Digimon_Sommelier
I'm very impatient right now. Kokuhaku/Confession is too far away, date-wise. Plus, I read some scoop on what is going on in it. Come on, creators, announce that you were kidding and that Confession is coming this summer! lol That won't happen, I know, but all we have is a clear poster. Where is the full-length trailer for Chapter 3?? I can't wait to see it.

ssjup81
Never heard of itYou've never seen or heard of the DIgimon Adventure series or any of the DIgimon series? Anyway, Toei is releasing films for the series with the characters aged up. The first one was out last November and the second, this past March. The next one comes out in September, and there's a film trailer up for it, but apparently, it's region locked for those outside of Japan, so I just pointed out the main site for the folks here to view it. I doubt that would be region locked since it gets a worldwide release. In Japan, it's in theaters and on Crunchyroll outside of it. senshikoi
That was me and my university coursework, well, not all of it, but didn't turn up for a key lecture, and so I couldn't expand on a point in my university coursework, and I asked the all powerful internet for help, and it gave me nothing! It turns out, I could have asked one of my friends what the answer was, but didn't realise she'd picked that same subject in the module, until we'd submitted the coursework! I doubt that would be region locked since it gets a worldwide release. In Japan, it's in theaters and on Crunchyroll outside of it. Famous last words! Just gone on the site now, and apparently the "video is no longer available"!
ssjup81
Famous last words! Just gone on the site now, and apparently the "video is no longer available"!Are you sure? I just checked it. It's still there on the digimon-adventure.net site on the Japanese side. It's not up for the English side yet. I shared it on Facebook too and those there seemed to be able to play the video fine. The trailer is under the movie section and the news section for the Japanese side of the site. It was updated May 28 (Japan time). I don't think they really update the English side, but not checked it in a while! Thanks, @Koumi! Right so couldn't really make anything out with my non-existent Japanese, well except morality featured again, can't remember if they said "is it right?" or "is it wrong?", but when it boils down to it, those questions are the same! So we see Patamon's infected, which was something I believe ssjup told us, earlier from an article, but also it appears that Ken's Digivice features in this movie! So Digimon Fes next month! Wonder what we'll get from it, hopefully a bit more information on this movie, and probably some more information on the new series on its way! senshikoi
Thanks, Koumi! So, after watching both videos, first time interrupting one, to check the other, before going back to the first video, and second time playing each video on their own, I have a couple of points to make: Indecision - if they don't do something, time will pass them by, I wouldn't have translated it as "we'll be adults", but as I said, I actually don't have any eduction in Japanese, just watching so much anime, that Japanese seems to be creeping into my head; Under Pressure - Yamato tells Taichi he no longer has to feel pressured into forming Omegamon, now that the others are achieving Ultimate; Evil Himekawa - feel like I might have to re-watch movie 2, again, was the smirk because she was evil, or just closer to the root of the infection; Non-chalant - even when infected, it appears that Patamon is unfazed; Lying Himekawa - is she actually evil (she knew Meicoomon would be caught by "the Kaiser", or she is working with/controlling "the Kaiser"), or is she just covering up the government's mistakes (they caused the infection); Tsundere - thought as much, thought Mimi was crying out "tsundere, tsundere"; D3 and crests - with the D3 appearing whilst Himekawa is speaking, it makes me wonder if Himekawa is controlling "the Kaiser", although as she mentions about the crests, she might not be a villain, or just a damn good actor; Digital Gate open, chosen children, let's roll - personally I think it might be "a" Digital World, rather than "the" Digital World that they've opened a gate to! Incorrect points from the review: The "portrait" behind Jou - most probably the television/monitor screen in Koushiro's office, rather than a portrait; You Shall Not Pass - the one shouting about stopping the other from advancing is most probably Meicoomon++, rather than Greymon; Taichi-san, let's go - rather than this being spoken by one person, I think only the first part is spoken by Koushiro, the second part is actually Taichi himself! In the scene of Greymon vs. Meicoomon++, the voice sounded to me like it had more of an accent than usual Japanese, Todori, obviously, although it sounded Kansai to me which, I'm sure would offend people from Todori and Kansai regions by saying that ! ssjup81
It's Tottori, @senshikoi. ^^ I never did give my opinion on this. What stood out for me was seeing Ken's D3 and D-Terminal. Also, the more I watch this stuff, the more I feel this is a tad Tamers-ish...like that government organization is definitely responsible for the mess going on. I'm also curious what "Villainessmon" is lying to the kids about.
