Unspoken Feelings (Poem by Sakura) ~

[Sakura]

Sometimes when I write I feel a bit better, I don't know if I feel a bit better after writing this but I'd rather write out my feelings than keep them inside because at least it's a little bit of weight off my chest and if nothing else a good distraction for awhile:

 

Sometimes I sit and I stare at your name,
Because it's all that I have that makes me feel sane,
While all I can do is wonder, "Does he feel the same?"
I'll think about telling you,
But I never will,
Even though if I'm honest I've typed it all out,
Probably more times than I can count. 
I always delete it,
And never hit send,
While I lie to myself, 
Saying these feelings will come to an end.
If I just ignore it,
If I let it pass,
They'll go away, just wait another day.
But I wait and I wait and they only get bigger,
So I tell myself stories,
I craft an escape,
Convincing my own heart this is all a mistake.
But then every night when the world fades to black,
Thoughts of you pull me right back.
I wonder if somehow you already know,
If you catch all the hints that I try not to show.
You think it would be easy,
It's just 3 little words,
"I like you",
But they weigh like a mountain to heavy to say. 
I rehearse it alone, it's perfect inside, 
But the moment you're near the words always hide.
Maybe it's my own fear, or maybe it's just doubt, 
Maybe I'm scared of a world without.
But still I wonder, 
And still I dream, 
Of a maybe that you're thinking of me.
For now, I'll swallow my words and push them back down, 
Wear a smile, don't make a sound, 
But maybe one day when the timing feels right, 
When the weight of the silence is too much to fight,
I'll take a deep breathe and I'll silence this fear, 
I'll say those 3 words I'd like for you to hear. 
no more what-ifs and no more pretend, 
No more messages I never send. 
With my heart on my sleeve and nothing to lose, 
I'll whisper the truth, 
"I've always really liked you"
And maybe you'll smile, maybe you'll stay,
Maybe just maybe, you'll feel the same way.

Great poem Sakura. I especially liked the last line from you poem. And maybe you'll smile, and maybe you'll stay, Maybe just maybe, you'll feel the same way. It's great that you can write out your feelings by writing poems, which i never could because i normally keep my feelings inside but it's great you can do this and i'm happy for you. I also couldn't write a good poem because first i don't know how, and second i can't rhyme in english even though i love reading and listening to poetry a lot. It would be great to read another poem of you, but of course that's up to you to write another one if you want to. Thank you and have a great day.

This is so heartfelt sis.. I wish you wouldn't feel so negative about it all. Feelings aren't a bad thing, whether returned or not, the important part is you're opening yourself up to love again. If this doesn't work out something else will. You aren't meant to be alone and someone is going to appreciate all the wonderful things about you, see all the amazing qualities and traits you have, fall in love with your crazy, funny, chaos and you'll spend a happy life with them living out so many crazy adventures  Don't settle for anything less and don't give up when you haven't even told them how you feel yet, odds are they feel the same if I had to guess based on what I know.

You really do write such good poems Sakura, and that's a really beautiful cry from the heart. It's been said that those three words are the hardest ones to actually say to someone, it's also been said that if you don't tell someone how you feel about them they'll never know.

Please listen to your sister, she makes a lot of sense.

Thank you I tend to keep my feelings inside as well, only at the point that they get so big it's actually hurting me do I usually end up writing lol ~ poetry doesn't have to rhyme though I never make much attempt to rhyme tbh I just write what I'm thinking and feeling.

Thanks they are a lot harder than I think I ever imagined lol not that I ever imagined I'd find myself in a place where I want to say them again ~ and I've told you the reasoning behind that before and I don't want to repeat the mistake, which I feel like is the path I'm heading down x.x

Damn our inability to express emotions I think you'll feel better once you do say it. At least you'll have clarity and you won't be repeating the past mistake of never telling them how you feel.

I completely agree with your sister too. Just let them know how you feel so at least you can know one way or another without any what ifs. I know you don't want that kind of regret again.

I keep saying that to her but you know how she is :V I've given her 7 business to complete this task in or I'm going to go behind her back and do it myself wahahaha

Thanks Ori and no I can't say as I do lol ~ making that mistake once and having to live with something I've never truly been able to let go of hasn't been a good feeling and I definitely don't want to repeat that mistake now that I've finally let go of that past ~
