Hi! I am saying hi to AnimeForums and this is my first post. While I have been in-and-out of anime (barely) for several years, actually, it wasn't until I watched Azumanga Daioh a few months ago that I became hooked with slice of life! I also watched FLCL too, so I love sci-fi just as much, too. However, I'm not really a big fan of battle shounen and that type of stuff. Anyways, I'll be in-and-out of the forums too, since anime is not my main interest (it's composing music) so, yeah! I'm also learning Japanese, so that's cool too, I guess. That's really it for my introduction post. My signature also is a small introduction too, I guess. See ya guys!

I used to watch action and adventure anime like One Piece, Naruto, Black Clover, etc. But one day, I randomly started watching romcom and slice-of-life anime… and ever since then, as a 27-year-old guy living kind of a loner life, I’ve felt this weird depression for no clear reason. Has anyone else experienced this sudden emotional shift from watching those types of anime? It’s like they hit differently — especially when you start relating to the characters or their peaceful lives. Just wondering if it’s normal or if anyone else has gone through the same thing.

The first manga I read? The Azumanga Daioh manga I was about to say Yotsuba& but then I remembered I only seen a few clips of the manga from YouTube videos before I read the Azudaioh manga

Ooh, I thought I was a bit lonely on the whole "I don't like shonen battle anime" stuff aside from a few friends of mine- that's very relieving! XD Yeah, as for FLCL, I just watch Season 1. Alternative was a bit cool, but nothing can top FLCL Classic (as I call it) to me. Especially the dub, it was amazing. "COME BACK TO LIIIIIIIFE!" "WAAAAAAAHHHH--" "MOOOOOCHYOOOOO" "AAAAAAAAAAAA-" ugh, I can't get it out of my head!

Welcome Hope you find things to interest you here. I’ve never been much into the shonen mega-series either (burned out on One Piece after about 150 episodes). Azumanga Daioh is one of my all time faves & my definitive SOL series. I found FLCL enjoyable but wish they’d stop trying to “catch lightning in a bottle” again, the sequels/follow-ups just don’t work.

Was a three-volume original English-language manga called The Dreaming. I was unfamiliar with manga at the time (I was maybe twelve when I read it), but I read this particular story several times through and loved it. Ended up being a gateway into the medium for me.