senshikoi
Even more offended then ! Although I've found that "ti" and "chi", and "du" and "zu" appear to be interchangeable, however that doesn't justify my "do" and "to" ! Yeah, I've joked about that too, that this is Hypnos Prime (a reference to DC) !
ssjup81
@senshikoi, it`s not that they`re interchangeable, it`s just that Japanese people usually can`t do the romanizations correctly. For example, I have a student named Taichi. For his English nameplate, it`s written as Taiti. I also have a Chihiro who has her name written out as Tihiro. The problem is due to the fact that "chi" falls into the "T" line for the alphabet… a, i, u, e, o ka, ki, ku, ke, ko sa, si, su, se, so ta, ti, tu, te, to na, ni, nu, ne, no ha, hi, hu, he, ho ma, mi, mu, me, mo ya, yu, yo ra, ri, ru, re, ro wa, o, n Some others that get confused are shi, tsu, and fu. Sometimes, Japanese people Romanize these as si, tu, hu because it`s a part of that particular line. The sounds for these are shi, tsu, and fu. Some get it right, some get it wrong. Now that I think about it, "n" can be confusing too. The "n" has pretty much an English "m" sound. Take the Famicom or Super Famicom (Nintendo/Super Nintendo) for example. The pronunciation is an "m" on the end…like in "mmmm". It may read Famicom and Super Famicom when Romanized (it`s short for Family Computer/Super Family Computer), but if written in actual Japanese, or in this case, katakana, it would read famicon. A better example would be conbini (convenience store). It`s written that way, even though it`s pronounced "combini". Hm, that just reminded me of something else that gets mixed up at times. "Ko" and "co". I`ll use Conan from Detective Conan for an example. If writing it out, for some, they`ll write "Conan" as "Konan" because there is no "c" in the Japanese alphabet, The hard "c" sound is there, but not the letter. Anyway, in the case of Tottori, the hiragana for it is とっとり(the small tsu (っ) indicates a double letter, and in this case, it`s for the "tt" in Tottori). There`s no way to mistaken it because nothing there uses "do" (ど). Places, usually don`t get misspelled much, though, if the train stations are anything to go by. I guess long story short, the sounds don`t match what`s written. For us English speakers, we would notice something like that and think that they`re interchangeable. Okay, that all aside, and sorry for going so far off-topic, but I kinda like the Tamersish feel in that regard. It makes me want to actually watch Tamers. Still my favorite of all the series that I`ve seen. I liked the whole government meddling where it shouldn`t be meddling thing going on. I still can`t help but wonder what the confession will actually be and am now wondering if it means that Villainessmon (I love calling her that) will confess that she has ulterior motives or something. I want her to be a bad guy so badly, but at the same time, at this point, it would be too obvious and cliché. Maybe she`s a red herring.
senshikoi
Oh, that's quite true, I've seen "shi" and "tsu" romanised as "si" and "tu"! I actually thought it was Famicomi, unless I'm getting confused with SoniComi (Super Sonico game) ! I guess another "m/n" example is "sempai/senpai", in that I'm guessing it's only written as "senpai", but can be pronounce either way! Yeah, I'm also aware about "ko" for "co"! True, places wouldn't usually be mispelt, although that hiragana for Tottori is really doing a number on my brain, in regards to the small "tsu", I understand what it's for, it's the "tt", but how it works is baking my noodle; something like repeat consonant before vowel? Yeah so to get back to the thread's topic, the Hypnos element of Tamers was good, Yamazaki was a good character! Actually, that wasn't too on topic, let's try again, yeah, she is most probably going to be a red herring! Although that brings up the question, who is the real villain? Just batting some ideas round in my brain, but keep hitting a wall: Alphamon is the main villain, if so, what are his motives? If the government created the infection, as a way of beating rogue Digimon, is Alphamon not really a villain? That said, he looked pretty villaineous, controlling the Kuwagamon! How does "the Kaiser" fit in, was he being controlled/an illusion by Alphamon? How does Meicoomon fit in? Was Meicoomon the first infected, or was used to make the infection? Ok, I've got a possible story outline, could be completely wrong: Meiko and Meicoomon meet; Meiko and Meicoomon meet Himekawa; The government requests Himekawa to bring in Meicoomon to study; The government develops a rogue Digimon countermeasure, the infection; Meicoomon appears unaffected by the infection, so deemed a failure, Meiko is not told that Meicoomon was infected, and Himekawa only finds out after; Meicoomon unknowingly infects other Digimon; Alphamon