I'm working security for a Fortune 500 company, who just gave a $3.00/hr raise to their cleaning crew...who now make more money than we do!!! They've been promising us a raise for over a year now and still nothing. At a couple of places I worked I was on friendly terms with some of the security guys and a common complaint was that they had to work long hours for poor pay. I've always thought that changing the name of the "Personnel Department" to "Human Resources Department" gave a good indication of how companies regarded their employees, we weren't people any more we were just another resource. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ian is a Tropical Storm now, so wind and rain is picking up, but as of now here in Jacksonville, just some downed trees. Nothing major to report.
