a pink sauce.
  4. Sakana sounds like a nice place to try. If the pandemic ends and I see my friends again, I'd love to stop by one. Wow. So there's Sakura restaurants on the other side of the states. My brother is the manager of one. Tell me, do you know what shrimp sauce is? I went to a Canadian Japanese place and people tell me they've never heard of it. That's... unappetizing. (I'd still try it)
  5. Welcome! I'd double the recommendation on Vinland Saga. I've never seen the anime but I loved the manga. Trigun is amazing. I'm glad to hear of it. I don't really know if it's obscure now. People always mention Neon Genesis Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop, but Trigun? I feel like it's lost to the ages. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Attack On Titan, Psycho Pass might your shtick. (Though, I'm guessing you might've seen these already) But yeah, post a blog and participate. Although, I have no idea if blogs get any exposure. I don't go hunting around for them. I hope you find what you're looking for.
  6. Ah, so rather, a chef of the house. Yeah, the fan service is over-the-top and is the highlight of the show. Have you tried black pasta? It's on my bucket list of things to try if I ever get the chance.
  7. Yeah, sushi is everywhere isn't it. It's even at gas stations and one Walmart. I haven't heard of a Sakana restaurant. I know of a Sakura restaurant. You're a chef? Quick, what do you think about the Food Wars anime? Bruh, that show introduced me to the term "umami". The slow-cooking bone broth sounds really tasty... I'll have you know... I like to live *dangerously*. I'll try every sushi at a sushi buffet.
  8. I live in my room. If I wanted Japanese food, I'd have to actually leave it, and there's no way that's happening. I feel like everyone has definitely tried Hibachi and Teriyaki steak with rice. It's hard not to; it's everywhere. That said, when I did happen to be outside my room, I definitely tried ramen. It's so tasty. I've tried other things but good ramen is so good. I had Creme Brulee and sushi. What about everyone else here?
  9. I spaced out into the sunny scenery. The trees and grass seem so carefree, swaying in whatever direction the wind chooses. "Why did you lose?" I turned my eyes to her. Her scowl was intense. "My luck had ran out. What's it to you?" "You shouldn't have lost. Your opponent was weaker." "It sounds like you know her personally." "I do know her. In fact, I know I can out best her any day of the week." "Well, you should be happy. Your friend got farther than you did." "She doesn't deserve it. Neither of you do." The wind picked up. Her words took me by surprise, but I kept my unmoving face. "You should have lost our fight. I'll prove it right now." "Are you serious? The fight is over." "But I'm the better fighter. I need to right this wrong." "You don't need to right anything. The fight is OVER." "You're wrong. Our fight never ended." I instinctively grabbed my sword's hilt. She sees it and kicks my hand. I'm clearly in a disadvantaged state, as I'm still sitting down. I panic and try to jump off the carriage. Before I do so, she slights me in my side with her knife. I crash onto the ground and stumble on getting up. The carriage leaves me behind. I unsheathe my sword. She shows up shortly after, both knives at the ready. "Shiva... you arrogant soldier..."
  10. I do not know lol. Found that video more than a year ago. It led me on a journey of wild and crazy ambitious MC projects on youtube. Your projects are amazing too. It's exactly as I imagined them to be. Well, aside from the teal roof color. Any particular reason you chose that color? On a side note: Are you an administrator somewhere? I swear I've seen that purple haired picture somewhere before.
  11. Mm. I'm not an artist, but it seems a lot of anime artists got their style by straight up trying to draw their favorite character in anime. And then kept doing that over and over again. That said, you could always go to Amazon, and look up "how to draw ecchi" and see where that leads you.
  12. The pervert role provides some relatability and some cheap and easy comic relief. It's a running trope where the audience needs a distraction from all of the seriousness and having it mainly associate with a character is an easy trigger to pull on, whenever the writer needs it. Do you want to hint two characters having a possible relationship? And then completely snap it back with absolutely zero progress made? Then you introduce a perverted scene. Do you want to expand your audience? Sex sells, so introduce multiple girls. And then introduce their affection to the MC. And then constantly bait your audience into thinking there's progress, while trying to keep the status quo of MC appealing to everyone, so he cannot exclusively go after one girl. Writers just don't want to focus on the actual dynamics of their characters. They want to focus on the surface level of what looks cute, romantic, and amazing. They want the MC to be appealable to EVERYONE, because as soon as people start hating the MC, they DROP the show.
  13. Do you have pictures of said Japanese-style houses? Have you seen this video?
  14. Welcome! Quick, what's your opinion on Rent-A-Girlfriend? Is the MC a loser or not?
  15. Yeah. Lots of dialogue. I may do script-style, but I like the ability to describe things more. Like write paragraphs about the tension in the scene. Idk. I could try it.
  16. As much as I would love to introduce people to anime... Most people aren't that open minded to new things. The older you get, the more likely you stick to what you know. I mean I watch a ton of niche anime and read random manga, but it takes a lot of effort to get me to do something else. Like I'm supposed to be a fan of The Office, some Korean dramas, and Rust/Rocket League/Marvel vs Capcom... but I just don't get that interested as much as my friends get.
  17. Lots of... Reddit, Youtube, existential crisis thinkspace, and indie video games. I want to be a game dev so I'm trying something and seeing where that will lead me.
  18. Mm. I can kinda see it as a script, but that wasn't my intention. I think because I wanted an actiony kind of pacing, fast and all, I made sure to make each line short. That said, I'm not too aware of how a script layout looks like. Would not know how to lay it out like one.
  19. I loved Full Metal Panic. All of the characters are endearing. Does anyone know a similar anime?
  20. Swordsman and Shiva By Pathospades ------- Her knife tickled my neck. If I didn't step back and held my breath, my HP would've really halved right there. I have to force some distance, but she keeps following up her knife attacks. I deflect it with my sword from my side, my face, my leg, and even the back of my head. She goes for the neck one more time and I manage to counter her with my foot to her gut. She steps back. It's always safer to step back after getting hit, because if I follow up, my attack would hit first. I can barely breath. It's such a tough time reacting so instantly. The crowd is cheering for Shiva, the underdog beauty of this tournament. Her long white hair compliments her frigid gaze. She has an elite soldier's black outfit. It's the fight for 100,000 gold and I'm confident that I'll win. She's breathing more ragged than me. If she takes maybe three more hits, it's game. "Come at me!" I shout. "I'll shut you up!" She answers my call by crouching near my legs. She doesn't strike under though. She super jumps. I grab her ankle and slam her body straight on the ground. She's so taken by surprise that she drops her knives. Nevermind the hits. I have my sword at her neck and she's grounded. "It's my win." It's anti-climatic, but she has no more moves left. Her face was such a vicious scowl and you know, I couldn't help but grin. I was the victor of the preliminaries. "That's how I met Shiva, the dual-knife wielding soldier. Fast. Ferocious. And spiteful. I lost the next fight and the next day, she's my side quest partner, assigned by her higher-up. Me?" I'm stuck on this quest because I need the money to make up for losing." "That's why she keeps glaring at you?" Asked the merchant. "Yeah. I beat her fair and square. I don't deserve her hate. And now we have to deal with each other until we get to the next town." "It's a shame. She's quite the looker." "Yeah, I know. But I'd have better chances with some maid than her. She hasn't said a word to me since."
