I think this poem had to be written to kind of get out the last of my feelings of what I'm holding onto regarding past situations, which I think most of my friends on here know the story/situation and will understand the meaning of the poem I've held on too long to your ghost in my head, Chasing the shadows of words I never said, I've lived in the echoes of the past, Clutching to the pieces that shattered too fast. Time has stolen my chance to be heard, It's left me alone with a heart full of words, I've held on too long, but tonight I'll let go, Releasing the hopes of things you'll never know. The weight of your memory has only pulled me down, Making me drown. I made a home out of missing you, That only colored my world in blue. I've broken myself just to hold onto you, But I'm fixing up the cracks and painting them new, I'm taking a breath, I'm setting you free, No more pretending you're still here with me. I'm glad that you made the decision to change this and even in the last few months you've been working on this I've noticed a lot of change in you.
