Bleach is NOT universal

Recommended Posts

Now I just started Bleach in December 2024 and finished early 2025 and it's definitely my second favorite anime of all time. My favorite characters are Byakuya, Yoruichi, Kisuke, Tsukishima, and Tosen (because Tosen is a dark skin brotha and he has the original domain expansion because you know, his bankai engulfs him and his opponent in a separate space and the opponent seemingly gets affected guaranteed okay ill hush). Anyways, I've been seeing online that Bleach characters are multiversal, universal, solar system level or star level and I just need to know entirely where they have gotten this information from in this anime. One reason I know for sure as to why people think these characters can destroy solar systems with one swing, destroy the universe with their spiritual pressure or whatever, is that people think "world" means "universe" in the series. The word "World" can have multiple different meanings depending on the context, but "world" does not mean "universe" in this anime at all. People really think that the Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and the world of the living are all universes. People even think the Soul Society is infinite because the Muken is infinite. This anime has never said that Soul Society was infinite or has given any sign that its infinite in size at all and also Muken may be infinite, which was confirmed by Unohana, but remember that it's an entirely separate space that is sealed off from the outside world which is the Soul Society (which is all said in sub of the anime Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Arc episode 10 titled "The Drop" at 15:39. In the dub, "Immeasurably vast" are the words used to describe the size of Muken). And if Soul Society was infinite because the Muken is infinite, then it wouldn't even make sense that Unohana and Kenpachi were able to find an entry point (they literally opened doors to enter the Muken) to this infinite separate space for their battle at all. Now I don't get how people don't truly understand that the Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and The World of The Living are in different dimensions WITHIN the same universe at all from watching this anime. Once again, these three worlds are not universes at all. The Bleach cosmology only has one universe, and their one universe has three worlds within their own dimensions. If putting pieces together, context clues, or just paying attention was not enough and you need words to genuinely explain to you that these worlds are not universes, then you can watch Bleach: Memories of Nobody. Kisuke says at 18:29, (in dub, I haven't watched the sub of Memories of Nobody) "Allow me to clarify a few of these concepts. You see our universe has two worlds which are The World of The Living, where we are, and the Soul Society. Between them is the Dangai Precipice World which serves as a tunnel as well as its main purpose to keep the two worlds from colliding see? You went through it one time, or have you forgotten? It doesn't matter. At any rate about three days ago a new dimension appeared between the Dangai Precipice World and The World of The Living. It began to expand rapidly, breaking the gap and adhering to both worlds. At this point it appears that the area it attached itself is acting as a lens. Now you see The World of The Living looks as if it's located within the Soul Society, which is in a different dimension. In other words, it just looks like a mirage. {laughs}" Now I used this movie because I'm pretty sure its canon or at least has some canon to it because remember that Ichigo has mentioned The Valley of Screams (which was from Bleach: Memories of Nobody) so I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to use this. Plus, what Kisuke said is generally the Bleach cosmology anyway. The highest destructive feat Bleach has is multi-world level (Yhwach having the power to merge the worlds together and their collision can cause destruction upon them). Yamamoto is theoretically planetary ONLY if he can engulf his bankai around an entire planet. Also, these planetary feats (except for Yamamoto) aren't even like raw power eradication of an entire world at all, these are all done by DESTABILIZATION of the world, not genuinely destroying them with your raw power. Destabilization is literally one of the major things that characters want to prevent in Bleach, this anime is NOT on some comic book power levels or Dragon Ball power at all. And people assume that the Soul King is omnipotent when the anime did not say ANYTHING or give ANY hint of him being an omnipotent being at all. He's just an important symbol to the worlds, maintaining their balance. And if he was omnipotent, then he wouldn't have even been absorbed at all and prevent Ichigo from slicing him because he's literally omnipotent, but none of that happened, did it? Because Soul King isn't omnipotent at all. Also, people assume that Hueco Mundo is infinite too, but the anime has never said that it was infinite. The characters in the anime were just saying that it's huge and that's all.

I think of Bleach as a Men in Black ripooff. A good one, don't get me wrong. Renji gets the series 4 deatomizer. Ichogo gets the Noisy Cricket. Frank the pug = Kohn

Jeebs = hat and Clogs

Memory erasers.

Rukia: Can you tell me why you thought little Tiffany deserved to die?

Ichigo: (Points at the little vizard girl) She was the only one that seemed dangerous at the time.

I like this anime more than Naruto. There are always debate between Onepiece and Naruto without including Bleach just like Xbox vs Playstation without including Nintendo.

I thought this was going to be about the universal appeal of Bleach, and I was prepared to say "it isn't for everyone and that's okay."

But destroying entire solar systems? I haven't read nearly enough Bleach to judge that for myself, so for all I know, maybe this is addressed in the actual series. But I don't think we should ask if they can destroy solar systems, but instead ask why they'd even want to even if they had the ability.

Maybe if they just hate the universe and themselves. Again, haven't seen all of Bleach, so maybe there is an explanation for this I just missed.
