Anime: watching Star Blazers on tv during the late 70s & early 80s even though I wasn’t familiar with the term at the time. Started watching shows like Ranma 1/2, Slayers, Tenchi Muyo, etc on VHS tapes in the mid 90s before moving back onto DVDs. Have been using streaming services to watch anime for about 10 years now. Manga: have never been as into manga as much as anime, but Battle Angel Alita was the first title to really get my attention with it’s art & story (first saw it in a bookstore in the mid 90s)

The second problem is trying to make a series while thinking it will make a lot of money and be popular.

How about Vinland Saga?

Senki Zesshou Symphogear (Has 5 seasons, awesome as hell.) Kokoro Connect (Has 17 episodes, the last 4 are OVAs, so don't skip them accidentally.) Garo: Honoo no Kokuin (Plus its sequel film, Garo: Divine Flame)

I have also seen people's evaluations change after years, which has been an interesting experience.

Since some people from this site are also going to Anime Expo, it is possible to meet there and make new friends. That is so true; everyone here is an anime fan and happy to make new friends.

They haven't done much of that lately. A lot of formulated plot lines have been cranked out to make money and kowtowing to people who don't want the weirder or more adult stuff in anime. Often editing it out if they do leave it in when making things. I'm genuinely concerned about what will be edited out of the Murcielago anime for example, versus what is actually in the manga.

New eps of JJBA: Steel Ball Run are supposed to be available on Netflix today, so reckon I’ll check what all the hype is about.