decides to destroy the source of the infection, Meicoomon; Digimon Adventure -tri- begins! That said, there is the question of how Meicoomon could infect other Digimon, as the Digital Gates were closed until -tri-, I think, and also doesn't explain why the 02 quartet were defeated at the start of -tri-, why the original eight don't acknowledge them as absent, or why they were hostile towards "Ken"! I'm guessing that the government is probably in possession of Ken's D3 and D-Terminal! That's a thought, could the infection have adapted from the darkness in the D3? Although that would go against my possible story outline! Altenatively, given the similarities between Meicoomon++ and Diaboromon, could Diaboromon be the infection, in that the government had a sample of Diaboromon stored from either the events of Our War Game or Diaboromon Strikes Back! Another thing that's sprung to mind, is the Dark Spore kids that became chosen children, whatever happened to them? Koumi
Ugh, I can't believe Crunchyroll claimed Confession will NOT be a simulcast, according to AnimeNewsNetwork. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-08-01/3rd-digimon-adventure-tri-anime-film-new-promo-crunchyroll-streaming-revealed/.104902 Here's my mood, all the while waiting for Confession. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=oTlrNH5IfZs;m=0;s=

Koumi
Wow, I wonder why it won't be simulcast. That's just straight up evil. I wonder if it's due to the fact that they are dubbing it. If that were true, then I hope Toei Animation just flat out revoke the license from Saban as punishment. As a Digimon fan, I do not want to see 3rd party licensees get too much power over an intellectual property they did not create from the very beginning. Case in point: Harmony Gold USA and Macross. Harmony Gold USA is now being blamed for why Macross will NOT show up in Super Robot Wars V, especially when the company DID singlehandedly deny the US release of the entire SRW Alpha saga. I swear, even Saban has ZERO videogame rights for Digimon and yet, the fact no XROS Wars videogame came out of Japan makes me suspicious too. Heck, they're even credited on the Digimon Heroes app as SCG Characters LLC. Even then, Saban better let Bandai Namco use Adventure as THE Digimon representation for Project X Zone 3, especially when Digimon IS a Bandai Namco franchise. At the end of the day, Saban's best move would be not to become Harmony Gold USA 2.0; it's bad for business AND it's a franchise killer. All of Saban group know this. The fans know it. Toei Animation knows and they will not hesitate to threaten Saban with a license revocation. 2nd trailer for Digimon Adventure tri.: Confession http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cL7Js0sutng 2nd trailer for Digimon Adventure tri.: Confession http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ylDSCz9G-E
senshikoi
Ugh, I can't believe Crunchyroll claimed Confession will NOT be a simulcast, according to AnimeNewsNetwork. Hope it's not too delayed compared to the cinema release! If that were true, then I hope Toei Animation just flat out revoke the license from Saban as punishment. Actually, an article I don't have to hand at the moment seemed to suggest that Toei have given the dubbing to someone else to handle, not Saban, although most of the original cast will be returning, and they may or may not do the same as the Japanese version, replacing the original voice actors for the Chosen Children! The first movie is actually on its way to DVD at the end of this year, or it is, here in the UK, and I doubt we're going to be the trendsetter, we usually sub-licence from other countries, Australia usually, even though the distributors boast that the release(s) is due to a deal with a US distributor, so why do I have this piracy warning about how "we all love a good Australian DVD" ? senshikoi
Sounds logical, I mean thinking about it, the reason as to why the Crunchyroll release has been delayed, it could be to drive up cinema sales, as people might have just watched it on Crunchyroll using a region-faker (can't think of the actual name for those programs now), given that they're already paying for a Crunchyroll subscription! That said, with the Crunchyroll release, people are able to rip it, and put it online to be downloaded or streamed, so that also effects cinema sales! Seems that'd be a small amount though, since the only people who would be using Crunchyroll would be people who aren't from Japan, since it can't be used there, unless you use something to trick the system as you said. Seems that wouldn't affect sales too badly for native Japanese goers, but it does take only one. I even rewatch it despite going to the theater on kiss anime. It does suck, however that the films have limited theatrical releases. Edited August 8, 2016 by Guest
